You know, when I was a kid we would travel on weekends with a camper mounted on our 1960 Chevy Apache pickup to all of the reservoirs in Kansas and we ever heard of such a thing because it just didn't happen back then.

I wonder how much this has to do with increased levels of pollution anhd the general trend in cliamte change towards a warmer world.

Well i guess you can also get it if you have a wound on your body somewhere and i guess females are more exposed to that problematic, keep safe people and keep away from that lakes. You don't need to swim that bad.

No it won't typically enter through an open wound unless you're talking about a gunshot wound or something. It needs a mucous membrane to enter and stay moist, then it enters the bloodstream.
