This could be a call for war. He is only but few months old as the US president. There are better ways of resolving dispute other than violence. What should we be expecting, would Syria revenge? Even if the do what would be their own strategy as a revenge . Going by what could result to this attack this might end in a bloody civil war that would attract other loyalist of both countries to engage in a war that would eventually shake the planet

“BREAKING: @JoeBiden just bombed Syria.
American imperialism rages on no matter which party is in power.”

This is inhuman it’s high time we stop seeing things like this to be normal and accurate syria 🇸🇾 is an independent country why the bombing 💣 what’s there offense?  Has it deteriorated to this point and level that the Media couldn’t come out to say and narrate what happened in news hubs and social media just as they did to the previous president Donald Trump. For the fact they’re Arab nations doesn’t mean they’re terrorist organizations, for a fact there hasn’t been any life threatening issues arising neither any threat of any kind issued to the United States 🇺🇸 no strike was made anywhere, no US soldier was killed or injured. Joe should be sued for genocide.

I am sure most people will think that his actions are actions that should be taken by a US president for global peace.

What business do the United States have in Syria again? What kind of threat Syria is to USA? People talk like bombings were unreasonable. Why are they even there? Syria has no nukes. They cannot invade the United States.

I'll tell you why...

Syria is actually an independent (or was since they are now in bed with the Russians) country that refused to take orders from the U.S. They said "No."

Not even the EU countries can say "No." to the United States.  That is how ballsy Assad is. (or was)

Syria is not the problem, the neighboring country is. The title is misleading where in fact, he is targeting the iranian militia in the border of syria and iraq. Iranian militia is moving their forces to syria, it is like syria is the battle ground for their assault. And if you think about it, they bombed it in the border so they probably negating the invasion of this militia towards syria.

^^^ The difference is the level of fear in the people. Nowadays we have Covid. The people are running around loose with Covid fear, or fear of law enforcement reacting to Covid restrictions, if they DON'T have Covid fear.

Syria? It's over there. But we have bigger fish to fry right in our own little neighborhood. If we can finally figure this Covid thing out, maybe THEN we'll get mad at the President.

Obama couldn't have gotten away with it. The people weren't Covid scared back then.

You can imagine Obama would have loved to cover up civilian deaths by drones? You mean like Trump actually did?

Yes.

Then why didn't he do it? Trump did it. So what stopped Obama from covering up civilian deaths if he secretly wanted to? Makes absolutely no sense.

Yes.

In other news, Joe Biden apparently called off a strike because civilians were in the near area. https://nypost.com/2021/03/04/biden-reportedly-called-off-second-airstrike-after-children-seen-nearby/

This sounds quite flattering, but it should be the standard that the US doesn't airstrike innocent civilians. Should we really credit politicians for such a low bar? Especially when the US has a long history of destabilizing nations and killing innocent people?

The title of this thread evokes an image of Sleepy Joe piloting a B-52 bomber at low altitude over Syria and casually dropping bombs on schools and hospitals. Which as far as I know is not what actually happened.

I am not getting this image that the president himself is doing the bombing. We all know that the bombing occured under Bush, Obama, Trump and now Biden. To assume that anything would be changing with a new president is utopic in my opinion. The war in the middle east is still ongoing, with or without the intervention of the USA. And since the Russians are there too why shouldn't be the Biden and his troops? All these policies can't bechanged overnight.

It's hard to remember all the strikes that Trump did but I doubt he did one this early.
Trump did exactly one strike, and that was in response to a gas attack in April 2017. Trump also ordered a drone strike to kill an Iranian general.

To be fair to Biden, Iranian forces (and proxy forces) have been attacking US troops and assets recently.

I'm assuming you mean largely public strikes? Not just a drone strike or something along those lines in general -- as the media reports that Donald Trumps drone strikes far exceeds Obama numbers https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/2019/5/8/18619206/under-donald-trump-drone-strikes-far-exceed-obama-s-numbers

Still not sure what the fuck we're doing in all these other countries when our own people are suffering. But nothing changed under Trump and he was the one pushing that line of thought for a little while.

Blaming this on Joe Biden is a bit much. This is a good reminder that the president is just a puppet when it comes down to it. He doesn’t have the power to fight against the war machine or central banking. The last president that tried was JFK. I think they have all learned to play ball since then. That being said, if Joe really wanted to have stopped this, I’m sure he could have used his powers to do so.

Trump did plenty of drone strikes though. The problem was, drone strikes hardly ever make it to the press. They usually keep it secret to cover up any collateral damage. And apparently, Trump did more drone strikes than Obama.
Ahh yes, I had forgotten that Trump had beaten ISIS early in his first term. I believe most (if not all) of these were in an already active war zone, so it wasn’t an escalation as the strikes in Syria and Iraq were.

I'm okay with drone strikes because they are better than troops on the ground. I can't find much on Trump drone strikes because they keep that info tucked away. I don't really agree with that because I'm generally for military transparency. I can imagine Obama would have loved to cover up innocent civilians being droned, but it's good that the info is publicly available. Also imagine from another country's POV. If you're the UK for example, it's better for you to be aware of what military conflicts the US is involved in.

To be fair to Syrians what the US troops and US assets are doing their in the first place?

May be helping to build the democracy?

It is directed to Iranian-Backed Militia which is a threat to anyone. And to be fair, the bomb hit in the borders of syria where the iranian militia base is located.

Social media News headlines may be misleading sometimes, the bombing was a targeted airstrikes against militia group in a small location. Biden has done nothing different from what any other America president would have done. America will never negotiate with terrorism or militia.

I don't understand why is everyone blind to see that who is the biggest terrorist. When you bomb on Syria, a lot of innocent women and children also die.
There is therefore no difference between the terrorist and those who do the bomb attacks on the terrorist.

I don't think the quote in the OP's post should be any surprise to anyone:

"American imperialism rages on no matter which party is in power"

The 'American imperialism' part is true because the US are at present the most powerful nation in the world. It doesn't say anything really about the US, it's a general point and of course a truism: the powerful exploit their power. This is as true of nations as it is of individuals. Go back a century and the US were much less of a global disruptor, it was for example the UK and France who carved up the middle-east between them in 1916, leading to much of the modern-day trouble in the region. Go back further to Spain conquering South America, to Rome subjugating various European tribes, back nearly 5000 years to Sargon the Great unifying Mesopotamia... same story throughout history.

The 'no matter which party is in power' bit is reflective of the state of modern 'democracy', and probably deserves its own thread. The differences between Republicans and Democrats are very narrow; there is a consensus on almost everything. Same in a lot of countries. Same in 1726: How to eat a boiled egg

Seems a bit aggressive when Biden isn't too deep into his Presidency. It's hard to remember all the strikes that Trump did but I doubt he did one this early. The group they targeted was an Iranian backed militia group, allegedly. If Biden continues Obama's foreign policy, then you can expect fighting proxy wars in Syria (and more drone strikes), keeping Bashar al-Assad in power, and giving more cash to Iran.

I guess we really can’t say that yet though, we’re not sure on what actually happened here. I’m curious on when it’ll be explained to the American people.

As of right now they are saying it is a defensive action and that Congress did get information on it though.

But at the end of the day — the Presidency is still the same in terms of being super powerful. Both parties love when the presidency is all powerful.

Well, they just bombed some Iranian military targerts/buildings in eastern Syria, close to Iraqi border. That's something that Israel is doing for last few years. This was political message more than it was military action. American imperialism will be if they start new war like this in Syria, which they started while Obama was president. They literally helped thousands and thousands terrorists to fight government that America dislike. My concerne is that America is going hard on Russia in this Biden presidency. Why am I concerned ? Because Russia is big power, they have their own interests. I think they showed that they are ready to cooperate almost always if you just talk to them, and they showed they are agressive if you try to bypass them and if you bring one-sided solutions, especially to things that are connected to them. I see some worrying reports and things about Ukraine. It looks like US is pushing Ukraine in new offensive. Of course it will fail, but message is important as I said, US is going to attack Russia on every possible front.

God is speeding things up, to bring this whole world to a close. If He didn't speed this up, people would fall to the crazy Covid non-vaccine injection, which is ultimately designed to take over their souls.

Making more wars will bring about the return of Jesus to make true peace... peace that won't allow wars any longer, and peace that will bring back health by getting rid of vaccines.

Is that why Russia and Trump did all the time over the last 4 years? I mean there is a war still happening in Syria and Iraq.  Why are people angry about it? Do we just sit back again and let everything escalate? Don't forget that after Obama took troops out of Iraq that ISIS created their own state in Syria and Iraq. Do we really want the extremist to come back? I for my part hope they all get what they deserve. Still remembering the videos what ISIS did to their prisoners.

I guess he's going to get the Nobel Peace Prize, then, like Obama.

I've googled the sujbect just in case and I can't see many links but there are some so the news seem true:

US carries out airstrike against Iranian-backed militia in Syria in Joe Biden's first military action.

It's because people think that if they vote for the other, they think that anything will change. The only time that this kind of shenanigans stop is when people unite together and chose their leader that favors the interest of the masses before anything else and is also morally inclined and is not being influenced by the bankers and the 1%.
