IF use https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

i get

Submissions are beyond limit. Please try later.

whatsoever that means

It means they have a limited amount of slots per found block, that they can offer anyone who is using their service. I've had the same thing the past couple of days but this morning finally got two transactions that 'succeeded'.

Now I wait.

The memory pool turns out to be more and more full these days.
I assume that transactions with the highest fees are put in the blocks first.
So transactions with lower fees will take longer and longer in the future.
That is something we are not used to (yet).
If this trend continues, it will soon become a real problem for bitcoin.
Yeah, the high fees for the transactions and the slow confirmation time is starting to become a really big issue, I know that the user base of the bitcoin is increasing and the more people are joining the community means that they have more transactions to deal with, but this is becoming a really big problem for a long time, because I am starting to think that miners are just taking advantage of this situation.

I've been waiting 24 hours for an inbound transaction, is this common? Or at least not weird?

I've never had to wait this long. The transaction is less than BTC0.05.

Thanks.

The same thing happened to me last Tuesday but it finally confirmed after 26 hours. It's terrible lately but let's hope there's a change in the coming days especially after the approval of segwit.

This is very common nowadays. You should at least increase your fee so that it will be confirmed faster. It's very frustrating to wait for your bitcoin transfer to be confirmed but it is a norm right now. I stumbled upon this website: https://www.viabtc.com/contract/ wherein they are saying that you can increase the confirmation time of your transaction when you enter your TX ID there. I don't know if it works but many people are vouching for it. You can try that if you have the time.

Not really unless the fees are sufficient.

Try this https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
It have helped me before to get confirmation within few hour, it actually works just like the way they claim. Can you post your transaction details?
Yeah that is one way people are using to get faster confirmations and to those who don't know they are another mining service and they just use the transactions people submit when they mine bitcoins and hence confirmation happen for you once they mine a block. While I am not a fan of this service since this is unfair to the others who paid high fees and yet are unconfirmed but anyways its helping people.
I don't think it's unfair because viabtc doesn't really mine most of the block every day and they only accept a couple of hundred of tx.

I can attest that this tool really works I've used this tool 4 times already and got all my confirmation confirmed within 12 hours, but if you are using an electrum wallet, you can adjust the transaction fee, with so many lining in this tool, sometimes it show try again.

It's frustrating these days to get transaction confirmations early enough so we have to make do with the current situation until maybe segwit is approved.
Your current options are:
1) Pay the appropriate fee.
2) Wait for your TX to get its turn.
3) Ask your mining pool to support Segwit.

I assume that transactions with the highest fees are put in the blocks first.
You need not assume anything, that's how it usually goes.

If this trend continues, it will soon become a real problem for bitcoin.
No.

Something need to be done here or we should move to other crypto?
Any currency with this kind of usage will face the same problem. Moving to another one doesn't do anything. It actually makes things worse considering the development status of most of those coins.

I wonder what the situation would be like if bitcoin keep rising and increase in adoption.
We may have to wait for days or even weeks for confirmation.

Yes we need some solution for this problem like increasing block size and for that segwit need to get activated. However paying 150 sats per byte transaction fee can't be considered huge if you are not sending <$1 per transaction.  Wink Wink

The answer is simply no and I don't see anyone giving you adequate fee advice. Usually transactions are near-instant, and confirmation times are 10 minutes on average (per block). However, in the times of a congested network you (or in this case, the sender) have to include the appropriate fee. The recommended fee-rate is determined by two things:
1) The size of your transaction.
2) The current recommended fee-rate in satoshis/byte.

Currently it is as follows [1]:
Quote
The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 180 satoshis/byte, shown in green at the top.
For the median transaction size of 226 bytes, this results in a fee of 40,680 satoshis.
However, if you take a look at the referenced site you would see that you'd probably be able to slip in transactions with a lower fee-rate and get them to confirm in 1 block (e.g. 141 would work right now).

The unconfirmed transaction is not about the how much Bitcoin you sent but the fee you use for that transaction, use small fee will take your transaction getting long to confirmed, if the transaction is urgent, use high fee and you will receive your Bitcoin fast.

It's normal if you paid a small miners fee, that's why it's always better to pay a bigger fee if you want the transaction fast,I get annoyed when I have to wait for so long and to be honest the difference in the fee is not that big of a deal, especially if you are sending big amount of BTC

It's not new many people here takes longer time than yours before their transaction gets confirmed, so it's just a common thing.

Don't think that it's weird and if ever your transaction won't be confirmed, it will be returned from the original address.

I've never had to wait this long. The transaction is less than BTC0.05.

Big or small transaction, it doesn't matter, how much did you pay for the miners fee?

Normally small transactions such as that only requires less than an hour to get confirmed but since blockchain network is congested some confirmations which is sent with less fee will take much more time. So far i only wait 30 mins. for my transaction to be cleared. I am sending them with 60k sats as fee tho.i

I will always say that it's normal. But if you did paid some miners fee, 24 hours is too long for me. Because most of the time my transactions are only taking for hours. But you don't have to worry about it, just wait for it and use that accelerator tool that has been given above. You don't have nothing to do now, but to wait.

Under normal circumstances that is not acceptable at all, but we have some idiots spamming the network and this cause backlogs, and until these backlogs are cleared and the mempool cleaned, we will have to deal with this by adding more miners fees.

It sucks, but this is what Bitcoin will be like until the scaling decisions are made. ^grrrrrr^

Nothing to get panic. From the day price started to increase the problem on confirmation too got raised. This will be managed by the developers or miners might be taking control to move in a stable way. When you get the unconfirmed transaction, consider the transaction is successful. Automatically the confirmation takes within certain time frame.

are you waiting to "receive" the said transaction or have you received it already and waiting for "confirmation"? because these two can be different and what wallet are you using?
