Yes, just use the tester connector to turn it on, or look up how to do it via the paperclip method as NotFuzzy suggested.  Either will work, less stuff hanging around with the clip method!

VROBB,

We have an all in one computer (no tower/computer case). In this scenario, any recommendations as to where to place the MB (24 pin connector)? Also, will the PSU correctly power the Avalon if I simply use the tester provided for the MB connection (i.e. MB clip attached to tester connection and 6 x 6 connectors on PSU attached to Avalon).

Thanks again! Still trying to figure this out.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Usually the Mobo PWR_ON pin is fed by a green wire on the connector. Connect it to a nearby black wire to turn on the PSU.

Indeed, ATX type PSU's expect to see a couple of the contacts on the MB connector to be shorted together to turn on.  Normally that's the power switch on your computer case that is hooked up to the MB that is connected to the MB connector from the PSU.  Without case/MB combo you need to tell the PSU to turn on via the MB connector...
Make sense?  Mine ON!  Cool

All, please forgive me, I am new at this and I am having an issue properly connecting the power supply  unit to the Avalon 741 miner. Specifically, I have connected the 6 x 6 connectors to the Avalon 741 and the other end, 6 x 8 connectors, to the EVGA G2 1300. However, this will not power the Avalon 741 or EVGA. The EVGA will only power the Avalon when the MB (24 pin connector) is plugged into the tester (along with the 6 x 6 connectors in the VGA plugs).

Any ideas on how to resolve? There is no where to plug the MB Connector on the Avalon and the EVGA is supposed to be modular (meaning the 6 x 6 should power the Avalon).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
