Due to the belief that Bitcoin is a get quick rich scheme in some quarters, some Bitcoiners have been very skeptical to introduce it to some friends and colleagues.
This isn't the case as you put it, Bitcoin is not a quick rich scheme and to prove that, ask anyone who bought BTC at $50k and $60k, and they will tell you ʌðəwʌɪz (otherwise) but when you ask those who bought 3-4 years ago will tell you it is profitable and not quick, 4 years of holding bitcoin would feel like 10 years in real life. Quick rich investments are often tagged as Ponzi, bitcoin is far from that class.
Thank you for your comments. I suggest you read the line carefully because I never stated that Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme. I only highlighted that some people believe Bitcoin would make them rich quick and because of that most Bitcoiners are skeptical to introduce Bitcoin to them. I recently introduced Bitcoin to my cousin and he was comparing it to some shitcoins investment scheme that promises to give people 49% returns in one month. His actions might discourage me from further discussions.
Is a 'bitcoin academy' necessary? Why the clamor to teach bitcoin all of a sudden. If someone wants to learn about bitcoin, there are a plethora of materials on the internet to get started already, and if that person is curious enough, then they will find out about bitcointalk forum and register here, and the learning process continues, people who sincerely want to learn about bitcoin, always find out about this forum in one way or another.
Bitcoin academy and its courses to me feels like pulling uninterested people to learn about bitcoin because of celebrities are in charge of it, and they sense they can gain something from it; everything to learn about bitcoin is on the internet, and from there you find bitcointalk.
Bitcoin education is key to it's adoption and advancement. Be it seminar, academy, conventional or non-conventional education people need to hear and learn about the opportunities Bitcoin offers. One of the biggest obstacle to the success of Bitcoin in Central African Republic (CAR) and El Salvador is lack of awareness or knowledge of Bitcoin process. NGOs are investing huge human and financial resources to ensure that the inhabitants of these nations become conversant with Bitcoin.
It might be strange to you that most people in CAR don't have access to the internet or electricity. How would they learn from the internet.Jay Z and his partners are doing a tremendous work and they are even giving out free WiFi and smart phones. This program will really go a long way in empowering interested participants. We must learn to appreciate every effort made by anybody to ensure that even one person learn about Bitcoin.
