In the course of this week's G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, France: Finance Minister Bruno Llemer noted the importance of bitcoins and crypto currency in the world economy. Lemer noted that France, along with Germany, called for crypto-currencies, which is included in the G20 agenda.

The minister showed that France will start working according to the rules of the crypto currency in front of the rest of the world, in an effort to put Europe in the forefront of the digital economy. As described in the G20 called for a crypto currency regulation recommendations in July this year, seemingly confirming the rumors of persecution of crypto-currencies are not relevant to them.

Lemer, like most world leaders, added that crypto-currencies can be used in illegal activities, but noted that he "firmly believes this technology is very positive for every country." In order for this to happen, however, "we must have rules, and Europe will lead the process."

According to a report published by the Brazilian news agency Criptomoedas Fácil, the minister did not rule out the possibility of seeing central banks issue their own crypto-currencies - an idea that was entertaining central banks around the world. If they come, he meant, they will come after the sector is regulated.

Lemer, in particular, noted that he considers financial technologies to be of paramount importance for the market "in order to develop in the best possible way." According to him, crypto-currencies are a part of development. He said (in a rough translation):

"We agree that crypto-assets can be very interesting for everyone. And we are obviously not in favor of blockchain technology, which is capable of providing very good support to financial assets in Europe or anywhere in the world. We are not in favor of these technologies, but we want these technologies to be safe, and therefore we need to define very clear measures for their regulation. "
