I was in your exact same position at the beginning of november. Then I posted a photo of my block erupters on facebook, everybody showered me with questions, and I decided I'd blog my adventures for their benefit.

As pools go you might have noticed that I'm well into cexio because of their mergemining, cloudmining, and the way you can put spare mined coins into more mining speed, or trade them on the hi/low candles by hand or by tradebot for more profit.

And hey YariDjem sounds like it wouldn't hurt for you to hit cexio too, it's a shame to have the hashpower of a KnC and be missing out on the extra NMC, DVC and IXC you could be getting with 4-coin merge-mining (at no loss to your BTC mining rate)

I'd order a Neptune machine from Kncminer. We have a Jupiter that paid for itself in about 25 days hashing at 600Gh/s. The Neptune will be 5+ times faster at over 3000Gh/s or 3+ Th/s. Trouble is you need to pay now and it might be mid 2014 before you receive your machine. We joined a pool - Eliguis with no regrets. There are other pools with different options. I like the fact Eliguis pays out as soon as you have .17 BTC or more.

That's my opinion and experience - others might very well have other suggestions.

Good luck,
Bill

Hello
I am new to this btc world.
I purchased a couple dozen asic sticks so I could learn about mining at a low cost.
I have setup accounts a about a dozen exchanges.
It seems to take forever to get verified on each one but everyone had there first day at some point..

Here is my question to all the btc vets.
If you had ten grand and had to start today what would be your mining setup??
I prefer mining to trading as I have a day job and cannot obsess about daytrading...
I also have a few spare hours each day that I can devote to tinkering and researching.
(that is my nice way of saying - giving up or not participating is not a welcomed answer.)

I look forward to the answers
happy new year
-Tiki
