This is one project that never ceases to impress me. Initially, I thought it was rather ambitious but it has continued to deliver and outperform expectations. This is am innovative project which easily promotes the cryptoworld through its partnerships with top football clubs.

Absolutely. And their marketing is second to none. Honestly, I haven't seen any other project do marketing like they have been doing. Here's the latest example - https://twitter.com/alex_dreyfus/status/1154276895288172544

I am not really sure what kind of voting rights fans would get?!
The way I understood these partnerships is that fans could get a discount on official merchandise being part of socios.com. That is a plus.
But regarding voting rights, I dont see how that could work out and why clubs would even consider that. I mean are fans going to decide which players to buy or sell or whether to fire the manager or not. Seems a bit too much.

The votes will very likely be on smaller matters. And the clubs will be providing the answers themselves too. AS Roma for example already said what kind of questions they're going to ask:

Quote
From the autumn, fans will be able to have their say in the choosing of the name of a club facility, make decisions over certain pre-match activities at the Stadio Olimpico, as well as decide which player will feature in a live Twitter Q&A.

Remember that clubs like money and this is about opening up a new revenue channel for them to profit off their global fan base. Like, there are more Juventus fans in China than in Italy.

AS Roma joins other top tier football clubs Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham in plans to issue their tradable crypto tokens on Chiliz' Socios.com platform. https://www.asroma.com/en/news/2019/7/socios-become-club-s-latest-official-partner.

IMO, this is very good for adaption.

Is this news valid and accountable? If so, a good progress. Especially for the progress and development of the cryptocurrency world. Indeed, nowadays the crypto hype is increasingly spreading, making various sectors interested in this technology and investment. It is possible that the football club will release crypto tokens or coins which will later have to do with the sport and have a great influence.

Absolutely! All of these club partnerships have been posted on the club's official websites/facebook, tweeted by their official accounts. Very easily verifiable. That's why I had added a link to official AS Roma website. Tweet from the official AS Roma account -  https://twitter.com/OfficialASRoma/status/1152111692823900160.

From the crypto point of view these kind of tokens are a joke. These football clubs don't need to create a token to do what they will do with this one. They are just riding the hype around cryptocurrencies and trying to benefit from it.

IMO, voting and trading are the some of the best use cases for crypto. So I tend to disagree with that.

I still don't understand the importance of such things except for clubs to get more money from their fans. Sure, those marketing terms such as "giving rights for supporter to vote on clubs decisions" seems good, but how far is that applicable? How can customer knows or understand their club problems if they don't have access to all the data and how to distinguish their vote between 'what they want' and 'what is really needed'?

Considering that club owners are way richer than most of the fans, I doubt it could bring revolutionary breakthrough. But if it did, then all's good.

I mean this is huge, I read some of their announcements and this projects looks really well. They have partnered with five great football clubs to launch their own team token, hope such things will near the mass adoption as well.

I do not know what is the benefit for AS Roma from this partnership, but for Chiliz it must be a good advertisement. It is strange that the market did not react to this and the coin falls in price. Cryptocurrencies need a mass adoption, if it starts this way then I don’t mind

This is a progress for the crypto world from Facebook to football clubs wanting to make their own tokens, I hope that when that happens do not worsen the crypto world. Hopefully they plan something that is truly beneficial to the team and the people don't make tokens without things that are not  an example for gambling is only some people who like gambling

Really great collaboration! This is very good for the future for As Roma and its fans. Because in the article it said that "giving fans the right to vote in certain club-related decisions" So this is really very good for all the people involved. So we can hope not only for As Roma, but for all other European clubs.

For sure. Clubs from UK, Italy and France already onboard and the first Spanish club is going to be announced soon (within a few weeks I imagine) as per their CEO's latest interview.

Yup, and football is just one vertical. They already signed one of the top 5 revenue esports club - OG esports. Plus, planning to expand to cricket, baseball, basketball etc in a couple of months.

Most interesting project in crypto right now. Chiliz doesn't create the newest super high speed fancy blockchain with trillions of TPS no one will ever use but is one of the rare projects which has a high chance to get millions of users, even if they have no idea what crypto is.

After empty promises for years it's refreshing to see a project actualy create and deliver.

For me as a sports fan in general it's super interesting which clubs are the first to profit from crypto/blockchain.

This isn't really about using crypto as a currency to buy tickets, merchandise etc. Frankly, I don't get the point of doing that. But to each their own ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

These club fan tokens are more like membership cards. They allow you to vote (but it's not pay-per-vote) and participate in other fan activities.

Is this how all clubs are going to keep minting their own coin? Why don't they just incorporate with the bitcoin and let it form part of their payment system and promotion by using the lightning network for speed confirmation? I hope these clubs get it right.
They can't control bitcoin and it's the same as ico when the team or creator able to see how much coin will be distributed to the network and what will be the purpose of the token. I thought that those coins will be used as a betting tool or buy merchandise.

Because this is also a way for the clubs to monetize their global fan base. Plus, Socios is a fan engagement platform that provides voting rights to club token holders, fan experiences etc. So, it's not just a matter of having fast transaction times.
