There seems to be a tad too much tactical information regarding how we will rid ourselves of ISIS. What about leaving something to their stunted imagination? What about the element of surprise so they won't know what hit them or when?

Somethings don't add up. The upward revised number of ISIL forces is 31000. They have no airforce and no air defence. Supposedly fighting them are the American Air Force plus more than 700 ADVISORS, the Iraqi army, the Iraqi militia, the Kurdish Beshmerga, Iranian elite Alqus forces, Hizbullah and the Syrian government forces and still those ragtag gangs are storming more towns in Syria on one side and threatening Baghdad on the other side. Is anybody seriously fighting them? I really doubt that.

It could be that they were taken off guard and are consolidating their forces, but there's also the international implications to consider, the Kurds for example would have a hard time moving in and taking out ISIS, I don't know the exact laws but we know that the Iraqi government will have some kind of agreement in regards to sovereignty with the U.S so pushing deep into government borders would mean pissing off the U.S and could be an act of war and so on, I expect that's what the other armies are having to deal with as well.

You have to take into account that there are a couple of countries and a whole mess of provinces, regions and political influence in this particular part of the world, this isn't all neat and organised like the Ukraine where there are clearly defined areas of conflict and so on, it's a mess.

90% of Syrians living in poverty at this point. Very sad situation in their country. News today said there were 1500 different militias in Syria. That is a staggering number.

I wonder how the Turks in general will react to this US created chaos. Turkey allows NATO to base missile launchers on its territory at present. This massive influx of Kurd refugees will only acerbate Turkey's trained relations with the Kurds..Which has never been amicable nor friendly from what I've read.
Yet another regime change causing tens of thousands to flee from harm's way. so very sad.

WTF is Assad up to? Just letting these degenerates room his countryside and making menace to the local populations like this? He should be sending out militia to, at minimum, are the locals if not outright beating these fuckers down.

Isis fighters are beheading people as they move from village to village, cutting the heads off one or two people and showing them to the villagers.
Boots on the ground is the only thing which is going to stop the spread of ISIS – and sooner is obviously better than later. Alternatively the West should walk away because they are achieving nothing right now!

No word on muslims trying to take on this group of criminals. No concerted efforts among 'over billions' of muslims, unified protests, or public common condemnations. Silent consent to their attitudes.

Of course, it's 'theirs'. We are about to make it everyone's by killing them.

The number of refugees seeking shelter in Turkey from the Islamic State group's advance across northern Syria has hit 100,000 in less than a week, an official said Sunday.

The head of Turkey's disaster management agency, Fuat Oktay, said the figure relates to Syrians escaping the area near the Syrian border town of Kobani, where fighting has raged between IS and Kurdish fighters since Thursday.
