I recently came across the website Afarwest.com, which claims to offer fully anonymous services. However, I'm curious about how realistic this anonymity is, especially since the site is accessible on the visible web (and not the Darknet). Is it really possible to ensure complete anonymity with the current regulations and restrictions on the clear web?
You are asking us about some random website forum in French language, and you expect from us to answer if they are offering anonymous services for what exactly?
If I didn't know better I would say that you are trying to do hidden promotion of that website. that is registered and created just few days ago  Tongue

While doing google research on the wild west and the past of the wild west and I also came across articles that talked about the digital wild west, that's how I found it Smiley
Really?!

As far as I know, it is possible for a site to minimize the data it logs, true anonymity is very hard to guarantee. Even if a site claims to collect no user data, the server infrastructure and hosting providers might still generate logs like IP addresses or connection times due to legal obligations or default configurations.

Self-hosted servers can give more control over logs, but complete anonymity still requires the user to take additional steps, such as using VPNs or Tor, as any connection leaves traces unless fully mitigated.

First, the site is in an unsecured environment; there is an issue with how they implement their SSL or they do not have one, so connecting to a platform like this poses a risk.

If you're not using HTTPS, you can forget about privacy; various governments around the world will now know exactly what you are doing and writing on the internet and not just what sites you are visiting as opposed to using HTTPS. Not even Tor browser or a proxy/VPN will help you here. The least they can do is get a free certificate from Lets Encrypt.

If data is encrypted with TLS/SSL, when someone intercepts the data going back and forth between client and server, it just looks like random nonsense to them. If data is not encrypted, someone can intercept the data and easily read it. Encryption is like an envelope protecting the contents of a personal letter as it goes through the mail.

Second, its hard for a platform that offers complete anonymity that is hosted on a top-level domain or TLD  because they need to provide accurate information on their personal information to their domain registrar because that's one of the requirements of their domain registrar, so even if your registrar, offers to hide your identity, they still have it, and there's a possibility of providing it to authorities in case there is a violation or crime committed, so its better not to trust platforms that offer complete anonymity because even the VPN providers cannot do that.

First of all, i believe there's no thing such as fully or absolute anonymous services. You need to trust the service provider doesn't log or track you either intentionally or by mistake (e.g. default logging tools). Although i believe there are services which offer reasonable anonymity/privacy.

Anyway, the website itself doesn't offer english language option. But if Google Translate provided accurate translation and they're not lying, you could get some anonymity if you don't use your real IP address or host anything that attract lawmaker.

Even if you did not log any of your users' data on your servers, *you*, the site operator, are not anonymous.

The best you can do is off-shore hosting, but it will be harder to get a domain with fake information. Well you technically can for now, but ICANN reserves the right to suspend such domains if they find out. (e.g. if someone files an abuse report against your website.)

Is it possible to be totally anonymous on a clearweb site regardless of this site or another, many sites talk about the protection of privacy, is it possible to have a site that does not log any information about its users and even if a site does not log any information I guess there must be automatic logs depending on the servers and hosting companies,   If a person uses his/her own servers, is it possible that he does not log anything about his users?
It is possible, but not in such a way that you will rely on the website owner's promise that they do not collect data and do not store any information or logs. There are different reasons and ways to do this, sometimes the site owner does not even know to what extent someone collects information from his site. For example, the ad network collects data for its statistics
If you want anonymity, you have to make an effort yourself, for example using Tor, VPN...

While doing google research on the wild west and the past of the wild west and I also came across articles that talked about the digital wild west, that's how I found it Smiley, no I wasn't talking about the coin but rather about the confidential side with a nickname I was registered.

Assuming you are asking a real question and not just trying to promote your site, what exactly do you want to know? Can you remain completely anonymous on such a site? That depends on you. Every web server and site admin can see and log a lot of data about every visitor.  Complete anonymity is very difficult, if not impossible, to achieve on the clear web.

And the site you mentioned looks to me more like a joke or made by amateurs, than actually an "anonymous social space".

This is just a forum from what I can see. If you're referring to the coin they're planning to launch: https://afarwest.com/topic/notre-cryptomonnaie-arrive-bientot-rejoignez-la-revolution-decentralisee-avec-afarwest/

Then I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a real private coin, you've got Monero already. It does feel like you're behind the project though since they have zero online presence, and literally 0 twitter followers. Do you mind telling us how you came across it?
