It is likely that I expressed my ideas not good enough, but my original ideas are the same as of The Pharmacist.
Users in the forum, especially lower-ranked ones, tend to over-use "Sir, Mr., etc" as the way they thought effectively to beg for merits, campaigns, etc.

I don't see reasons to call someone I don't know, have not met before in real-life situation with Sir, Mr., etc.

I agree. Be determined to improve yourself and you'll get what you deserve.





Mate, try to avoid using Sir, Boss or any Words like related to that. They don't like it that much.
I came around here with the same attitude and behavior and when I saw a thread about that and changed my perception about that use of respect here. Using such words is not at all wrong but others may have other feelings about it. Sometimes or most of the time is sarcasm.
I will update this post of mine when I searched it.

These are just your predispositions though. You should really teach yourself to ignore stuff that "pads out" posts in this way. Like saying things like "sir" and other manners people may use.

If you're a new user here, you don't know how ranks works and don't know whether they should respect people of higher ranks to them.
It's not always to ask if someone can remove the negative trust or a campaign rejection they got.

I don't get why there is so much against the use of a three letter word, there more issues here than people saying 'sir'.

Yep, and this is another example of the huge clash of cultures here on bitcointalk.  The people who use "sir" when applying for a sig campaign or asking for their well-deserved feedback to be removed are not just being polite.  They will say anything to get a spot in that campaign or to get a red trust rescinded, and the constant "sir" is just an extension of being disingenuous. 

I use "sir" as an informal sign of respect at my job, much the way a prison guard might call an inmate "sir".  That is much, much different than what we usually see on bitcointalk--and no matter how many times this gets pointed out, they still keep writing it.

I think most people just find it annoying in the way that it's used. It's usually always followed with a load of begging or whining by illiterate spammers who overuse it when they are pleading for their account back after being banned for spamming/copy and pasting or whatnot. I get that they're probably just trying to be polite, but it always just comes across as sycophant-ish and fake to me and many others seem to feel the same way.

No there is no chance to convert your good post to merit even after 20 years. What you mean good post? If good for you it dose not mean your post is good. If you make useful post for forum members then it will consider good post. If good for other you will get merit automatically. Some one will give you merit. Try to make some organic useful post in order to get merit. I was also same you. Try to help other and forum.

If you really want to benefit from this forum and earn merit it's definitely worthwhile to improve English skills, and learn how to post relevant information only. These skills are very important to have in life, not just in cryptocurrency.

Just using the first post as an example, your title is literally "Its just a question sir!". A title is supposed to tell people what to expect in the post. What does this title tell me? It says to me that this guy is asking a question about something. What is the question about? Who knows. It's really not a good title.

If you want a better title, make it related to what's in the post. Your post is about alternative ways to rank up, without needing merit. Therefore, your title should relate to this, instead of just having a title saying that your post is a question.
A better title would be: "How can I rank up without merit", "How can I improve to get more merit", "Please help me get merit". All of these titles tell people what to expect in your post.

Finally, cut down on the use of "sir". Nobody needs to call people "sir" online, and often it's a sign that the person isn't trustworthy, or at least not great at English. Look through every post on here, have you seen any posts receive merit when they include "sir" several times?

Take your time on learning to improve your communication skills, stop posting meaningless titles and asking if you can ask a question. When you see a post get merit, read it and try to understand why it was given merit.

There is no exception to the rules of the merit system. You are a part of this forum and you have to abide by the "code" of this forum. If you are going to spend your time shitposting across threads with nothing but utter garbage posts, reading which a healthy person would get retinal detachment or vitreous hemorrhage then dont bother coming to this forum anymore.

The problem is not the people. It is ton of shitposts they eject out from their shitholes which end up getting nursed by the mods. Improve that and this notion might change.

The sad truth is that most of the "third worlders" in this forum need all the bounties and signature campaigns to survive since those usually give them more money than their country's minimum wage. And when they don't have the time/opportunity to make an HQ post, they will just spam to get the money to feed their family or earn an extra. But still, I was not 100% serious with my post. I know that there are spammers from every part of the world and that not every "third worlder" is a spammer.

Actually, I'm also from a third world country, so I obviously have no problems with them . But the difference is that I don't need my weekly signature payment to survive. So I don't need to spam.

P.S: I truly never seen someone from a non third world country saying "sir".

Yes but there are non spammers that use the word "sir" also?
It's like a kid thinking you can't get negative numbers.

Be a bit more level headed in the way you view things both of you, otherwise, I'd put you in the category of ruining this world more than spammers.

What kind of problem do you have from people from the third world? Do you count them as not deserved to be on the forum or what? The guy is just trying to be polite.

Spammers ruined this word. I've never seen a non third world spammer using "sir".

So I kinda think like OP.

Honestly, I can not understand what you wrote because your English-broken thread.
Instead of composing such pseudo-English thread like this, you should spend your time to learn English.

OK - lets be positive here, and look at a couple of your posts.
That post is not only written in bad English, but it shows that you haven't even tried to understand the basics of Bitcoin, digital currencies, and crypto. The danger in thatr type of post is that it spreads misunderstanding of Bitcoin, and I think it should have been deleted.

Another spammer that is planning to make a living in this forum spotted. There's no need for you to wait for 10 years to rank up and earn in signature campaigns. The best thing for you to do is, find a decent paying job and move your lazy ass from that couch that you've been sitting all day just waiting for free stuff from the forum. There's no such thing as free money in here and your one liner posts won't get you to rank up. If you want to level up and gain some merits, you need to shift your focus on helping out this forum by making valuable and fruitful posts. Make an effort on reading and researching essential information for the benefit of the people coming into the forum.

Did you SEE what OP wrote?  No explanation that any person here could write is going to help.  I didn't even understand the question he asked, but from the words he used in it, it looks vaguely like stuff that's been asked hundreds of times already.  I think he should post it on whatever local board best suits him, because at least there he might have a shot at someone understanding it and posting an answer that'll get through to him.

But I strongly suspect OP is not here for those reasons.  There was a thread the other day where the guy was telling the community how--I'm paraphrasing this--his village taught him how to earn money on bitcointalk.  It was one of the craziest things I've read thus far on this forum.  OP is probably in a similar village.

You don't really need a high rank here. Its more what you have to say than the rank you are depending on what you're here for of course. If you're here for the right reasons: learn about crypto, spread the word or participate in meaningful discussion then you will likely earn merit and rank up from it.

My prediction is that the merit system will not last long enough for this to be a major issue.

However if you have a long history of contributing, but don't have sufficient merit to rank up, someone may decide to give you sufficient merit to rank up. 

Can I have a question sir? example if  I did not got the requirements merit to rank up  for a long time, may I ask if there are any exception of this system, example 10 years of trying to earn merit to rank up  by just making good quality post will be converted to minimum requirement merit to rank up, its that possible or there is no any exception for this new system ?
