Ratimov changed his name to Symmetrick because he was accused to be a plagiarist, he shouted very means words, hedeleted all his vital post history and content, he deleted his trust entries and more. Ratimov and his name change was clearly motivated to cover up his abuses.

Everybody still knows him by his new name as the same person and he is not the first person who changed his name recently.

Like Z-tight said, that theymos can change someone's name without any fees but the user has to convince him that why changing of the username is important. I would also like to add that if theymos knows someone then he may consider to help such users by changing their username.

It all depends on why someone wants to change their name and whether the admin agrees that the reason is valid. Not so long ago, a member changed his name at least twice (if not three times) in a relatively short period of time because someone impersonated him on Telegram, if I remember correctly. On the other hand, another member has been trying to change his name for months and finally gave up, only to get what he wanted after a long time.

I personally am not in favor of members changing their name because regardless of the reasons for the change, it can be very confusing for everyone else.

You don't have to pay anything to change your username now, you simply have to pm Theymos and convince him why he should change your forum username. He doesn't agree too often as well, so you can't change it every other week.

Nice to hear, maybe it's a common mistake from typing to add an "r" in his name because it seems to be common when many people add it. For some words, it is tricky to type sometimes.

I have just detected it because in some submissions, it is "Symmetrick" and in some, it is "Symmertrick" and it confused me.
First, I didn't know if it's an insider joke because of his recent name change (and "Symmertrick" could be his next change) but his account is not re-named yet.
