Along with Google, Facebook and Twitter, snapchat also joined the party. Few days later, we will see instagram to do the same. Mainly we will see a majority of the USA based companies will ban cryptocurrency advertising. The reason is not what we think.

One of my fellow community members has pointed out a genuine reason behind these bans. These companies are not bothered about our security of funds. Instead they are probably receiving pressure from US government to ban it so that the growth of cryptocurrency can be seized to the minimum level. Being an US company, they have no choice but to comply.

This is what I always say, this whole crypto thing is so new that people needs to have at least a minimum education to be able to deal with it safely... (if they care about safety... electricity is much more older than the cryptos but people are still drying their hair in the bath tube still.... well...)
The sad thing is that in the western countries, people are still not have the necessary education to deal with their fiat money (pyramid schemes, etc...) so it will not be easy to educate them about cryptos...

No i don't think they're planning to release their own token, why would they do that?

Unfortunately that's true, scammers can't be stopped, like stompix said people should be educated about the scams/scammers so they could avoid it.
Well, i think if google,facebook or twitter won't revise their advertising rules, decentralized ad networks will take over(they'll eventually will).

If their main purpose is to eliminate the scammers that uses their social media sites to scam people, then it's not guaranteed that they'll stop what they are doing. They can't even track the private groups/persons on Facebook/twitter where scams and pozi scheme is happening.... Lips sealed

Allow them to do so, twitter is a drop in the ocean compared to facebook and google. It will make little to no difference and I'm also fairly sure the decision will be reversed in a few years time once the ICO space is much better regulated.

Unfortunately this move won't stop the scammers you mentioned.
Those are normal users, they don't really buy ads for their petty scams, and they will continue to pray on gullible victims.

I would really want to see more from all those companies that claim they are acting against fake ICOs that is not just banning stuff ads while letting the sharing spam go unpunished.
It wouldn't hurt them to add a small alert line when you open a page that contains terms like ico, investing that would lead to a tutorial about the risks of investing in a shady scheme.
Education is the key and it would be far more efficient than a ban.

If we look at this objectively then can we really blame them? Go look at twitter with all the "Send me 1 ETH and I send you back 10 ETH" scams.
A lot of people are getting scammed, mostly new people who don't understand the first thing about the technology.

I think some GOOD regulation and prosecution of these scammers will clear the air and let the ads become legal again. But for now I personally do not hold it against google and facebook. It is understandable that they take legal risk for things like having bitconnect ads and so on.

Governments for the most part seem to welcome cryptocurrency, I think once they clear the air then we are good to go and can move forward. Good projects will suffer unfortunately without access to advertising, but itl turn out better for us in the long run.
Cryptojacking probably also plays a large role in this.
