fortunately I have never been trapped in that, even though I am still a beginner and new to the world of crypto investment, but I believe more in myself than in other people.
on the other hand, I'm also not interested in this, what are they for, if they are proficient in trading or something, why don't they just trade on their own and don't need to invite other people.

Nothing is free in the crypto world. Even for a normal airdrop, you must complete a task in order to be eligible for the airdrop. Giving your private keys to me just like that is very weird.

I often wonder what would make someone disclose their private keys to me without making me question their actions. I have been notified about such a move in numerous Telegram private messages. My usual action is to hit the block.

My cryptocurrency conviction is that you can't just give a stranger access to your private keys without you having ulterior motives.

In this space nobody is a fool except you are totally new to crypto and you decide to take a step without doing research, how can a stranger send you their log in information for an exchange and tell you that they are entrusting you with their money and you believe?

How can someone have access to millions of dollars and you are the God sent stranger they can give the key to the millions and you are promised a share part? Do you work for the money?
A typical aging the victim kind of scam. Someone tried that with me back in the day. Coming ate with things like, "I went on vacation to a different country with some crypto ba regulations and wanted me to make withdrawals on his behalf... directed me on what go do of which, I objected because, I already knew how all that was to end".

Either way, it's pretty dumb to hope that, such level of responsibility would be given just anyone. Something I always ask myself;
These individuals that wants to entrust you their life savings worth millions, don't they have relatives or friends that could work that for them?
Why you?

And on your part and I don't mean the OP in all this but,
Why would you hope or want to hold in your possession someone's fortune because your asked to?

It's supposed to scare you.

Thanks for the information been a newbies we can likely fall in this because we don't know but I guess with all this we have to learn from our past and from others mistake so we will not fall into that or be  victim too.
I guess we need to get away greed from us so we'll not fall in the hands of scammers. I hope before you will like to become an investor on bitcoin you need to have known alot about bitcoin.
Well for real we have the good ones and also the bad ones too so we don't know who is who so we just need to be okay with what ever we have with us.

I receive this type of offers on telegram a lot, the solution was blocking messages from unknown numbers in telegram settings, I've given more than five people a chance but it all end up a scam, I knew they are lying the moment they say they can't withdraw their own money.

Telegram and Twitter is the den of this type of scam. Most times when I receive messages from unknown number seeking for help with their wallet/exchange account or trying to teach me how to earn passively I don't even bother to reply them because I already know that it definitely going to end up as a scam or it's just going to waste the time I should have been spending on other things that would have profited me.
And just as you said disabling unknown numbers from reaching on telegram can help you prevent messages like that but that's only if you don't use your Telegram account for business purposes.

You need to wise up, in this world today, people don't give up something without wanting something back, nothing is actually for free, so if someone contacted you on Twitter, Telegram or any social media platforms saying they can make you rich by helping them or they played dump as if they can't operate their own wallet or account they are 100% scammers.
The same goes for selling trading signals, and it's not hard to see what if someone could make money from it, then it would not make sense for him to sell this information. This is all done just to make money off of you (or steal it, depending on the situation).

There are so many stories about it, it happened so many times and every time there are those who believe it. Such is human nature, a person wants to get something just like that, but this does not happen, especially when it comes to money.

I would be very surprised if anyone is still falling for this sort of crime today. This scheme is very cheap and everyone should have heard about it by now...

As long as there are newcomers who are not sufficiently aware of how the cryptocurrency market functions and the basics of its security, there will always be an offer from scammers that will be aimed at taking money from them. So the main thing for saving your deposit is knowledge.

Consider that Telegram is a scammers' paradise and you shouldn't really trust anyone there unless you manage to verify their authenticity. There have been many similar cases in the past where someone tried to offer us money simply by helping him withdraw his money from a certain (unknown) exchange, and it was purely a fraudulent attempt and just hypnotizing you for money.

Of course ignoring is the best way instead of wasting time talking to scammers, but some people or new users will be very curious about the offer.

I'm surprised to hear people still fall for this kind of shit. Moreover, Telegram is even the worst place to allow any stranger to dive into your inbox, promise you an offer that could make you rich and you go about believing it. They are all scammers, and most importantly, never send your login details to anybody you don't know physically, or click any link sent by an unknown user, because that may be a means to giving the stranger access to hacking your account. So please, let's all try to be security conscious.

One of the most effective way of not falling for this sort of scam is keep you private telegram or social media safe and not mixed with your work version and also be less greedy .

Most people that fall for all this scam are newbies, I don't believe a professional that have been in crypto space for long term will fall for this scam, why will someone you don't know share you their private key and you will also believe and import it on your device. It's kind of annoying, how will someone you don't know share you their private key and they will want to share the money in the wallet with you, someone you don't know and you didn't do anything for the person. Seriously this scam format is very cheat but people still fall for it that's why we just have to keep on adviceing newbies joining the crypto space about different scam format.

Only greedy people fall for such tricks. Those aren't new tricks anyway. Why will anyone want to reap where they didn't sow? The first time I saw that in one of the numerous telegram groups I was subscribed to was in 2021. It didn't move me a bit even though it was my first experience with such. The reason being that I've a mindset that nothing is ever free, both online and off it. There's always a catch. I always want to find out what the catch is. I was proved right a few weeks after that when someone complained of how they were duped through that method. Don't expect a philanthropist in this industry. They don't exist.
True. Only those people who have high desires for money will eventually fall for this because even if they know it would be impossible, but they would still try out everything wishing they would be lucky enough. Wishing there’s always free and there are shortcuts for them to get rich, and that’s how they starting falling on scams. However, if they have rich mindset and would work first before they focus on greed, maybe there are chances that they will still succeed and get rich in the future.
I think even the new comers to the crypto world can be trick not only greedy people, sometimes your  curiousity can get the most of you and if you are careful enough before you know it you have fallen to these scams. But for the old and well exposed people in the crypto space, i think its only their greed of money that can lead them to finding out what is fully behind the huge money proposed in these scams, to see if they can actually claim it and get rich all of sudden.

It is safer to ignore all of these strangers who send links and other things. Already we are already 2023 and these direct strategies for committing fraud are not giving up. More people are beginning to understand these online modus operations. In order to gain the trust of their intended victim, some con artists will first attempt to speak casually. However, it is also carefully observing and waiting for the right moment to strike.
Just avoid all of them, and your funds will never be in danger. Because let’s admit it, scammers/ fraudsters are only here for our money so we should always be mindful of our finances. Otherwise, they will start to attack us once they see us as weak and easily taken advantage, that will make them pursue their bad plans for us and eventually we fall as their victims.

Greed is the reason people fall for these kinds of scams. It's not ignorance. If they don't have ulterior motives too then they won't even pay attention to messages like that. How does a stranger just decide to give you, a total stranger his login information for you to manage? How do people think? Nothing comes for free in this life. You should be skeptical of anything that is free. There's nothing free in this life ffs.

Rule 1: As a of the internet, always as assume that everyone is out to scam you. Check, crosscheck and triple check. If it is too good to be true, run.
Rule 2: If you think you are above being scammed, you will be scammed. You let your guard down for a split second because you think you cannot be scammed, you lose.

Unfortunately there will always be victims and people who are totally new to cryptocurrency, that is why people will keep falling for this. There will always be people who are greedy and will remain gullible to these schemes, people who are too religious and believe that they will miraculously provided for, and so see these opportunities as miracles of provision about to happen. Sadly, I can even tell you that there are those that still have no idea about this scam strategy.

Don't trust people especially the ones you meet online.

I don't believe that it's only being greedy while being unaware of the danger. I was also almost scammed through a Discord group when I was promised a higher yield on a smart contact. It wasn't greed, but being completely unaware of the dangers and being fooled by someone posing as a group administrator.
Well, whichever way you choose to coat it and make it not sound like it's greed I don't want to argue what is obvious with you. Let me ask you, if the yield promised weren't high would you've been interested? No? You see, that's the point. Many people get easily hooked once they see the ROI, experience or not doesn't matter to anyone who is greedy. They tend to think that the next trap could be different, not knowing that they're all the same.

There are 2 kinds of people who will fall into this kind of trap. The newbie ones and the greedy ones.

Newbie is understandable because they don't know what they are doing in crypto. The problem with them though is that, most of the newbies are invest first before learning which is wrong. I included greedy ones because I guess they're the ones who will fall into this kind of trap because they think that they will get money for free and knowing that it's a huge amount, they really will fall.

I'd bundle both kinds of people into one single category. Even if you're new to crypto, if would take a good amount of greed to think "this makes sense" and go through with the offer.

That’s true. No one would guarantee profits unless you are not doing something for that. As it’s like there is no shortcut to success so you have to put a huge effort on yourself and never simply believe on the promises of strangers that they will offer you the wealth that they are experiencing right now. Always know that you reap what you sow, if you do nothing, then you have nothing to expect too. So work on it and stay away from all types of scammers.

I once had this experience some months ago, I received an SMS from an unknown number which was hidden anyway, the  informations the message carried were; password:......., Username:......., And a link I should click on and then key in the said password and username.
Like they said curiosity kills the cat. Though I was skeptical about it but I end up clicking the link ,keyed in the informations as given then an account worth some huge amount of usdt opened, (I can't really tell if it was one of those virtual accounts) , but when I scroll through the account I discovered it requires a payment password. Lol, I guess that's what the sender is in search of and I don't understand why he/she thought they could get that from me
I just had to delete the whole link cause it done on me it was a scam thing. Let's be guided about this trick.
Here's a screenshot.

Whew! Looks like you have been scammed multiple times, glad you learned your lesson. Finding your way as a newbie can be difficult, newbies come into this space with dreams of making six figures. This makes them easy to scam, I don’t think scammers are creative they pretty much use the same old tricks. It works on greedy people who want to make thousands of dollars with a few bucks.

Omorr... It was a hard lesson, oh my 🤣🤣. You say greed, though, for some people, but in my case it was not greed; I was new then, and I felt maybe that's just how the system works; that was just me being a real newbie, and it was painful 😖😣. But the experience taught me a hard lesson, and I also learned one thing that day: to run away from any offer that looks too good to be true, like in the OP's illustration.

These are exactly the people this scammers are targeting, they aren't targeting those that are OGs instead the newbie just coming into the space especially immediately there's a pump in the market and that's when you'll notice this kind of scam popping up. The sad story is that people will keep getting this cheaply scam because they fail to understand how things should be. You don't just go from knowing nothing about a new innovation to wanting to earn. You should first scarified sometime to learning then you gradually move up to earning.

Good thing we keep getting reminders through threads like this as this could save one or two users from getting scammed. For users not familiarized with the scams ongoing in the space, pay closed attention to the scam accusations boards as these scammers are quite innovative in the ways they try to steal your coins. Never trust any random person that contacts you online and feel free to ask questions on the forum before engaging in any proposals you receive online, be safe out there.

Dream that becomes a reality isn't it? Cheesy

In reality, there is no people or person who will just give you money for free. In this cruel world, we need to work hard in order for us to have money. We need to work smart for us to get money. No dumb people will just give money for free especially if it's a stranger. If you encounter this kind of thing, just avoid and don't let your greediness eat you.

I agree with this.

People always want something in return. It's a shame, but we can't blame them for their decisions especially those newbie ones. Like I'm always saying, the best teacher right now is experience. Let them experience it and they will realize what's right and what's wrong. What's scam and what's not. Experiencing them to fall into traps and scam will change them and their way of thinking.

AFAIK, this is a different type of scam where anyone who imports the keys would see a balance in the wallet, but would need to make a deposit before they can send it out to cover the feea. This seems more believable as no one is directly prompting them to do anything and it looks like free money.

The scammers has already used a sort of script which sends out any asset deposited into the address, so once they make a transaction, bit is instantly sent out from the wallet.

Pretty much. I'd imagine that this scam isn't one of those scams where the scammer could steal hundreds of thousands to millions with a single victim, but instead it's something that has a very low reward(small deposits for fees) but far higher chances of success.

Exactly, you will only get scammed when you want to make excess money.Scammers are every where looking for people they will scam, but what will make you not to be a victim to their scam trick is when you have the ability to detect who a scam is,when you can also detect their techniques, and the skills they use. They used to say experience is the best teacher,if you have been scammed ones,I don't expect you to be scam again, except you are just too greedy, and rush after every link you see to make money.

Scammers always find a way to fool people no matter how smart they are, they always come up with a unique proposal where peoples fall into their trap and get scammed.
How can someone have access to millions of dollars and you are the God sent stranger they can give the key to the millions and you are promised a share part? Do you work for the money?
No one with millions of dollars will come to me and give them a share of that money. With that scam strategy, only people with huge greed fall for it, even a newbie won't fall for it, if he or she has common sense.

Yeah, we'll still have alot of peeps falling for the same thing again and again' ...... Even as everyone has been assumed to read this overtime in here.
When I got registered, I realized so many things as the result of my taking time to study; I wasn't waiting for anyone to tell me what I was supposed to do cus I had a reason, and it motivated the potentials in me. Since I had an interest to forsee against any form of fraudulence, I got my ass stucked up in the most important discussions and I gradually got the knowledge in folds. I fear for the future: cus I realized most peeps won't learn until they get scammed already.

It's a shame people still falling for this
and you decide to take a step without doing research,

@OP, Have you been scammed before? If yes, how did it happen? You can quote me a reply if you like.

But what you must know is that every body is not the same. While some people are so hard to crack, some people are too fragile and can easily be wined.

There are some people who have high enthusiasm for the crypto space, but they don't have anyone to educate them on the knowledge they sick. They have read some articles and watched some videos, but all of that may not have exposed them to all the logic of scammers. But, like the popular saying goes, "experience is the best teacher."

There was some time around 2019 when my Facebook account got hacked. They successfully hacked my Facebook account after hacking my brother's first, and then the hacker sent me a message through my brother's own Facebook account. message from the hacker: "Hello, big brother, please, I mistakenly added the wrong number to my Facebook account, so I need to replace it with my number, but I am not receiving an OTP, so I decided to initiate the OTP on your number; could you please pass me the OTP?"

I was so dumped at that moment that I just felt like I was doing something for my brother.

To cut the story short, I noticed my Facebook account got logged out of my phone after sending the OTP to him, so I decided to call my brother and ask him what was going on; it was then that he told me his own account had been hacked an hour ago.

I have also made the mistake of sending $50 Tron to an address on telegram with the promise to release $500 to me earned from airdrop.

I have sent $100 to an address on Telegram too, all in the name of investing to get 50% in 12 hours.

So there are just lots of logics used by scammers that a newbie has not become too familiar with.

A warning I like to give newbies is to avoid every offer that seems too good to be true.

I've seen this happen and the log in of the exchange they share is not like Binance exchange, they are cheap looking exchange and if you log in you will be required to make deposits, see this whole thing is a game for those scammers.

They intentionally drop the recovery seed, when greedy people see the recovery seed they will go and import the seed behind the scene, thinking they are smart and that's when things will start going side ways.

It's not a new trick a and just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It was all intentional.

even a novice wouldn't be too hasty to make such a mistake. even if they reveal their large enough balance to tempt you to open their account.
currently, I see quite a lot of situations like this. and I'm sure there won't be enough people who can be fooled by scammers with such a model.

just remember to ourselves to stay focused on what we have. never be too greedy to see opportunities or other people's property.

Might be a little...off-topic, but kinda reminds me of those random followers in Twitter that poses as a hot girls, but would just bait you out for a dating scam which is another typical scams out there and they're targeting 30s to older people. How the crap would someone reach to certain stranger just to trust them randomly?

If trust is even earned, what more could be said for money as well?

I recall a lot of threads of what you mentioned. There are also those giving their PKs to you and entrusting you like "wut".

I'm not sure if they're the same. However, I have seen people on social media posting their secret phrases or private keys online and then asking for help because they don't know how to transact with the crypto they own and if anyone is willing to assist them. This is mostly done on the Tron network, which does not allow you to send assets in a wallet even if you have the secret phrase.

You need to wise up, in this world today, people don't give up something without wanting something back, nothing is actually for free, so if someone contacted you on Twitter, Telegram or any social media platforms saying they can make you rich by helping them or they played dump as if they can't operate their own wallet or account they are 100% scammers.

It's not even just today — it's pretty much the same since forever when talking about the internet/web. And unfortunately, delusional people will always exist — hence such scams will always exist. All we can do is to potentially lessen the number of victims a bit.

I don't believe that it's only being greedy while being unaware of the danger. I was also almost scammed through a Discord group when I was promised a higher yield on a smart contact. It wasn't greed, but being completely unaware of the dangers and being fooled by someone posing as a group administrator. As funny as it may sound, even experienced users may fall victim under certain circumstances. But yes, for the most part, people still think there's a way to earn money quickly, but unfortunately, there's no such thing. Telegram and Discord groups are filled with these scammers.

I will never respond to incoming messages like that. when an unknown person sends a message that he needs help to retrieve his assets or other things related to high money, of course it's a scammer. No need to believe in this bullshit, I also keep getting messages about all kinds of prizes up for grabs, but I don't feel like I'm taking on quizzes or contests of the sort.
Twitter, telegram which is the place for the most scammer messages. I blocked such an account from contacting me again.
Never believe in the big prize bullshit, nothing is instant and no one is going to give a lot of money to a stranger.

You need to wise up, in this world today, people don't give up something without wanting something back, nothing is actually for free, so if someone contacted you on Twitter, Telegram or any social media platforms saying they can make you rich by helping them or they played dump as if they can't operate their own wallet or account they are 100% scammers.
I hoped I heard this story in face to face with a friend. He told me that this is the latest scam that going on now. A cryptocurrency expert will contact you and give you his wallet details and tell you that he can't transfer the coin because he has lost private key but the person can transfer the coin and in that process once the person enter the wallet he will see the coins live and the scammer would tell you to deposit a particular amount to transfer the money and once you pay your money and the coins all together would be moved to another wallet. I just thank God for the information my friend gave me. So everyone should be careful.

As I previously stated, I'm not sure if it's the same as the one in Op because I've never seen or heard of anyone sharing their login details for an exchange with others unless they're having mental issues.
