And as many of you predicted, Jerwin was impressive in this fight. But he needs to step up and challenge other 115 lbs champions like WBC's Juan Francisco Estrada or WBO's Kazuka Iota. Or move up to 118 lbs and chase Inoue.

I hope Sean Gibbons, the MPP boss would seek for a unification fight with the camp of Estrada, this would be the fight Jerwin is longing for and this will test his power and speed before moving up to the heavier division.

I will now lock this thread as the fight has happened for more than 24 hours ago.

Thanks for your comments and speculations of the fight.

About my bet, sadly i lost because i bet that it would go for 12 rounds for 3.60, knock-out for Jerwin is only 1.30.

I watched round 5 and 6 of the fight, this Gonzalez was really outclassed by Jerwin. However, I'm not totally sold on his performance, as compare to let's say Casimero. Maybe it was because of the opposition in front of him, but if he did face other champion in his decision, he will be in a tough fight let's say Estrada.

Well it's good that he won and successful on his 8th title defense. But it was not very impressive, missed a lot of shots and he looks very awkward, IMHO. But congrats anyways.

A win is still a win, style makes fight so perhaps Jerwin wasn't able to showcase his full talent because of the way Gonzales fight. And for the record, he is not the original fighter that he supposed to face so somewhere along the way his preparation was different against a type of fighter like Gonzalez.

But I would agree that he should really face tougher opponents or even champion vs champion here. He had defended his belt many times so it's time for him and MP promotions to look for bigger fights in the future to see how good Jerwin really is.

It was not impressive because he is fighting it seems a second rate boxer, but Ancajas has a good strategy digging though the body with a well placed body punch, great win that he dominate him but his promoter should get a good fighter to prepare him to a unification bout.

More odds now available in the market, though I like Ancajas but I won't bet on him this time as I like big odds for bigger return  Grin

I'm thinking of putting a small bet on the following lines.

Gonzalez, Miguel Angel by decision  for x26
DRAW x 40

These are the biggest odds I see and I like them.  Smiley

How much amount you are betting on these two odds.
Bigger odds may give you big wins but it also increases the chances of your loses.

Just a very small amount, that's for fun, (but I loss so it doesn't matter anymore)...

Same here, hopefully Jerwin will prove us wrong when he fights a fighter which who can really give a good fight on him.
This is a great news although it was very obvious at the beginning that Ancajas is the heavy favorite, still a win is a win and as a Filipino I'm proud of it.

Good news to all Pinoys out there, Anjacas won via referee stoppage in the 6th round.

Quote
Jerwin Ancajas stopped Miguel Gonzalez in round six Saturday night at the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico.

With the victory, Angajas (32-1-2, 22 KOs) made the eighth successful defense of the IBF junior bantamweight title.

Jerwin Ancajas won this match easily and Gonzalez was unable to stand in the 6th round of the match. I think Ancajas should be aiming at more tough opponents in 2020. He has got stamina and potential.

Gonzalez, Miguel Angel by decision  for x26

Basic thing to think on.! Of course, where higher odds does signify being least favorite among the two and its just normal to have these numbers.
There are really some gamblers who do try their luck on hitting some upset matches which would give out these kind of results.Even though they do
put up small amounts but for a x26 x40 then i shall say those amounts would be considerable to be called as a worthy win.He risked up to those bets
even we do see the disadvantage but we wont know on what would happen ahead. So chances is still there.

Wow, what a risky but interesting bets you take if one of those bet will win the outcome is really enjoyable. That particular odds if you will be lucky. With regard to Ancajas the ML is too low risking your money if you win you will get a little profits but if shit happened then you lose a lot. Though seems that bookmakers seen that the advantage of Filipino boxer's is huge that's why they have this one.

This would be an easy fight for Ancajas. I see this as a tune-up fight before fighting some big names in his division.
\
We never know, he must not take this fight for granted, this is the year of upsets, First Ruis then Casimero, so it's better to take this seriously, Ancajas is such a good fighter that he must take every fight seriously, I predict Ancajas winning by knock out and hopefully it will happen.

Just 12 hour remaining before we see Jerwin Ancajas and Miguel Gonzalez in action. Based upon the odds the Gonzalez may be favorite but Ancajas cannot be ignored.

Check out the below prediction !!!
Quote
Who will win: Ancajas or Gonzalez?
Ancajas and Gonzalez are boxers who play in different leagues.
Jerwin Ancajas will win by technical knockout.

Below are the weigh-in results of the main event and co-main event fights in Mexico happening in less than 24 hours.

Emanuel Navarrete 122 lbs vs. Francisco Horta 122 lbs
(Navarrete's WBO Junior Featherweight world title — 12 Rounds)

Jerwin Ancajas 115 lbs vs. Miguel Gonzalez 114.8 lbs
(Ancajas' IBF Junior Bantamweight world title — 12 Rounds)

I am not so impressed with Ancajas honestly.

Ohh, what's the reason why you don't like this kid bro? This kid is a no non-sense and just train hard for his fights, no trash talking, whatsoever.

There are a lot of odds for this fight on Sportsbet now.

Yah! saw that and it seems like they just updated it recently.

I'll predict a knock-out here so Ancajas (3.10) by knock out, not bad, a triple return of your money since Ancajas can knock out opponents as shown in his fight record.

Good luck Jerwin and defend that belt with pride.
That would be sweet if you'll win, him being the heavy favorites might dominate his opponent but the opposite could also happen.
I'll definitely watch this game if there's a free live streaming for this but I am not so impressed with Ancajas honestly.

Thank you for opening this thread,  Smiley.

Was wondering what happened to Ancajas as he slips on my radar. So it's good to see him defend his crown from unknown Miguel Gonzalez. And yes that odds are not good, just probably enjoy watching this fight. Take note that this is will be Jerwin's 8th title defense of his IBF junior bantamweight belt, pretty impressive.

This is some sort of a little tribute to Ancajas as he is one of the remaining few Filipino boxing champion. Talent-wise, i would rank him second to Manny as this kid got talent and a knock-out artist also. He is supposed to fight Jonathan Rodriguez of Mexico but that fight was cancelled due to the latter's visa issue.

I expect Jerwin to score an easy victory here, even though Gonzalez is not his original opponent but still he trains hard for this. Hope to see him fight big names in the coming days.

His opponent is shorter than him and according to the video I saw in youtube he had a problem with fight shorter opponent as the fight against Alejandro Santiago Barrios resulted into a draw. Hopefully this one won't and he will win this convincingly, a knockout is always better.

I'm not familiar with his fight with Barrios. Anyways, probably Jerwin just had an off-night.

But this time, I'm expecting the Jerwin will be inspired by Johnriel's recent win and will try to emulate and go for an early knock out. So yes, a knock out will be be better so that it will also open doors for his to face quality opponents in the future and have a good pay check as well.

Here is the perfect comparison between those two boxing fighters.

Source:

This is a very exciting match and to watch your fellow countryman fighting inside the ring and raising our national flag.
The image details shown above that Jerwin Ancajas was had great advantages compared to Miguel Gonzalez, probably the Pilipino fighter here will win by technical knockout.

I see from the career obtained by Jerwin Ancajas, quite professional during the match of a total of 34 matches won 31 times, quite fantastic I believe this is a fierce battle between Jerwin Ancajas vs. Miguel Gonzalez.

History: Jerwin Ancajas

I also saw personal data from Miguel Gonzalez, also has the spirit of boxers who are also professional, very fun to enjoy this fight.

History: Miguel Gonzalez

This is very difficult to guess, winners and losers, we will see in the arena of the match 7 tomorrow.

Another Filipino boxer will showcase his wares over the weekend as Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas will depend his IBF junior bantamweight world title against Miguel Gonzalez from Chile.

Odds are out but not tempting though,

Ancajas = 1.04  Gonzalez = 10.00

With this kind of odds, Ancajas is heavily favored and this looks like Ancajas is sure to win this match. I would not even place my bet on Gonzales even with the x10 winnings coz Ancajas is a much deadlier fighter than Gonzales.

Seeing the betting odds, I decided not to bet and just watch the game and enjoy.

I might change my mind if there are other alternative odds that will be offered.

It wont really be worth for the risk but well for sure win then you can opt in and there are people whose like that.  Wink

Really? I think that not! Before he'd be like after Pacman, he should undergo more struggles first before hitting the legacy of his career. Ancajas showed more amazing fights but it doesn't guarantee him to somehow be like what Manny has been through on his milestones of success. Probably he'll be into fame with his boxing career, but with different aspects in terms of wealth that's closely related to Pacman's stepping stones; from rags to riches.

We cant still conclude yet since we arent still able to see on what would the future would be.

This is going to be interesting, I know Ancajas very much but I am not familiar with Miguel Gonzalez I have to analyze later, but I'm hoping Ancajas will win so there will be three-peat for the Filipinos the First one Pacquiao, then Casimero, I have a strong belief that Ancajas is now the best fighter now after Pacquiao.
That would be the best idea to do but let's not forget that both boxers will do their best to defense or take the tile from someone. In this case ancajas will defend and gonzalez will try his best to take the title. This would be interesting fight, gonzalez have 2 loses but this doesn't mean it's easy win since gonzalez have 31 KOs.

I almost forgot that the fight is nearing, its good that you were able to catch up and create a thread.
I was really thinking that the odds are competitive for both, but getting 1.04 betting on our fellow Filipino is very risky if you only have to win 4% of your bet.

Seeing the betting odds, I decided not to bet and just watch the game and enjoy.

I might change my mind if there are other alternative odds that will be offered.
