Jesus' support for the rules of the old testament: Mark 7:10, Luke 16:17, Matthew 5:18-19
You can read Romans 3:19

I'm not sure how that invalidates all the other verses that support it. Care to explain?

Support for slavery: Colossians 3:22, Luke 12:47-48
Have you heard about Ayyub who treated his slaves like him as human?

It's nice that he did that, but better still would be not to have slaves. And for Jesus and others not to endorse slavery directly, as they did.

On women: Colossians 3:18, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:11-15
You should read the verses fully, don't just take one verse which its actually related to next verses. And since its begin to off-topic, then you can ask your priest about it next sunday Wink

Like I said, I don't have one. And yes, the verses do relate to one another but you omitted the part where you mention how that is supposed to invalidate what I said. In this case, what I said is that according to the bible women are to be treated as second class people. The verses I posted and many others seem to say that explicitly.

May be. But I really believe that there is a tacit understanding between the ISIS and the Israelis. The reasons are:

1. ISIS hasn't attacked the Israelis till now.
2. Israelis have bombed the Syrian Army positions, in areas where they were fighting the ISIS. This indirectly helped the Islamic State to conquer these locations.
3. Israelis have shot down a number of Syrian Air Force fighter jets, inside the Syrian borders. All of these jets were shot down in regions where the Syrian Armed Forces are engaged in active combat with the ISIS.
Your theories seems reasonable. Then we only can wait what will be happened laters

You can't ignore that those are there too. Jesus makes it clear that the laws of the old testament are still valid for one. Like killing your child if she disobeys you. As for slavery for example, he doesn't oppose it. Anywhere that I know of. Even though he had plenty of opportunity to. Slaves, or servants as the English translation of the bible calls them, are even told to obey their masters as they would god or Christ. Women are told to be submissive to their husbands as to god. They aren't allowed to teach or have any authority over men. In fact men touching women are considered to be defiling themselves. There's a lot of ugly stuff in there.
Can you tell me the verses?

They aren't very hard to find if you search. But a few quick examples:

Support for slavery: Colossians 3:22, Luke 12:47-48

I don’t care what Abraham or Jesus or Mohammed said. But the fact is that their followers do try to increase the number of adherents by any means possible.
From your words, then I conclude that their followers are misinterpreting Abraham doctrines.

I'm not a religious person. I don't believe in any of it. But those bad parts aren't there only to tell people about the conditions in antiquity. Many are guidelines on how you should live your life. If you're Christian, you have a lot of bad parts in the new testament for example: slavery, murder, oppression of women, revenge, etc, etc.
Then do you think in new testament Jesus teach us to do murder, slavery, etc.?

What if Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a puppet obeying the orders of CIA and Mossad?
Do you really believe they are behind ISIS?

No. If you study the Abrahamic religions closely, then you can find that the ultimate aim is to increase the number of adherents by any means possible. The tactics which are currently being employed by the Islamic State does have eerie resemblance to the same employed by the Spanish conquistadors, when they discovered the Americas. Why go back to the 15th century? The Christian terrorist organization New Tribes Mission uses similar tactics even now, to get new converts.

I didn't focus on the bad parts only. What I said is those books have both good and bad parts. Most people ignore the parts they don't like and go along with what they do like. Fanatics are no different. They just pick the other parts to justify their actions. But I still think most of their actions are based on the situations they're in, not religion itself.
I don't think they ignore it. In my opinion, the bad part was made in holy book to tell us the conditions in ancient age, which it was be solved by a prophet then. I'm curious, what is your religion? And can you tell me what the bad parts in your holy book?

If you go by the holy books of Islam or Christianity, no they don't teach us to live peacefully. You have beautiful parts there, where you could get that message. But you also have parts where it says you should kill or enslave everyone that disagrees with your religion. As for the fanatics, I think religion is often only a cover they use. Consciously or otherwise. The root of the problem is political and economical.

I think you just focused on kill and slave parts in holy book. So, in your opinion, what should religion teach us then? Fanatics are religious people who misinterpreted what the religion is. They don't have any intention to kill, they just want to obey God rules in their ways. But, there were some retarded people who ruined religion and make terrorist actions in the world.

ISIS is not Islamic confirmed. Islam is the religion of peace. ISIS maybe have to do with Illuminati.

Not only Islam, but also other religions, such as Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Bahaism and Sikhism call themselves as the religions of peace. But from my experience, a religion can't bring peace or prosperity to anywhere in the world. Religion has killed more people in the history of humankind, than any other ideology or catastrophe.

Religion can't kill someone. Its the people. Its the humans.

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
-snip-

4:23 - “Prohibited to you (for marriage) are:- Your mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters, Mother's sisters; brother's daughters, sister's daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck), foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no prohibition if ye have not gone in;- (Those who have been) wives of your sons proceeding from your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time, except for what is past; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;-

4:24 - “Also (prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess: Thus hath Allah ordained (Prohibitions) against you: Except for these, all others are lawful, provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your property,- desiring chastity, not lust, seeing that ye derive benefit from them, give them their dowers (at least) as prescribed; but if, after a dower is prescribed, agree Mutually (to vary it), there is no blame on you, and Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.”

4:25 - “If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

33:50 - “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated (from Makka) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her;- this only for thee, and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess;- in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Here, 'lawful' means 'wedlock by law' not 'lust by law'.

If ISIS is not Muslim, what they are? Quote from: Muhammed Zakir link=topic=1097301.msg11710853#msg11710853

First of all, see [url
http://islamqa.info/en/94840[/url] and http://www.answering-christianity.com/equality.htm(optional).

It is by no means promoting slave sale. Qur'an told to either release slaves for free or by ransom. Here, slaves refer to war captives. Qur'an and Hadiths has also told to be righteous towards slaves and also the verses and hadiths tell about wedlock, not lust. "Ma malakat aymanuhum" is used in other verses too and it is not referring just to a slave or slaves. You should also note that it is not easy to forbid a bad thing in a second. For example, alcoholic drinks were brought down step by step. In the way is slavery. Also note that slaves where released for free by prophet and swahabas. In fact, at that time, attitude towards slaves were very bad and Islam give more rights to them.

“If any of you have a slave girl, whom he gives good education and excellent training, and then he emancipates her and marries her, he shall have a two-fold reward.” - Al-Bukhari.

The Prophet said, "Your servants and your slaves are your brothers. Anyone who has slaves should give them from what he eats and wears. He should not charge them with work beyond their capabilities. If you must set them to hard work, in any case, I advise you to help them" - Al-Bukhari.
FROM THE QURAN - 23:5,6
"...who restrain their carnal desires (except with their wives and slave girls, for these are lawful to them..."

Again, Muslim men were allowed to have sexual relations with their wives and slave girls.

FROM THE QURAN - 4:24
"And all married women are forbidden unto you save those captives whom your right hand possess. It is a decree of Allah for you. (Muhammad Pickthall's English translation of the Quran).

This verse is one verse out of a long passage dealing with who Muslim men can marry or have sexual relations with. The phrase "captives whom your right hand possess", means the slave girls Muslim men own.
Note also that this passage deals with more than just marriage.  In Sahih Muslim volume 2, #3432, the background context for this Quranic verse is given.  It relates to the events at Autus, and it permitted the Muslim men to have sex with their female slaves.

FROM THE QURAN - 33:50
"Prophet, We have made lawful to you the wives whom you have granted dowries and the slave girls whom God has given you as booty;..."

This verse is for Muhammad.  Supposedly, God allows Muhammad to have sex with his slave girls.

The United States and the European Union were the ones who toppled Saddam Hussain and thereby (indirectly) created the ISIS in the first place. So it is their responsibility to protect the minorities, who are suffering from the rise of the ISIS. By the way, has anyone noticed this news about HIV-infectd ISIS fighters:

Anyone here part of the Islamic faith or studied it? Is this type of act - selling sex slaves, presumably rape - condoned in the Quran? Or Sharia law?

I can't imagine a religion says this type of act is a good thing, but it's hard to believe that ISIS would commit such hypocrisy as well.

No one cares, as it is the Yazidi women who are targeted. If it were Catholic or Baptist women, the EU the United States would have decided to bomb ISIS to rubble. Yazdânism is one of the oldest religions in the world. When ISIS wipes out the Yazidis completely (probably in a matter of few years), a significant chunk of human history will also vanish with them.

Al-Muminun 6 and Al-Maarij 30 both, in identical wording, draw a distinction between spouses and "those whom one's right hands possess" (female slaves), saying " أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ" (literally, "their spouses or what their right hands possess"), while clarifying that sexual intercourse with either is permissible regardless of consent. The female slave may be punished if she doesn't consent. The purchase of female slaves for sex was lawful from the perspective of Islamic law, and this was the most common motive for the purchase of slaves throughout Islamic history.[31]

One rationale given for recognition of concubinage in Islam is that "it satisfied the sexual desire of the female slaves and thereby prevented the spread of immorality in the Muslim community."[32] Most schools restrict concubinage to a monogamous relationship between the slave woman and her master,[33] but according to Sikainga, "in reality, however, female slaves in many Muslim societies were prey for members of their owners' household, their neighbors, and their guests."[32]

ISIS will do anything what they want as far as they can't be stopped. They not only ruined their religion, but also they have destroyed Middle East countries and humanity. I think they are cruelest than Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot combined. Are their actions be ordered by their God? Or is there any conspiracy behind it? But the most important thing is stop this madness. They may make a country or something, but don't make any violence to women and innocent person.

There is a conspiracy behind it , that's for sure .
That's not ordered by god , I'am a muslim and I know that there is no such a thing at least not the way they are doing it . there is 1.7 billion muslims around the world and the number is rising every single day , if god ordered to spread the chaos as ISIS is doing now , shouldn't we be all dead by now ?

I had previously thought that no religion teach to kill the others to get into heaven. But the problem is, ISIS always shout the god name everytime they do action and stated all what they done as a God orders. Minority people in Iraq and Syiria have got torturing by them and I don't know what will be happened in future if ISIS still exist in this world.

ISIS has been killing men and holding the women as sex slaves from a long time now. Sometimes, either they force the men to convert or just fucking kill them. They are brutal and need to be tackled immeditaley. I feel sorry for those women, and I hope things change, asap.

They brutally kill their men and rape their women. They sell the kids in the sex slave trade and now, use these women as a gift. This is such a torture, to see your wife being raped in front of you while they take your child away. Oh dear lord.

Loose lips sink sigs!

Anyone educated on the topic that can provide real insight?

No one cares, as it is the Yazidi women who are targeted. If it were Catholic or Baptist women, the EU the United States would have decided to bomb ISIS to rubble. Yazdânism is one of the oldest religions in the world. When ISIS wipes out the Yazidis completely (probably in a matter of few years), a significant chunk of human history will also vanish with them.

I don't know exactly if Catholic or Baptist is same with Christian since EU and US religion majority is Christian. If so, what do you think about it? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2820603/The-price-slave-determined-official-ISIS-price-list-Islamist-group-sets-prices-Yazidi-Christian-women-girls-nine-fetching-highest-price.html

Imagine our daughters or sisters was captured and sold by the maniacs to random people  Sad  It's so painful. They are very lecherous. Have no idea why EU and US still keep calm.

I think these guys are just doing what they do for shock value at this point. They're still a despicable set of people and it's just unfortunate and appalling.

ISIS has already committed countless unspeakable acts on Yazidi and Christian girls and women in Iraq, but the terrorist army may have reached a new low with a twisted new contest in which female slaves captured in war are given away as "prizes" to fighters who show the have mastered the Koran.

The shocking practice of giving away human beings as prizes, called "sibya," was organized by the Da'wa and Mosques Department in Al-Baraka province in Syria in honor of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and was announced June 19 on ISIS Twitter accounts, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute and the Clarion Project, two independent research institutes that track social media accounts linked to terrorist groups.
