What you don't know and you find it important to know about it, feel free to ask even if people will see it as dumb, what matters is that getting an answer knowledge as been added, that is the most important thing.

I never known what is this issue and what keyword to use for searching. It's my appreciation for your help. This tutorial works for me and this issue is resolved.

However, I still did not know how it happened because it just occurred recently. I used a same laptop with Tor browser in many months and did not get such issue. It is why I wrote in OP that this issue can be mistakenly activity from my side. Do you think so?
Without knowing your setup we can only really speculate. Though, it might be due to differences in versions, Tor Browser has regular updates, and if you've updated recently the letterboxing might work or behave a little differently on your device from the last update.

Alternatively, you probably just haven't noticed or it might behave differently depending on the size you resize the Tor Browser window since reducing or increasing it might impact how noticeable it is.

It's a privacy feature [Letterboxing] that adds those empty spaces... Your laptop probably has a smaller screen resolution, hence why it's more noticeable.

  • In the Tor Browser address bar, type in about:config and press enter
  • Search for privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterboxing
  • Set the option to False
  • Restart the browser for changes to take effect

My problem was similar to tranthidung's. and this information was very helpful. I had no idea that there was such a thing. Thanks a lot!

I also use Tor a lot and I have the same problem as OP, a lot of white space at the bottom and some on both sides.
But I have this only in Tor (with this forum).

Have anyone know what is this issue? How is it called? Then how to fix it?

Its website loading problem nothing critical just remove your cache from your browser as well computer and shut it down a while and next time you will load it completely.

If it still persist then wait for cache TTL to renew if server response is poor under certain area's.
Its because website doesn't load completely and that same cache is being served to you again and again.

I don't know this is actually causing the problem but I faced this once on brave browser and got really pissed off but at the end the solution is really simple just tried zooming out the page and it worked out.

So you can try the same as well by clicking ctrl + -/+. And let me know if resolved. Smiley

I am not sure how it happened (it can be my mistakenly click and unintentionally change in settings) but Tor browser displayed like this on my laptop. That is weird to have too many plain space at the bottom. I did not get this issue on my desktop

I tried to uninstall and install Tor browser again, download a newest version as well but can not fix it.

Have anyone know what is this issue? How is it called? Then how to fix it?

Thank you.  Kiss
