Warming this up because of relevance to the BCH situation. Also kraken sucks big time at the moment, I mean like really seriously...

Jesse Powell flew to Japan to help Mtgox in 2011, when Mtgox only had two employees.

Here is my statement apologizing for making the initial video in support of Mtgox seven months before their collapse:

Thanks for answering.
I had money stuck in MtGox at the time you published the first video, and luckily I couldn't connect your name in any way so the video was for me not reassuring at all - the opposite was the case...

However Bitcoin acts as a magnet to attract the weirdest freaks, you will admit that (not saying that fiat money doesn't) - and to some degree the past of people who hold big sums of other people or key parts of the Bitcoin infrastructure is of public interest.

Can you comment on some details in your first video? How much time did you spend on checking the facts before the video? You mention bank account statements showed to you - what was on them?

What's your opinion on Karpeles?

We all know Roger Ver's legendary MtGox Statement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4SCAw264qM - needless to say, I find that rather disturbing to say the least...

Mr. Powell flew over to MtGox to "help them sort out the mess" in their "difficult times" - what can an outside person which is not deeply involved in the issues of a company do within a week and a half?

How have they been affiliated with Karpeles and Gox? What did Powell exactly do at Gox? What's their take on honesty and trustworthiness?

Are there any clarifying statements of them addressing exactly this questions? (Gotta say that for Ver it's going to be difficult to convince me... Wink )

My opinion about Mr. Karpeles is not the highest, which I expressed also here before the news unfolded: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/mark-karpeles-mtgox-223310 (some posts in this thread are missing, Goat was the only one really responding at that time...)
