Confirmed, Tottenham Hotspur appointed Mou as their new head coach!
https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2019/november/jose-mourinho-appointed-new-head-coach/
At last Tottenham boys gonna get the super secret tips from this living legend. I was expecting him in Spanish football club but "Tottenham Hotspur" got him somehow. English premier league lovers will be able to see Mourinho;s rare activities again on the side bench. Although they have lost their last 5 matches but undoubtedly we will see much more counter attacks on "Tottenhum Hotspur" match in upcoming days. New Coach, new football tactics Smiley.

He said he would bring his double bus to Tottenham, to strengthen their defense. Grin
I cannot wait for Spurs fans, who got used to an attacking kind of football for five years, react to the parking of the bus that Mou is known for Cheesy
To be honest, I did not expect Spurs board to immediately hire a new manager. Now I wonder if they will give him the money to freshen up the squad.

I like mourinho to train arsenal. Incidentally arsenal is one of the clubs I really like first.he is the most suitable coach for arsenal now. It has been a long time since this club has felt a prestigious title like the English league champions. I am sure that Mourinho will be able to improve the mentality of the Arsenal champions if he becomes his coach.

Strange appointment, Mourinho usually only goes to clubs where he can spend a lot. Spurs are usually quite tight with the cash, it’ll be interesting to see how he does at the mess that is currently Spurs.

Thank you for all of the participants who have predicted Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, etc. (actually, I planned to give merit to the winner). LMAO

I'll lock this thread in 24 hours while waiting for the Mou bus to arrive. He said he would bring his double bus to Tottenham, to strengthen their defense. Grin

It was impossible to predict that Totttenham would be the next stop for him.
Pochettino was doing so great last year. The team managed to reach the Champions League final with him. And this season was proven so disastrous that led him to the exit.
Let's now see the philosophy that Mourinho is going to bring to the team.

Yes he has been appointed manager of Tottenham so this thread has met the end  Grin

So this is really funny. Didn't Mourinho 2015 say he would never run a club like Tottenham and now he has become their new coach 😁😁
He may have become desperate after being out of work for a year and all other options have failed.
I still think that his time passed and don't think he will stay long in Tottenham.
His ideas are outdated and he can't give anything new to Tottenham.
I'm sure that he will not get a lot money for new players,  like in ManU or Real 😀😀

I think we have actually come to the end of this thread as Jose Mourinho has just been appointed as Tottenham Hotspurs new boss, I believe the club has had this planned sometime back, but had to get rid of pochettino first, which they did yesterday. This is coming as a shock to me, Spurs play free flowing and attacking kind of football, I hope this doesn't come to an end with that appointment of Jose, we all know his style play(pack the bus) Grin

All the debates, speculations and all that, Mourinho's next/new job is actually not Bayern/Psg/etc as people predicted, it's with spurs!

I’m shocked and surprised by Tottenhams baffling decision to appoint Jose Mourinho as their head coach, there’s no doubt he’s achieved a lot in the past but currently he’s not that great with his methods. Tottenham Chairman has made a grave error because Mourinho loves to spend in the transfer markets, and Levy thier Chairman never really spends money so this is a misfit combination and let’s see how long can it last.

Finally the special one got his next job.
It was very sad to see him not being able to find a team to manage. I think that Tottenham is a good starter for him. This team is out of most of his targets this season so they cannot go even worse. Mourinho would go them better and he is going to take the credits for that as well.

Jose Mourinho is now the strongest candidate to replace Mauricio Pochettino. This news is insane when SkyBet only gives 1/14 odds. It means that if I bet $100.00, I will only get $107.14

https://m.skybet.com/football/manager-specials/event/24741424

I think this is it guys! Do you agree that the debate is over?

I really doubt that Mourinho wants this job.
Until now he was coach in very big and important clubs like Chelsea,  ManU,  Real and Inter.
If he choose Tottenham now it will be one step back for him,  because he believes that he is great and the best,  "the special one ".
So,  I think that right now he waiting for the call from Peres or Salihamizic and expect to continue his career in some top club again.
He don't understand that his time passed and that he is not top coach any more.

The problem with Mourinho is that he has this ego and style and tactic that he plays and he just does that, he doesn't do anything else, he doesn't change himself looking at what kind of players he has, he doesn't change depending on who he plays against, dude has this one style and keeps playing that, which results with of course a bad mismatch when the team he manages is not proper for the style he has, which is what happened with Manchester united.

Now if real Madrid, or Bayren, or arsenal or any other team wants to hire Mourinho, I am sorry but they would have to actually check their rosters and see if their team can play the Mourinho ball, if not that would be recipe for disaster and nobody would be able to recover from that for a whole year, hell Manchester united is not recovered to this day.

I know Jose Mourinho is a great coach, I was one of his fans when he coached Real Madrid. but as far as I know, in the last few years he seems to have lost his ability to coach a club, is it possible that he is just unlucky because he doesn't train great players like Cristiano Ronaldo anymore.

Hear the news that Dortmund is currently eyeing top coach Jose Mourinho, and the Dortmund boss has established contacts with Mourinho and has learned German now.
Will Dortmund be able to get it, let's wait until this news is officially released.

No way he's gonna be accepted at Bayern.  After what he did to German legend Schweinsteiger...?  Wenger is a more suitable choice imho.

Indeed i found this rumour too that after lost against Leicester City the fans of Arsenal asking the replacement of Unai Emery which is this time they want Mourinho because seems they have no patience again to Emery that 5 times in a row cannot win seems considering Emery failed to bringing Arsenal to better position and internal conflict too makes this team cannot showing better performance and the fans says Mourinho have good experience in premier league so they thought he will be suitable for Arsenal

I heard rumor that president of Real,  Peres,  asked Mourinho to wait until the beginning of next year and be available in the case if he decide to replace Zidane with new coach
It seems he really like Mourinho and wants him.
If this rumor is truth than I don’t think Mourinho will accept offer from Arsenal.
It seems that his second choice is Bayern and he already learning German 😁
He is already one year without job and his last job in ManU wasn't success.
His next job may be his last chance to return to the top.

Real Madrid, Arsenal, Bayern Munich still want Jose Mourinho,
But in my opinion the most powerful candidate Arsenal because I know that mourinho is watching the movements of the Arsenal game at this time always watching in every arsenal match, but that is also not sure where he will be anchored? maybe next year is the correct accuracy.

What do you think guys?
JM obviously is one of the greatest managers in the history of football, but he is currently unemployed.

[.....]

Is this guy still relevant or just a washed up old manager?

I think Bundesliga would be his next destination.

Despite all the speculation of the next destination of Jose Mourinho, Jose Mourinho is a great manager, he's not finished. Failure at MU before indirectly has dropped his name as a great manager, so I think, Mourinho just has to re-show the world that he is a great manager, he must immediately returning to coach a club.

I think that Jose Mourinho is one of the few examples if not the only one that when he was playing soccer when he was young the coach told him that he is not suited to play soccer.Coming from this stage to the beating of Barcelona with Inter and winning the Champions League with them in that year is quite some achievement so I hope he gets employed soon.

Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid and Wenger to Bayern Munich for sure. Even though Perez had fired Mourinho when Mourinho was still a coach in Real Madrid, I am sure Perez will re-recruit Mourinho again. there is no other choice that seems to be suitable for Madrid if Zidan is fired. And for Wenger, because he can speak German I think he has a good opportunity in Bayern Munich.

Now Arsenal is the favorite! It's interesting to see Mourinho at Arsenal because it is well known that Mourinho and Wenger often embroiled in a conflict.

If that really happens Jose Mourinho is anchored to Arsenal then in the EPL league will be even more exciting, Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Mourinho, Lampard are also strong candidates in coaching, will they compete more tightly in the EPL ??

Jose Mourinho is really the special one, He is one of the best coaches in the football world, at first, he has shown his quality when he was in charge of Porto FC, That team hold the Champions League trophy, then he joined in Chelsea FC and he won 2 times in the EPL trophy, After that he won treble ever first with the Internazionale/Inter Milan, and then he managed three years in the Real Madrid and build a winning combination at Los Blancos, not only that but also he again won an EPL trophy with Chelsea, but In Manchester United, he could not manage the team properly but he tried well the team was not fully okay, Whatever the case is, I hope Jose Mourinho will manage again a giant team, I think It could be Bayern Munich or PSG. I think it would be PSG in the next year of PSG will not bring anything from the European stage.

However Jose Mourinho is a coach who was very great in the previous era, only Jose Mourinho failed at Manchester United. But it was not a big failure, because before Jose Mourinho had presented prestigious trophies in many clubs.

Rumors of the return of Jose Mourinho are very much discussed, and the problem is that the rumors are still confusing. Some say to Dortmund, Real Madrid and even Arsenal too. So there is no valid information at this time.

Good odds to look on;

Bayern Munich 4/1
Dortmund 4/1
PSG 4/1
Real Madrid 6/1

and he wont definitely go to Manchester. lol

Have to admit both jobs in Germany must be tempting him especially Bayern. Also PSG with he has financial backing of a country (Qatar) so could theoretically buy anybody he wants.

As for Madrid, he wants to win the Champions League there because it was the one that got away in his 3 years there.

Things change quickly in football now and you never really know what's going to happen next.
I didn't see him coming back to Chelsea before and he could manage RM again based on these rumors.

The problem I see is IF in the January transfer window Pogba leaves United to go to Real Madrid then a few months later Zidane is sacked, Mourinho will not want Pogba there.
If he does agree to manage RM, I would like this Pogba move to happen  Grin

I honestly believe that Mourinho should stop coaching and continue working as a pundit instead
Wait what, seriously?
The GOAT who finished 2nd with the Man Utd "junk" team, beating Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham in the EPL Table, plus don't forget about the Europa Cup.

It's a sad thing the youngsters nowadays only want "attacking" football, maybe because of FIFA video games, not understanding that winning is more important than playing "beautiful" football.

But yeah, he has to understand that the paradigm has shifted.

Can't wait to see Real Madrid park a bus against Levante.

I honestly believe that Mourinho should stop coaching and continue working as a pundit instead. His opinion is not as baseless as the other pundit and that's good. Got tired of hiring crazy statement here and there from the so called pundit.

I would like to see him take on a more challenging task like taking tottenham or everton to win PL and even CL. Jose also loves the football atmosphere in the premier league.

I agree, it will be even more interesting.
Certainly challenges like this are expected and rebuild an even bigger team (if Jose takes Tottenham or Everton). And EPL will also be even more interesting in every game.

I believe his lack of employment is mostly voluntary at this point, he is a well respected manager, and although he may have had some issues with his previous employers and players at his disposal, he is still a manager lost of clubs would snap up in a heart beat.
In an interview I watched sometime ago, he said he would give the next club he signs for his demands and expectations before agreeing to any contract.
Difficult to predict which club would bend over backwards to meet his demands.

Jose Mourinho was dismissed from Manchester United manager post last tuesday and we do not need to worry about his new job. Even if he do not get a big club he can surely get any coaching for small clubs.

Jose mourinho is indeed a top coach because of his amazing achievements throughout his coaching career although in the end Mou continued to get dismissals from big teams and for the latter was fired from his coaching chair at Manchester Utd. If Jose mourinho returns again maybe Mou will make a surprise in his first year, maybe like getting the UCL trophy with his new team later and indeed, I think PSG will be more interesting for Mou back.

PSG doesn't get a Champions league title because of its board mindset.
They spend a lot of money on players but they don't focus on building a team that would play a a team and not as individuals.
If mourinho signs for PSG he will have the same problem as many coaches in PSG till now.

I heard rumors that Mourinho already had some offers but he didn't accept because those offers didn't meet his standards, like Portugal national team, Roma, Sporting, Borussia Dortmund etc.
There is no reason for me not to believe this, Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world today and it's definitely a fact that if he's out of employment he'll be inundated with offers from numerous teams. I think Mourinho is taking his time as well as trying out other areas of the game, as he is currently a pundit.

I think it's either going to be Bayern or PSG, I doubt he'll come back to the EPL, I do not see the Epl big team that is need of a manager, he definitely can't go to either Chelsea, United or Arsenal, so I think we'll see Mourinho either in the French or German league come the end of his sabbatical.
I miss Jose on the touchline, but let's also enjoy seeing him in the studio.
Bayern & PSG are only my selections on where he do possibly consider out.No doubt that hes getting some offers from other teams.
For a best-manager calibre then expect for a high price to be asked and maybe he do just take time.French league possible selection is somewhat precise consideration.

Jose Mourinho will choose in the big league, maybe Mourinho will be anchored to Bayern but that is still a prediction, Bayern has talented players so Jose Mourinho will be easy to train his team and will bring champions like in his heyday.

I found this article about 9 possible destinations for Jose Mourinho

https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/jose-mourinho-news-man-utd-everton-next-job-real-madrid-bayern-munich-psg-tottenham-spurs-borussia-dortmund

He put the odds in the end (his opinion ofc)

Quote
Mourinho next club odds
PSG - 4/1
Bayern - 4/1
Spurs - 5/1
Everton - 8/1
Real Madrid - 9/1
Portugal - 11/1
China (any) - 16/1

Read more at https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/jose-mourinho-news-man-utd-everton-next-job-real-madrid-bayern-munich-psg-tottenham-spurs-borussia-dortmund#VegwrzZXLAgiwJBd.99

So, it looks like PSG and Bayern are the most probable

Jose Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of his era, and the only thing that keeps screwing him is his ego and his failure to adapt to situations. In my personal opinion he’s waiting for a call from Real Madrid, but PSG and Bayern Munich are projects he won’t be able to turn down considering he’s been out of work for nearly a year now.

I think clubs that were already league champions wouldn't need Mourinho. They should be happy with their current managers. Hence, how about this basket of bets:
Quote
- Dortmund 4/1
- Real Madrid 6/1
- No club by 1st August 2020 8/1

So let's say I place these three bets, I can expect profits of 33%, 100%, and 166% respectively. Or losing everything of course. I wanted to add Lyon, but if Dortmund is the one then there is no profit.

Mourinho is undoubtedly one of the best managers in history. However I believe that his playstyle is more than outdated.
This way of playing football matches more the Italian league where strong defensive teams mostly win.

A very interesting person with aggressive behavior. Most probably he will be the only guy who got big number of red card from referee's rather than any other manager but i always enjoy to see him standing ahead of side bench during match. Specially when "Mourinho" took the job for "Real Madrid" i watched most of their matches and at that time real madrid was worlds most attacking eleven. Chelsea also made a lot of improvement by using his coaching experience.

I don't think he is gonna quit from soccer coaching but maybe he is waiting for big offers.

He looks more likely to be back in Spain to take over from Zidane. Real Madrid haven't been at their best since the start of the 2019/20 Laliga season. Their last couple of results saw them lost their first position to Barcelona. Given these circumstances and considering that Mourinho has been most linked with Madrid that other teams OP listed.

There is a rumor flying around about Mourinho being linked to Dortmund,  I don't think Mourinho will accept such an offer,  he will prefer to manage a big club like Bayern if eventually he wants to go to German league.  Arsenal would have been a good move for him,  because he loves English league but the board are stingy and cannot meet Jose requirements in signing new players

The next destination of Coach Jose Mourinho should be Real madrid he is surely going to have a second stint in Santiago Bernabéu,  Zidane second coming performances had mixed results despite  signing the likes of hazard and host of other players I am very sure madrid are waiting the club to have a losing streaks in their upcoming matches before sacking him with a possible replacement with mourinho.
From the listed clubs and countries mentioned by the OP madrid is the most preferred as the possible destination of Jose mourinho.

He is still considered one of the greatest coach alive. After ManU, I read he has been with sky sports and is not looking for anything new. I do not think he will be joining any other club and might retire. He has earned a lot and proven himself.

If he gets a lucrative offer than he might join.

It is true, such topics have not been discussed and I have never seen a thread related to Jose Mourinho.

Wow, I just found out this news. That Jose Mourinho has regular contact with the German Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund. Mourinho is the first choice if Lucien Favre is fired.

I just agree if he goes to Germany, maybe it can help the fierce competition there. And of course also JM will be very influential at UCL later.

I think he's having a good fun right now as a TV football commentator and waiting for one of his rivals at Real, Chelsea, Bayern to lose his job so he can take over as coach again.

A lot of speculation but nothing has happened yet, maybe Mourinho hasn't found the right club, but is so eager to get back in coaching, he has even added new people to his backroom staff.

I think he hasn't finished yet, but just hasn't found and agreement with clubs who are interested to him.

Quote
The ex-Real Madrid boss even admitted that he has added new members to his backroom staff as he looks to change and adapt his methods ahead of his eventual return to the coach’s bench.

He can consider as one of the most successfully manager in the world but after got sacked from Man Utd he currently don't have a job and the latest rumour i heard from him is he was made contact with Dortmund because during this season Dortmund under Lucien Favre have poor performance and if the current manager sacked then Dortmund will make him as first priority to be next Dortmund manager

He was a great couch/manager and maybe he’s living a life that he really wants and that’s why he has no project team yet but I’m sure some team are contacting him to do business with them but then again, he has the right to refuse and do focus on his personal gaol. Football is a great sports, he already earn a lot of money from that.

He is a guy who has had great success, but in the football world you can't expect the coach to succeed forever... it is understandable that supporters and the leadership of the soccer club have high expectations, but they will not always win. In my opinion jose mourinho is a good coach, but he is out of luck, and when I say he is out of luck I am talking about finding a club where there is a lot of money and he can buy players that are good for his aspirations.

Very interesting Jose mourinho has been away from coaching job for a long time I would not have guessed it would have taking this long before he gets a job. But right now Real Madrid are shaking and I have a feeling they would look into his direction
