As I can see on the marketplace, it isn't just Bitcoin who is struggling with the price fall, almost every popular coin is hitting an average 10% -15% price fall. What is actually happening? There is something more to this, it can't be that every coin has problems right now. Something bigger is happening..
I agree but the bitcoin fall was quite huge and sharp around 40% as compared to the altcoins which approximately suffers around 15-20%. But most probably we are going to see a huge rise of altcoins in 2018 after the settlement of bitcoin price at certain level because alts are still below average.
Actually bitcoin is still the dominant crypto of the world so the variation of bitcoin price affects the whole market. Due to high price and high demand of bitcoin, it's volatility has also been increased and we have an upcoming fork (i.e Dec 2017), so there is high uncertainty in market due to all this.

For me bitcoin was just a minor case of price drops but I am looking for is that the other crypto currencies will also rise higher. That's how I view it with other crypto's to potentially higher in the future, specially when there's buy and sell that may happen instantly. Unpredictable price might surprice us when there's a demand that also eventually increase in population, so it's good to hold your bitcoins for a long term goals.

Are you new in Crypto?  What the hack is happening?  Something totally new? Something never seen before?         Nothing is new and what just happened happened 4 times only this year.

Well, Bitcoin is getting better now, as all the other coins are, too. I guess there is really a connection  between Bitcoin and alternatives as you say. I wasn't really panicing, it just seemed weird to me that almost every coin is going red on marketcap, I have never seen it before. Now it is positive all the way, hope it stays that way..

I heard that Korea, China and Japan are planing tax income profit from trading in 2018. This leads to the falling down of the market. However, you dont worry. Everything will be ok. The investors will come back

Actually no, almost  all known coins are trending down.

Bitcoin lost about 20%-25% of its value
Ethereum lost about 20%
Bitcoin Cash lost about 30%
Ripple, litecoin and dash also lost about 20%

For me the factors are price correction and profit taking that is it. I do not believe that there is something big is happening.

What hit today was the public being able to trade and buy bch, instead of buying btc at coinbase, they bought bch, the value used to be 10 to 1 btc to bch, since BC embraced BCH the value ratio is now 5 to 1 and the guy that called this blood bath two days ago explained it all at this story and it was posted here 2 days ago before the blood batch hit.

https://www.soladoni.com/bitcoin-cash-bitcoin/

Coinbase trading BCH caused the meltdown in value of BTC to BCH

20K to 2K two weeks ago 10 to 1 ratio

Now it's 5 to 1

What caused it?

The entrance of BCH into GDAX so now the public is choosing BCH over BTC

I believe something bigger is happening but what it is? I could not understand why.
The price of many altcoin is like control by somebody (whales ). When is up and all up together. When is down and all down together.

No more panicking at all knowing that bitcoin price is like that. If bitcoin fall everything was fall not that big impact but there are impact of it affects the market of alts. And this is the best time for us to buy more alts while the price is still low because there are a time for a big pump again soon. It is the great opportunity to all of us to become a buyer of more alts now. Be wise to choose of the coins better to choose the coins or tokens that has great volume for this coins has more potential to grow.

Some asian goverments including Japan have just announced their mistrust towards cryptocurrencies because their big fluctuations. That may impact the price too. Usually bad news have drawn a lot of attention from the crowd so the price could easily really soon climb up again.

What is happening, is that traders are withdrawing profits before the new year. And by traders, I mean not institutional, as those do it in January for the tax reasons. I mean the uneducated crowd, which institutional traders look down on. That's why Bitcoin only is allowed in the "proper" trading world as a futures, rather than commodities.

Most of the coins are directly attached to BTC, that's the reason why the currrent prices drops.
Not likely ETH which is not really based on BTC.

Every coin isn't having problems but the prices were perhaps too much for investors to handle and they consequently cashed out some of the money. I mean the industry did balloon from 200b to 600b in what a few weeks? Therefore you must expect some money to leave some of the times it is only natural.
