well, it is actually very easy to know which altcoin is trending now and people have trust with it
My suggestion would be : just go to big exchange site, take for a example, Poloniex.com
go the trading section and the just sort the coins on volume, you'll see then which coins are popular now
if you do such monitoring on regular basis, soon you'll learn enough about altcoins Roll Eyes

and to make thing easy - I will name a few, just to reference - ETH, ZEC, LTC

Yes I think there are 3 famous altcoin: bitcoin cash, litecoin and ethereum.
Bitcoin cash because affected all bitcoiners.
Litecoins because was the first altcoin and almost every bitcoin holder knows that it exists.
Ethereum is pretty well known also, they are even ehtereum ATM.

if your talking about the famous alt coins i think the best answer would be bitcoin because bitcoin became very popular at this time and also it give you and us a lot of benefits and it is very convenient for us .It is decentralized organization. if your looking to invest alt coins i can assure you that bitcoin is the best answer but there is a lot of coins that you can invest and also trust like ethereum.

I think your asking about the famous alt coins. Of course the answer is bitcoin. Bitcoin is very popular. It gives a lot of benefits. It is very convenient. It is decentralized organizations. If you are looking for alt coins worth investing, I can assure you to invest in bitcoin. But there are also some coins that are really trusted also like ethereum. I'm rooting this two and getting more knowledge to invest in these two.

you need to more clearfy your question what you want to know.do you want to know which coin are famous? if you want this visit into coinmarketcap. here you find the list of all coin.which coin are on the top list these are more popular and famous.
