guess who's back
US government didn't fight ISIS seriously , indeed US allies are the ones who are funding ISIS

The recent territorial loses by the ISIS confirm this argument. When the Americans were "bombing" the ISIS, the latter added on territory and expanded across Syria and Iraq. But once the Russian airstrikes started, the ISIS territory started shrinking, and now they are on the run. The ISIS has been kicked out of strategically important cities such as Palmyra and Al-Qaryatayn. They are about to lose Raqqa as well.

exactly my friend , ISIS used to have the most power when the US and its allies were attacking them
but I said it before as a Syrian , US were not mainly targeting ISIS indeed they were targeting our resources that was under ISIS control
so their goal was to destroy the resources that the Syrian people own in order not to benefit from it in the future
their goal was to destroy these resources without killing many of ISIS fighters

That's great news. Now lets hope their existence would be wiped entirely in the near future. Although Russia has done a massive job for their numbers to get this low, lets not forget other nations that have helped as well. They might not had same influence but surely that had a saying on it too.
Yes let's hope that what was said in the news all this is true and will not happen a lot terror attack in every country either in continent europe, america, asia, africa. Wink

You forgot about the people down under. And penguins too.

I heard ISIS is not adding transgender bathrooms in their utopia.
Any talk of ISIS by Obama is usually just chest thumping. Agree with most of you when it comes to supposed allies, do the states still pump money into Pakistan or has that been rolled back?

it's killing me when I hear US government speaks about fighting ISIS and other terrorist organizations
US government didn't fight ISIS seriously , indeed US allies are the ones who are funding ISIS
it's all about the Syrian army backed by Russia and the other allies
This is true.

However, these dudes change names frequently.  Next year they will need a different name to attract media attention, because ISIS will not create clicks.

I doubt whether this can be achieved in the short term. Unless the powerful backers of the Islamic State (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Kuwait.etc) are prevented from sending funds and supplies to these barbarians, the ISIS can never be defeated. Also, they will reappear in some other country or region (Libya, Yemen.etc), if they are wiped out from Syria and Iraq.

The Mainstream media conveniently ignores the role played by Russia in achieving this result. By the time the Russians started their airstrikes (October 2015), the ISIS was at its peak, capturing more and more territory from the regime forces and the rebels. The major game-changer was the bombing campaign (the Russian one obviously).

The Islamic State group’s ranks have been pared back by international and local military action in Iraq and Syria to their lowest level since Washington began monitoring the group, a senior US official said Tuesday.

The comments from deputy secretary of state Antony Blinken came one day before Barack Obama was due to convene his national security team at CIA headquarters to take stock of the anti-Isis fight.

“Working by, with and through local partners, we have taken back 40% of the territory that Daesh controlled a year ago in Iraq and 10% in Syria,” Blinken told US lawmakers in prepared testimony.

“In fact, we assess Daesh’s numbers are the lowest they’ve been since we began monitoring their manpower in 2014,” he added, using one of three terms US officials use interchangeably to refer to Isis.

Blinken did not put a new figure on the size of the jihadist group’s fighting force in his statement to the Senate committee overseeing funding for the State Department’s program to counter violent extremism.

But in September 2014, the last estimate to which Blinken referred, a US intelligence official told AFP that the CIA believed the group could put between 20,000 and 31,500 fighters in the field, both foreign fighters and local recruits.
