Jim Parson is versatile enough as an actor to pull it off, coupled with CBS would love to have the series an instant hit with at least one star pulling in viewers.

I wouldn't say he is that versatile of an actor. Seems to not stray far from Sheldon in the few roles I've seen him as. I could see him as Spock though.

We's so glad that good actors don't stray from rooted characters.

Inspired by New 'Star Trek' Show: Dream Crew!!, which character would he play and why?

This vision is definitely not outside the realm of possibly given that both series are-cum-will be on CBS. Jim Parson is versatile enough as an actor to pull it off, coupled with CBS would love to have the series an instant hit with at least one star pulling in viewers.

I envision him as an [experimental] Adaptable Reassigned Crew Hologram (ARCH) designed by the son (or daughter) of Reginald Endicott "Reg" Barclay III, performing duties on a starship as custodian to captain, and every title in between, with each encompassing a unique personality.

At some point early on in the series, ARCH, like Data and the Doctor, begins stiving for his own humanity.
