In my honest opinion if Japan can/will be the next big destination for iGaming Operators. As we all know Japan does have a good operators and developers for the games they make. They also have great technology and i'm sure they'll creating a smooth gambling platforms and iGaming operators. We don't know for sure if when it will happen.
Japan has got everything supportive to move for the next level in advancement. In particular when government gives support automatically we'll get to experience tremendous growth in each and every sector. In Japan government always look for the benefits that the people get out of the same rather than its own benefits. If the government finds gambling sector to be beneficial to common people surely can see Japan to be the next igaming destination.
I strongly agree if Japan is as mentioned above. I personally have never been to Japan and do not know exactly what it looks like. But Japan for technology is indeed very developed and we have to admit that. So, I really agree if Japan is a big destination for iGaming operators.
With their good development Japan can cater this without any doubts, if they are really into this then it would bring new height for this industry,
government from this country is being known for its good leadership so it will be nice to see how well it will be handled around.
The iGaming industry in Japan is considered to be passing through a golden phase of all tine and that it has been very profitable lately. According to the game revenue, Japan was ranked third worldwide in the gaming industry and was generating over $19 billion a year according to the statistics of 2018. The sale performance of the gaming industry has been impressive.

Of course! We cannot underestimate Japan for being a industrialised country. When it comes in igaming, I believe that they will not let them to be obsolete. Wherein fact, they are the starters of early online games as well as anime. Japan is revolutionary in technological advancement. They can make igaming and launch it through cryptocurrency.
As esports/igaming very popular nowadays in sounds that one of these days will one country becoming a host depending on the numbers of igaming enthusiast. I know the people in Japan loves this igames especially for the current generation, and this is not all about games but also the government itself is benefiting from this. There is big money here and it is an opportunity for igame lovers also to expose more about this.

Japan is very attractive market for the iGaming operators so they will do their best to get into that market.

Many younger people from Japan like to play the game, and they are a very good player. And if the iGaming can give many benefits to them, I am sure that the market for the iGaming will explode in Japan and they will get more player from Japan. Besides that, if that is successful in attracting more player in Japan, I am sure that in the other country, it could attract more new players too.
You would be surprised to know that Pachinko industry which is a pinball game that enables you to gamble and has over 12,000 parlor across the country and this as a result of gambling has added a gross revenue of $167.5 billion is a great thing you know. This is something very special about japan and I think it will boost the economy of the country immensely.

Wow, really? I am amazed to know about 12,000 parlor you said especially with $167,5 billion of the gross revenue. I can imagine how much money the revenue from the industry, and I think the gambling industry will have a big profit. Yes, I am sure that it will boost the economy of the country because people like to gamble and they will spend much money on having fun.

Well Japan is one of the best destination when it comes to tourism due to it's beautiful tourist destination, hospitality and discipline. With regards to Japan being a hot spot for iGaming destination I think this will be great since we all know Japanese are creative in many ways and also they are really advance in regards to technology, this is an advantage if they will be making online-casinos.
Agree with that, and the best place were good to gamble and most fast when it comes to technology and the environment is peaceful and suitable to gamble, so its possible that it is the next destination. Because people  are really like in gambling, it can help also to there economy to make fast growth.

I'm not from Japan but if Japan is interested to be a hub of iGaming operators they are capable of doing that, they are a technology giant, and this could add more tourist to Japan, and we all know how good Japan is handling everything about new technology, one of the proof is the cryptocurrency.

Igaming operators will find it easier if country like Japan is adopting to bring such convenience for the operators then other countries can think the same. They can also get in touch with such activities but they should make sure all the things go in the right way. Japan besides this honor is the world’s top place for the open use of crypto coins and we can see many people are involved in crypto business.
Because Japan is the biggest gaming population when it comes iGaming digital industry especially in digital modern gaming and it is second largest in Asia behind Macau. That's why igaming operators had a business there because of the country of Japan had a massive adoption on igaming and they called it iGamingBusiness.com. For sure it will be involved crypto related business since crypto is a part of digital currency.

Any country if think that the future is crypto and crypto is their then they have a great future. Countries should act the same way as Japan is working for the extension of crypto currency market. The igaming operators will have great time in Japan because they will have all the facilities and opportunities to make dreams come true. The biggest hub of cryptocurrency is no doubt Japan as what tells the sign.

Japan is a quite unique country and Im not entirely sure its as open to tourism as many places because tourists can be so disruptive and even disrespectful which is contrary to their culture.   Every country wants tourism in theory but its not free money, it comes with a burden on society to deal with these outsiders.
As far as developing online hosting I can see that as more likely and I believe Japan for some time will be favourable to crypto and will not change their weak currency policy as its been that way for decades now
Yes there is no doubt in the fact that Japan is unique when it comes to technological innovation and making money with technology. There have been so many international conferences on iGaming in Japan lately and I think that the talent of the online gamers is insane in the country. Of course this conference will result in great interest of investors and gamers from around the world in Japan.
If you compare Japan with the developing countries, you would find a gap of 200 years which means that Japan has been growing very efficiently especially when it comes to IT and eGaming. This conference is going to focus the entire world’s attention over Japan and Japan will get huge investment as a result of conducting such conferences. Currently Japan has a third spot in the list of countries famous for iGaming.
Yes this is going to be very epic in days to come. Japan has been among the top gaming countries in the world and is ranked on position number three #3 in the list of the leading iGaming countries around the world. I think that this conference will bring some good amount of investment in Japan and will further improve the figure if the country on international forum.

Japan must be really desperate for new tourists and new investors,in order to provide such liberal gambling legislation and infrastructure.I guess that their economic growth isn't enough so they are moving towards lucrative industries such as gambling.
A developed country like Japan really needs to think for adoption like this. We know that the industry of gambling continues to soar high so its a good chance now for Japan to be a new gambling hub in Asia and I believe this will be supported by many Gamblers in Japan.

Japan has always been pioneer in accepting technologies. They are the ones who were first to accept crypto and make it legalize. Many tourists will be attracted  to Japan and they must be aiming to become the gaming hub of the region.

That is because Japan can open their mind about new technology and they can accept the new things that already come. They have a limited source, but they never give up to learn something new, and they will use it if they found the benefits. We know that Japan is already one of the gaming company among the other country and that country is familiar with gambling games too. Besides that, Japan was one of the countries that accepting crypto besides Korea and that will bring more adoption from the people.

Just last year in 2018, Japan managed to clear the legal hurdles to obtain their Integrated Resort (IR) which is a nomenclature for casino resorts.

The Integrated Resort project refers to a comprehensive entertainment complex that incorporates facilities like shopping malls, theaters, hotels and theme parks. These types of resorts should be ready and developed by 2025 also thanks to the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In addition to being a potential hot spot for casinos, Japan is also a very attractive destination for international visitors. Based on the reports from Japan’s National Tourism Organization, Japan welcomed nearly 16 million visitors in the first half of 2018, which is up 16% from last year!

Given the importance of the region, there will be a Japan Gaming Congress being held on May 16-17, 2019 at the Conrad Tokyo in Japan.

For igaming operators Japan is a best place and even all those places where no restriction on gambling is great. In such places both the online and traditional casinos are open and of full time availability. Its great news like other technological achievements Japan is good to be the next destination for igaming operators which will provide more opportunities and will make it easy for gamblers on advance level.

Betting on horse and motor racing is legal while other gamblings are not--according to Wikipedia.
It is strange that gambling is illegal in a  country as developed as Japan.  I guess they tolerate this one because it is a combination of gambling and gaming

But I heard Japan is anticipating the legalization of casino gambling in the country, which is exactly why it already started its plans on building integrated resorts. Soon enough, the country will have a booming brick-and-mortar gambling industry, followed by a bigger online betting service sector.

Japan had a strange mix of repressive laws till fairly recent years, like I can remember when I was younger they banned any skirt being above the knee and police would actively patrol and stop citizens not obeying this important law.
At the same time Japan was one first places in the world to legalise abortion in the 1948 for any reason during pregnancy.   This was out of fear for a population crisis where the reality is now Japan has lack of young people afaik

I can well believe they have plenty more quirky rules still, big problem I can think of one of the worlds harshest drug policies

Cmon man, don't try promoting your website that way, better to publish articles with solid informations. Japan won't become big destination for iGaming operators at least in near future. If we talk about attractivness of countries, then France is first where Japan is 100% lose, then comes Italy, England, Germany and others.

I tried to read up past comments or post if there are Japan citizens who do speak out about this matter but it seems theres no one who can verify such current

gambling situation into this country but since we can make presumptions basing on their possible actions that they would made ahead. If they do consider out
to be a big hot spot on igaming then theres no doubt that they would embrace it and opening Japans doors for operators would be a good chance to make business.

I'm not Japanese but let me just share my thoughts. It's very weird that the Japanese government suddenly made a U-turn regarding their tough laws against gambling, it's a criminal offense as far as I know. Neighboring countries like Macau and even the Philippines and Singapore is the destination if you wanted to play on casino's on the Asian region so it really surprises me to see that they are now opening their doors.
I do really like as Japanese government has to allow igamble in the country and since Japan is one country that is highly disposed to cryptocurrencies and blockchain I do be that most of the blockchain related gambling sites are going to take advantage of this to expand their business.

I read Japan has some cities and roads so clean even the gutters contain fish in them.   Thats a pretty foreign almost impossible idea to most of us from the majority of cities in the world, there is often litter everywhere and dirt and pollution that would wipe out anything sensitive like this quite quickly.

I imagine Japan similar to China needs to declare a special area of development and commerce on gambling and open tourism so that the wider country is not so disturbed as it might be otherwise.

Agree, they kept their traditions and cultures being preserved and for that even their tourist spots needs to  be well taking cared, they will not allow outsiders to ruined what they've already have decades ago, they value things and it will stay that way.

Regarding to iGaming, Japan have also advance knowledge with tight securities which can be an advantage as they can facilitate this business properly
and can secures investors/gamblers money in the right manners.

We don't know how they are open to gambling games in their country. But for the iGaming destination, I think they can be a good destination as we know that many games were created by the Japanese people so I think they can build one game with the money involved. That will be a good idea to attract more investor and tourist to come to Japan and maybe we will see competition in Japan, and I am sure that it will attract players to contribute.

This can be a significant change for Asia when the number of casinos licensed is minimal. Building and linking casinos along with resorts are one of the great ideas when you can comfortably enjoy this series of services during vacations. But online gambling platforms are gradually replacing casinos as you can enjoy these games via smartphone or laptop anywhere.

Japan is one of the most supportive country for bitcoin and cryptocurrency so I see no problem if they will be considered as the Igaming operators or the biggest in the world, and besides there isn’t no impossible thought on this one.
But it will still depend on that country because I believe that Japanese is not that addicted to gambling compared to other countries

Though they are not addicted into gambling but Japan is one of the tourist hubs in Asia. So those tourists or foreigners will flock into this country because of this additional entertainment industry. They are one of the best destinations out there because of the people and their environment. One of the kindness people on earth.

Well, This type of thing is pretty normal with Japan, And apart not being a Japanese this is one of my number 1 country that I would like to make a tour or visit, Because just like what you have said of the culture and heritage and the most kindness people on the earth and most entertaining,

And regarding the gaming industry or gambling industry in the country of Japan I guess they are really open about it, But most gambling casino's and online or not I guess it is all regulated by law and regarding other parts of the countries that are besides japan I really think that Macau and the Philippines are open with these kind of attractions as well, But it is all under the jurisdiction of law.

So those tourists or foreigners will flock into this country because of this additional entertainment industry. They are one of the best destinations out there because of the people and their environment. One of the kindness people on earth.

All advance technologies is there and this kind of things is no surprising at all. To the fact that even Satoshi Nakamoto lives obviously in there. Besides, the discipline and respect Japanese people has is irreplaceable. It will not have any chaos even they put a gambling site in there. Its somehow a good idea why its placed there.
It's not that they have to place it everywhere but they only have a place to set the gambling activity and everyone could easily find it even though they really ban gambling in their country before. I think the Japanese government has to make a decision if they want their economy to be more successful and with the internet today and technology advance everyone could play it even in their own home.

Macau definitely. I don't remember if Philippines finally got it's own gambling complex, they're more spread out. Not sure about Singapore, I was under the impression that their government discourage it.

This just might work though. The Communist Party seems to be trying to wean Macau off gambling.

Japan is one of the most supportive country for bitcoin and cryptocurrency so I see no problem if they will be considered as the Igaming operators or the biggest in the world, and besides there isn’t no impossible thought on this one.

Exactly and trust me this is going to be epic. Japan has been among the top destination when it comes to tourism and has been making good revenue from its tourism industry but the iGaming thing is going to attract more people. Gamers go wherever they find an opportunity to make money. iGaming contests are also held in Brussels and they get so many iGaming tourists from around the world which is a credit in their BOP sheet.

I don't see why casinos would suddenly move from Curacao to Japan all of a sudden.
Perhaps the location, not to mention Curacao is just small island and I guess the article never mentioned that casinos will be move in Japan. It's more like an addition for the igaming industry.

While apparently they see the bigger opportunity in Japan and sees the gamblers are mostly Asian and so they think it will be more accessible if they bring the igaming industry, after all Japan is a tourist destination.

So yeah, why not?

Japan resort and casino industry have been a one stop sport for igaming operators in recent time with it government friendly law have regulated the gambling industry and given it a legal framework to operate within. I believe in no time from now the same is going to happen to online gambling where bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be used by they igaming operators.

That will not be a good decision by the Japanese government to ban the gambling or consider it as an criminal activity and due to online availability of gambling, it will be difficult to ban in it completely.

I am not from Japan but definitely, I can say that Japanese people are one of the most kind and disciplined individuals. They will kill themselves if they are caught with wrongful acts. So corruption is not really a problem in that country where iGaming industry is known to have that long-running problem. I believe, they will do the right things when it comes to handling this business.

Well, Japanese are people who do abide by the rules and regulations of the countries and if gambling will be banned, they will not use illegal ways to play gambling.
Well you are right. Gambling being illegal in Japan would not attract many hard rockers but I think people who badly want to gamble find ways out to gamble. Like RACE in sports is something you could gamble or bet on and there are I think four kinds of races run and gambled on in Japan prominent among which is Horse racing. Yeah there might be local casinos as well.

Japan seriously needs to consider changing its laws regarding gambling. The country is losing billions of USD in revenue every year, as the gamblers are traveling to Macau and Thailand to take part in various gambling activities. Also, technology has made the world much closer than before and it is not viable to have the activity banned in one country and allowed in another.

Japan must be really desperate for new tourists and new investors,in order to provide such liberal gambling legislation and infrastructure.I guess that their economic growth isn't enough so they are moving towards lucrative industries such as gambling.

I am not from Japan, but let's look at facts rather than speculate. We know that Japan is particularly friendly towards cryptocurrencies. Regarding gambling, I think I remember reading about Japanese gambling the hell lot more often than others, but I cannot find the source.
Now to legislation. Technically, gambling (with exceptions like sports bets) is banned in Japan. However, rather recently it was allowed to make casinos as a part of the resorts the op mentioned. So if people decide to come to Japan for gambling, they'll go to posh places with all sorts of things apart from casinos.
But who needs to actually travel to a different country to gamble, when it can be done online Cheesy

Changes can really happen anytime with these countries yet government can either approved or blocked according to their own liking and jurisdiction thats why im ain surprised if they do open its doors which is actually an advantage thing for gamblers on that place and also maybe they do realize that theres no point on blocking gambling anyway. They do rather or might consider on having some sort of taxation consideration.

Macau seem to have active gambling law in the region and same in Philippines where they do have casinos at every city. I don't know if the religion in the country like Macau and Philippines has something to do with losetight law about gambling. Japan may be starting to look into gambling tourism as they recently open their country that anyone can visit.

The gambling industry is flourishing in Asia and Philippines is surely a place where their a lot of physical casino. If any country for example Japan ban gambling, then it can lose not only revenue but also it will give bad name in terms of tourism etc. Even the citizens of that country, will not be happy with the government if they ban gambling.

I don't see why they would suddenly become the next big destination for igaming operators.
There are so many countries to choose from, all of which have established lax laws surrounding online gambling.

I don't see why casinos would suddenly move from Curacao to Japan all of a sudden.

that might be true but once they welcome this, casino investors will flock for new opportunity. they may not be the next big destination but just a new igaming destination.
its surprising to see japan all of a sudden is doing this, but i guess them being one of the first who also adopted BTC and crypto is an influence.

I don't know about test, wouldn't they just stick to the tried and tested countries?
I mean there are pretty amazing ways out there to fully set up companies in Curacao for example.

Okay, that might also be the case with Japan in the future, but I reckon they're not there just yet.

As far as I know, there are a lot of Japanese gamblers around the world, but Japan is totally against it that's why you won't see them playing in their country. But if this opens the door, I'm sure it will be a boom in their gaming industry. So this is very interesting development, as Japanese players travels around the globe just to play but now it will be homegrown.

Every country has its fair share of kind and corrupt individuals and acting like Japan is some kind of heavenly zone is utter stupidity. Japan has its fair share of problems(Environmental disasters etc), but they managed to develop some of the best tech on the planet, but this in no way means that this will be the next big destination for iGaming operators.

It all comes down to the government in power at that point of time(Gambling supporters or haters).

I regard the Japanese as one of the most intelligent races on the planet. But at the same time, some of their laws and regulations are still stuck at pre-WW2 era. For example, although porn is legal in Japan (the biggest market in terms of turnover), it is mandatory for the producers to pixelate the private parts. Gambling is also illegal as per the Criminal Code chapter 23. Now what happens is that the Japanese government loses tax revenue, as the Japanese gamblers travel to countries such as Hong Kong and Macau to participate in gambling.

With regards to Japan being a hot spot for iGaming destination I think this will be great since we all know Japanese are creative in many ways and also they are really advance in regards to technology, this is an advantage if they will be making online-casinos.

I like Japan even if I haven't been able to go there, but I have friends that lives there and they are saying I should go there to experience new ambiance and new people. I couldn't imagine how would be the gaming centers and casinos out there but I am sure that it will be more what we will expect, this country just never stops to amaze me.

Wow! Until now Japan never fails me to get amazed with their of living. I mean, how ironic that they are only a small country where scarcity of resources is expected but still they achieved being ine of the richest country in the whole world. For me it was a great move for them to enlarge their gambling industry in a sense that it encourages foreigners to visit their country thus resulting to much livelier tourism which leads to huge open job opportunities foe their countrymen. But aside from that, they should be strict for implementing rules and regulations as well to place all things in order, if most of the Japanese people are naturally obsessed playing with video games then what more if what they're playing now involves money Cheesy.

I can't say much about the actual life in Japan, but yes, I think they are perfect for this kind of business.
Gaming or gambling industry is no doubt a corruption haven.
So being located in Japan, investors are confident that they are dealing with principled individuals.
That's a good boost to their gaming industry, aside from the fact that Japan is really a great tourist destination in Asia.

That could be true as we know that Japan is a big country which made so many gaming offline and online. And with the approval of the cryptocurrency, the iGaming can grow in Japan. I do not come from Japan so I don't know what is going on in Japan and I can only guess. But let's wait for Congress, so we know what will happen later in Japan. And if in Japan, iGaming can grow fast, then I think that will soon impact the other country, and it will attract more player.

I'm not sure about how well this is going to work because as far as I know gambling is still banned in most of the countries from Asia and those that accept it have very strict regulations. Macau is the only country that fully accepts gambling and betting but that's a different story because this country has its own government and rules. This collaboration between Japan and iGaming will surely be profitable as long as people will be able to gamble freely. Obviously we cannot expect gambling to be the same in Japan as the rest of the world because they are just accepting it but at least I guess it will be better than it is in the rest of the countries in Asia.

Source: Is Japan the Next Big Hot Spot Destination for iGaming Operators?

Is there anyone among you from Japan? Can you tell us about the situation of the gambling industry in the country as of the present? Or perhaps can you tell us if you agree with the idea that Japan is set to become a big hot spot iGaming destination?
