Recently my friends have started working on a project similar to ISBN idea of registering title ownership of published content as well as Digital Media.
Original ISBN idea is to use ISBN as product identifier rather than providing any legal backing in the form of copy right protection. Later few countries made it as legal requirement to identify the publications with the help of ISBN. The idea of ISBN is to allot a product Number and using STANDARD product number and with the help of STANDARD format it is possible to identify the publisher and allows the publisher to identify a specific edition of a specific title in a specific format within their output.
Blockchain Technology has also made possible for creation of Crypto and Digital assets like coins, tokens etc and it required a STANDARD NUMBERING system to identify the title ownership of assets and its volume and nature of distributed ledger system/blockchain framework used for identifying assets.
The credible advantage of Blockchain Technology is also beneficial for recording traditional ISBN in reformed format considering future development in digital media for digital assets and issues arising for title ownership.
The possibility of storing data in crypto format and usage of Smart Contracts for providing access to data to smart contract owners or subscribers also initiated the new avenue of SMART BOOKS accessed by smart contract Owners.
Tokens and Coins has created a new concept where value has started to move without the limitation of Borders and countries. Ideas connected to Tokens started moving with the help of Coins accepted by public as Value using ICO platform or bought in exchange or through mining.
Title Ownership of digital assets registered using Blockchain technology has more advantage in terms of value associated with digital asset ownership considering its potential use in trade platform and transfer ability compared with traditional ISBN functionality which has limited only to the extent of identifying PUBLISHER/EDITION/TITLE/OUTPUT FORMAT.
This has given rise for New CryptoISBN Project www.cryptoISBN.com and it is still underdevelopment and hope it will further fine tune with user input in coming days.
