Agreed... You make a great understated point there.  It didn't really sink in until hours later as I was thinking about this more in detail.

More thought is required on future endeavors. Smiley

Sigh...

People suck, eh?

I'm just glad it wasn't a giant amount... I'll do another project related to clam in the future. I have other irons in the fire, but using my own code versus code from 3rd parties.

I'm sure you've had your own shenanigans with people as well Smiley

I try to be very aware of the fact that (at least some) people will do whatever earns them the biggest rewards. If you pay someone for sitting on your site 24/7 and solving captchas, that's what some people will do. So really you need to make sure that the incentives you provide are aligned with the behaviours you're trying to promote.

See the 'rain bots' on Just-Dice for a good example of this. There's one that gives out small tips to whoever is making non-zero bets. And so there are people who make tiny bets, because they've figured out that they lose less by betting than they earn from the bot. Both amounts are insignificant, but that doesnt stop them. Then there's the "dash" bot. It shares its winnings to whoever is chatting when it is active. And so whenever it is active, the chat is full of random new accounts saying "wow" and "ty" over and over. You really do get the behaviour you reward.

I have transferred ownership/login of the Joker21.com account to cloverme.

I am not longer a part of this project, It was fun to run the site but I am moving on to other things.

Thank you to Cloverme for allowing me to admin his site, Besides the script everything ran smoothly.

I've got an idea, but not sure how the community here would feel about it.

I've agreed to take back the site from the new owner, there were too many issues with Johny1976's code for him to run it. In part, I feel somewhat responsible, I honestly didn't know the code has as many stability and game issues as it did. I have absolutely no interest in running a gambling site though.

That being said, what if I turn the site into a free faucet? You could choose to either play with the free faucet funds or just withdrawal with what you get from the faucet. I'd have to sell some advertising on it though to pay for the hosting, etc.

Would that be something the community could deal with?

This sounds like a great idea to be honest. Cloverme has agreed to take the site back.

Attention all Joker21.com users,

Due to issues we have been having with the website and wallet we unfortunately have to close up shop.
Deposits have been disabled and we will leave the site up a few days to allow users to withdraw their funds.
Any deposits to the site that have not shown up in the past 24 hours please post your TXID as long as your account name below.

We apologize for having to shut down, and would like to thank everyone who played on the site as well as helped us bug test.

-Admin

Well that's a shame.

From what I saw on the site's chat:

Quote

It looks like we have to shut down the site, It seems our script keeps falling out of sync with the site. Also BadBear on the forums has flagged us as KLYE. That's a shame.

KLYE told me you guys asked him to try to get me to accept an ad for your site on Just-Dice. I turned him down because I don't want to advertise other gambling site. So I guess it's possible he's been approaching other people asking for ad space for joker21.

IMO thats because OP is not offering BlackJack insurance.

Right. Just pointing out that he got one of the rules wrong in his list. He said the dealer doesn't peek.

And peeking - didn't the dealer used to peek?

The deal still peeks. I was dealt 4+5, but didn't get to play it at all because the dealer peeked and saw he had blackjack:

(If the #3000 Bet is a wager less than .1 CLAM the next roll of .1 CLAM or over after #3000 will be awarded)

GOOD LUCK!

Joker21.com user "cat" has won the 1 CLAM prize for the #3000 bet. Good job!

*will you reshuffle after each hand or how deep is the depth of deal, or deck penetration in %?

I read in the on-site chat that they shuffle before every hand.

The fact that you get a new server seed every hand would be consistent with that.

I've doubled with 3 cards before, so that's not right I don't think.

Also did you change the insurance? I've not seen it offered recently.

And peeking - didn't the dealer used to peek?

Currently working on a nice rules write up. although basic rules are seen in OP.

When people ask about "the rules", they are asking about the details that change from casino to casino.

We know ace is worth 1 or 11, that's standard.

What we need to know is:

* how many decks?
* does the dealer hit or stand on soft 17?
* how many splits do you allow?
* when can we double? any two cards? any time? only 11?
* do you allow double after split?
* do you allow surrender?
* does the dealer peek for blackjack?
* how much does blackjack pay? 3:2 or 6:5?

Those are the variables. I'd never heard of "5 card charlie" rules until I saw it mentioned in the site chat, but if that's a thing I guess that should be mentioned in the rules too.

We are back!

Currently working on a nice rules write up. although basic rules are seen in OP. Changed us back to 1 confirmation just to be safe.
Our CLAM wallet bunged up it seems. So we had to re-initiate the wallet.

Currently waiting on johny to send over an explanation of the provably fair system as well as set up a 3rd party provably fair checker.

The .01 Giveaway is still going! Feel free to post below and hop into Joker21.com to play some CLAM BlackJack on us!

Once you have the kinks worked out, have fixed the severe lag issues, a reasonable history of meeting withdrawal expectations, and a thorough write-up of the rules and provable fair system (independently verifiable) come back over to the CLAM OP thread.

We are always happy to welcome new services to the CLAM family given a certain amount of earned trust.

Appreciated! Site is still offline until we can iron out a few bugs that have come up in our initial launch.
The lag is being caused by a spastic script that sometimes triggers itself, we are looking into it now.
An easy to understand rules full write up of the rules is being done today, as well and we are waiting from the system developer on a provably fair system explanation along with a place to check your rolls.

Relaunching with CLAM and the popularity the site received was a good test of systems in place, but changes must be made and a few other issues listed above must be addressed as we push on with the site. Thank you for bearing with us. Smiley

very interested about provably fair explanation for this script. good luck

We are working on getting the rules and a provably fair explanation/checker in place. Smiley

Note that contrary to advice seen in the chat, the site doesn't consider 5-card hands as 21's:

I apologize for the misunderstanding, The rules in north america I normally play IRL dictate 5 cards win.
Unfortunately the site doesn't seem to be coded in this way and we are looking into making this option available.

That being said, working on a ruleset today to post so people have a better understanding of the rules.

It is  a good idea to post the rules to avoid any surprises Grin Thanks.

Let me check the database again for your username doog. I don't recall seeing it.
Your old login was lost when we had to redo the database. So if you haven't signed in and changed your player alias to dooglus I can't find you!

Doubled up: BALANCE 0.02200000 CLAM

Site is very laggy and chat isn't working.

Having nasty lag spikes. Seems one of the scripts is misfiring at times and causing clients to send more information than they need to.
Going to hopefully get this worked out shortly. It's intermittent, Lag seems to be fine at the moment.

thanks for the giveaway and a nice looking site!

EDIT:  Site seems very slow and very ambitious.  The built in faucet is nice to try a hand, but I waited quite awhile for my cards to appear after clicking bet.

Paying immediately! I am having issues with the server connection at the moment as well. Looking into it.

Indeed it has few problems that should be solved, but i see it a nice site with potential, and i really like that it promotes clam Smiley.
If you prove that is legit and dedicate a bit of time to it im sure its going to go nice .

any other way to log in another pc aside from the unique URL?

No. At the current moment only the unique URL is the only way. Working on a login page idea.

I posted the following on the CLAM thread before this thread was created:

I just played at https://www.joker21.com - BlackJack for CLAM.

People in the Just-Dice chat were complaining it was "rigged" and asked me to go check it out, so I did.

I didn't identify myself there, just turned up as a random player. There's a faucet which sometimes gave me 5000 clamtoshis and sometimes just 1337, but either way that's enough to try the site out.

The dealer got lucky a few times, but that happens. I was able to turn my 5k to 20k before busting it.

Then I deposited 10 CLAM, and was able to bet 1 CLAM a few times, getting up to 11 or 12 CLAM before the max bet dropped below 1 CLAM. I bet 0.8 CLAM a few times and ended up withdrawing 10.6 CLAM. The withdrawal was instant.

The site appeared to crash a couple of times while I was playing, the animations are a bit glitchy, when the dealer has an ace it shows as being worth "1/10" when it should be "1/11", and CBI was complaining of losing a hand where he split 10's, got a 21, and lost to a 5-card 21 by the dealer. "Dealer 5 card Charlies aren't a thing" or something.

More seriously, I couldn't see the rules listed anywhere on the site, and there's nothing about how the probable fairness works. It shows you a sha256 hash of a list of cards before you play, and publishes the list of cards afterwards, but there's also a client seed (integer) and no indication of how the client seed affects the shuffle. So it's maybe provably fair, but there's not enough information on the site to know for sure, since I've no idea how to verify the deals.

Not sure if you saw it or not, but it might be worth addressing some of these issues.

Thank you dooglus for your concerns and issues raised.
You are correct, The site does need a fair amount of work.

I am waiting for the coinjack writer to get back to me with his provably script explanation.
Working on an easy understandable rules write-up for the site as well. Please bare with us.

Correct me if I am wrong, I believe both the two Blackjack sites are running with the coinjack script.

Thanks your link. You are right, dude. I just check your link.

The script costs 1.2btc, wow, such a big investment to set think kind of site.

Hope the site owner can get the principal back.

blackjack is a game with 0.6% house edge, it requires 1.2btc/0.6%=200 btc wager.

We had to install a fresh Database last night dooglus so you are going to have to login again and set your Player Alias.
Sorry about that.

entered my password and clicked the UNLOCK button but nothing happened. stuck on that page.
is it happened to all new accounts?

I'm thinking maybe a partial password may have been saved. Feel free to make another account. I need to look into the matter.
Appears one of my check balance scripts has gone on the fritz and is checking far to frequently. Currently working on the issue.
The site is going to be laggy as this happens, Please be patient if you are betting, although I do not recommend it at this moment.
