Yes, it is because of us that we are pioneers who buy coins and test out the new cutting edge technologies like BABYSAFESHIB

There is nothing "pioneering" about buying a shit-memecoin on Binance's private chain. It is just gambling your money on things that have no utility. The most "utility" they'll have is staking or some other sort of tail-eating property. That is not to discard the fact that a lot of Indian devs and startups have been an integral part of the crypto-industry right from the beginning. If it wasn't for that stupid ban by RBI oldies, we could have had a lot more interest and a lot more unicorns by now.

Like Pakhi pointed out, the prevalence of cheap internet and smartphones has a lot to do with this. Another huge set of new entrants in the past few months have been the stock investors. Reputed websites like ET and Moneycontrol now have articles about trading with crypto, buying it safely etc. The usage till now had been mostly limited to the hustler sorts from the hinterlands who are generally only looking for ways to earn. The real investors will be coming if crypto gets popularized like Stocks.

Smartphones and cheap internet has indeed helped many Indians to get the knowledge that made many of them ahead of the game.
I was lucky to enough to get a phone when I was 15 years of age. It was not a smartphone but a barphone with 2g internet connectivity.
That was the time when my life really started to change because I started to learn many things from the phone.
From a noob who didn't know how to use a phone properly I started my journey to learn to play games and eventually as I grew I landed up in the crypto community.

I believe there would be many people like me who started from scratch. One of the leading example Rajarshi Maitra who started learning bitcoin development right from the scratch and is now the lead developer from India for the Bitcoin Core.

Not only moneycontrol but recently I have noticed that many apps, social media platforms, Tv etc.. have started advertising crypto platforms.
This has made many people to join the crypto community. This is only the beginning of an everlasting Indian crypto community.

I am not surprised to read that because lately I have been reading news where India was ranked 2nd on the global crypto adoption rate.
Now that's an achievement because the global adoption rate is what counts when we are talking about how soon the wide adoption of crypto will take place.
May be India might become one of the factors for mass adoption in crypto but we can't speculate on that for the time being.

Digging up the internet I found that Chainanalysis was the firm which reported these numbers.

Also, another report says that India is on number 1 with the highest number of crypto owners in the world. Now that's something.

Even I was really amazed to find India has a huge stake in the crypto community.

P.S: Even if 1% of them joins bitcointalk then our India forum will be really active again.  Grin

Absolutely incredible and a proud moment for fellow Indians like us. We have been always thinking that we as a community are the only pillars who have been trying to spread the word but it seems there are others also who have been doing the same. Yes, if 1% of them join the community then our forum will be buzzing with topics from different memebrs.

I today came across this article published in a reputed Financial newspaper. The ranking is based on the number of crypto owners, the global crypto adoption index, and other factors, It states that India is currently the seventh most ‘crypto-aware’ country. We were ranked among 50 nations on the level of interest and awareness for cryptos among its people. This study has been published BrokerChooser. I am not sure how reputed these guys are but I am happy to hear that we are in the top 10. Please do read the article and share your feedback.

I am not much surprised with the score in fact I expected India to be ranked even higher on this list because we are the 5th largest economy of the world and have the most IT professionals in the world, with such a huge population working in IT industry it's obvious that crypto adoption would be much higher in India. Also, people love to hide their incomes in India to avoid taxes, cryptocurrencies act as a great avenue for those people too providing them a great place to keep their incomes and assets hidden, the irony would be when the government decides to ban cryptos, a nation which ranks 7th on the adoption index would see a drastic fall if something like this happens.

Not bad to hear such positive things that India's educated population is showing interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Especially, when we are falling back in every other global indexes like Hunger, human rights, employment, freedom, corruption, communal violence, intolerance etc.

It's just one good improvement among so many bad improvements happening in Indian since 2014. But with the huge amount of population we have, I don't think we will take long to come up within first 3 crypto aware nations if the government provides some positive regulatory framework around it.

Absolutely India is well known for cheap internet and every Indian to an extent has now a smartphone (Thanks to the Chinese manufacturer) in just a few years we might become the top 3 countries. A lot of Indian millennials are into cryptocurrency and since most of them are educated that is the reason they understand the crypto sphere easily.
