HOW DO YOU GUYS SEND MONEY TO UNKNOWN PEOPLE??? My heart really goes out to you guys and its a shame because you wont trust anybody after being scammed. I almost got scammed about 4 times but was very lucky because I used an escrow service (IAN from coin-swap, but I think its an exchange now and do not know if its the same people that run it)  and was given my coins back after I took screen shots of EVERYTHING. USE ESCROW AND PAY THE EXTRA 2%!!!  There are also people here with positive feedback and hero members that would do it for free - transaction fees. Also do searches on google and here on forum before dealing with anybody.

These are his details and IP address:

http://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/ip-lookup.php?ip=1.47.40.201

I hope bitcointalk can block his IP
This would be pointless as he can easily hide his IP via a VPN and his ISP will eventually assign him a new IP

anonymous22 you were scammed? I've dealt with you before, you don't deserve to be scammed. You offered me such a good starbucks gift card deal. This was for western union right? Be VERY careful when dealing with WU or paypal, because the non-bitcoin transactions are reversible, but bitcoin isn't. Also try to use an escrow whenever possible.

It was for $50 BTC and he scammed my friend too for $50 in BTC. Thanks man for your good words.

can you check with Theymos?   The Skype conversation did make a reference to account back door

The account was CREATED on July 12 at 20:19 UTC.

With his first post, he was already posting about being scammed on July 12 at 20:25 UTC, although at that time he was saying it was a "friend" that got scammed, and not himself:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7810189

By July 13 10:46 UTC (just 14 hours after creating the account), he was claiming that it was he himself that was scammed rather than a "friend":

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7818063

Until he was accused of stealing the bitcoins, he never made any effort to announce that his bitcointalk account was hacked and that he had recovered control of it.

By Jul 14, 21:34:59 UTC the account already had the 1KAQ1qPcGPrzLuddSnc9mn95tpXb7HrDqZ address in the sig.

He then proceeds to offer:

1.5 hours later, he accuses me of lying about him when I discover that the 1KAQ1qPcGPrzLuddSnc9mn95tpXb7HrDqZ was in his account sig.

Take a look at his posting history:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/nubwo-354870

Tell me if you see anything that indicates that his account was taken over by someone else during the 3 days between when he created it and when I discovered the use of the 1KAQ1qPcGPrzLuddSnc9mn95tpXb7HrDqZ address.

Theymos is welcome to come here and clear this up if he likes, but do you really think the stuff that nubwo is saying makes sense?

Interesting, it seems to me that he wants to save his account after scamming OP.

To OP, sorry to hear your loss, but as others have said, you should have used escrows especially when you are trading with a newbie account with no trust at all.

Looks like the scammer is probably going to gamble away your money at LuckyBit.

Or could he just be using it as a way to launder it.

Isn't Luckybit an on-chain game and the site will pay you back what you have gained (or left after losing) in the bet with your tx output?

$100 for 10 hours? Give me what you're smoking. Seriously though, In my country people work for $3000 a YEAR and some for $15 a day, you get much more than this. Still, sorry you got scammed.
Same here, around $15-20 a day which is insane. These days you can't trust anyone on btctalk.

Where the heck do you live??? I make about 25 dollars per hour at a job I got right out of college, which in the area I live in is considered good as the cost of living here is cheap. Rent is only 525 a month groceries like 400 a month and gas(I commute 2 hours a day) is about 400 a month. So typically per week I bring in 2,450 after taxes.

1. He doesn't need to launder it.
2. Don't download shit, srsly man. I can't believe my eyes every time I read a post like this how someone who isn't challenged in some sort of way could get scammed.

Be happy it was just 100 bucks. Lots of people have been scammed for way more.

i got robed myself and some backdoor installed and someone used my account to post this 'wallet' adresse ..

and used it today

my wallet "was" before he took it over : 1M9UvCqTRyuy9Bg2q5MF3bN72ERdmH4M8N

Leaving negative feedback on my trust page isn't a good way to convince other people that you are trustworthy and that your account was hacked.

I pointed out that, as recently as yesterday, the sig on your account was the same bitcoin address as the bitcoin address used by the thief.  There is no way for me, or any of the rest of us, to know that your account was hacked yesterday.
If your account was hacked, there is no way for us to know that you regained control of your account.
Why should any of us believe that you are not the same person that changed the sig to the thief's address?

Oh wow, so this is basically social engineering. I'm amazed how many people just install everything people ask them to onto their machines - Don't get me wrong, I'm terribly sorry for that guy, but it really really amazes me. People, be careful, this is like letting people into your house without supervision for an undefined amount of time.

Just pray that God will judge him accordingly.  That is what I do.

My husband and I had our car stolen.  We were young and had very little money and did not even have enough to get another one at that time.  It was hard.  I felt so violated and I was so ticked off.  I then just prayed that God would deal with the person and then I had peace about it.  That same night I saw on TV two guys that had been stealing the same kind of cars in the LA area ended up crashing into a tree and they died instantly.  Now granted, I am not sure these were the same guys at all, but what I do know from past experience is that God is better at handling these sort of things.  Some people call it Karma.  I just say that God says, "vengeance is mine" and handing things over to Him is an act of trusting Him.  Of course, it would be better if people like this would repent and then give you your money back!  That would be better for everyone involved, or if they never stole anything to begin with.  But unfortunately that is not the world we live in. Sad

You got it , BitChick.  NO ONE escapes Karma.

You should NEVER download things from untrusted sources/users.

Personally, I would deal with only TRUSTED members.
Even so, I wouldn't download something a random person would send me.

You should also only trust wallets such as Blockchain, Coinbase, or a wallet stored in your hard drive.

Sorry to hear that you got scammed...just remember that unless you are dealing with a registered legal entity there is literally nothing to stop these people scamming you. There are plenty of escrow services on here, I would advise you use them whenever you do a deal. It's better to spend some extra time in escrow than to risk losing your funds.

That is a shame. In a way you should consider yourself lucky. That is a pretty low price for the lesson compared to what others have lost in that type of scam. Never send first and never accept payment in a way that can be reversed.

The thing is, I have been scammed plenty of times before. This isnt the first time, just the first time in a while.

You have to take steps to protect yourself. There are people on this forum that will even do escrow for free. I am very sorry you were scammed.

Terminated.

So I guess this is what I get for trying to restore my faith in people, I get fucked over. I have just been scammed by a member on here for BTC0.1652.

To many people that may not seem like a lot. But for that money I have to work 10 hours, 10 hours for someone who gets a kick taking advantage of people.

I was just trying to do honest business and I thought I could work with this guy. I even sent him more than I initially told him. I told him I would send half first, he sends the whole $100 thorough WU, then I pay him the other half after.

Instead, after he sent me "confirmation" that he sent payment, I decided to be nice and send the other half. I go out of my way to pick up money which isnt even waiting for me. I dont know what to do anymore.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do.  You can try reporting the theft to you local law enforcement, but they probably aren't going to be much help.

What was the address that you sent the bitcoins to?

In the future, when engaging in a transaction with someone that you aren't sure if you can trust, use escrow.  There are several escrow providers that have established a trustworthy reputation in this thread here:

trading via private messages with someone you cant grab hold of to slap their face or even know enough real life credible details to send a court order too...im just speachless!

remember bitcoin does not need trust as bitcoin is secured by maths. but users.. USERS need to gain trust of each other and USERS need to do some proper due diligence before sending money.

remember this next time.
if someone walked by you on the street and said "if you give me $100, ill walk to this shop and get you $120 worth of xyz.". would you do it?

think about that long and hard. then think, if he wasnt stood infront of you, knowing he could walk away.. but was sending you an email, where you never even see his face or know where he is from, would you do it then?

unless you know someone well dont do person-to-person trades unless it is using escrow. even localbitcoin can escrow the bitcoins and allow you to check a western union payment is received for you to then authorize the payment to forward on to the recipient.

why oh why do people still do private trades with strangers without escrow.. the mind boggles

a cheap learning lesson for you. bitcoin payments are irreversible, so you always have to look out for yourself. don't trust strangers, because there is no good reason to.
