Investing to bitcoin at this current price is a little bit risky, and other people may think what if they invested / buy bitcoin is this current price and after a few weeks it goes down, they already lost.  Much better if they invest in altcoins.

this is a very good point. and i was like this! my luck was that i started with bitcoin when it was still cheap.

i was waiting around for the price to drop before i decide to buy and the worst part is price always dropped a little but i never bought because i always thought to myself if it has dropped from $450 to $400 then it can go even lower, so i will wait to buy at $350 and surely enough it was back up $450 and went to $500.

i finally gave this idiotic move up though. i now buy bitcoin whenever i have the money to do so. i don't care about drop, it will be a win in long term.

I remember seeing similar sentiments in 2011 and fall 2010! "Is it too late?" "Is dollar parity (later $10 per coin) a bubble?" Then later the "$30 per is unsustainable."  "You'll be able to buy more later at a lower price."

Sure, there is a lot of volatility, but the long term trend has been way up and if usage (for anything - transactions, capital preservation etc) continues to grow, the fiat price will continue to do so.
I definitely wasn't around then, but I absolutely believe it.  It's like that with other assets too, when they start taking off to the moon.  So do I think it's too late to get in?  Hell no.  We're just getting started.  In general I don't think something is worth buying at any price, but I do think bitcoin is still in its infancy with a lot of room left to move upward.  It's definitely not too late to buy now, even with the price at $2000.

I've convinced several of my friends to buy BTC in my time and none of them has had cause to regret it. Today I spoke with one of the few who was to much of a lazy idiot to buy some at 80 $ per BTC, and it was a sweet kind of sadistic pleasure to point out that BTC recently hit 2000 $.

Bottom line, get your ass on the train, in the longterm it's only going upwards. Once upon a time there was a man out there who thought 80 $ was way to much of an investment to make.

It really is never to late just keep Holding and you should be fine through most times.
Checking of course for the relevant news but so far a hold has worked for everyone it may take some time for people who buy at a new all time high area to see their return but previous peak holders finally got their returns ^^.
Best and worst performing asset in multiple years XD.

Bitcoin seems like the best investment in the world at the moment. We may have a big dump ar some point but over time bitcoin just keeps going up & up.

Indeed -- Bitcoin has basically outperformed each investment option, and every other asset by a huge distant. The long term is the only thing people should focus on. People should understand that if you hold your coins for a few years, why on earth would you get bothered by short term fluctuations? If you look at the all time charts and check out each massive pump and dump, then you'll exactly understand that they don't impact the price at all in the long term.

I agree, with the ever increasing price, there is no doubt about that.  If we buy bitcoin today and wait for another 2 to 5 years, we could see that our investment had doubled if not tripled.  Bitcoin market is not yet saturated so there is a huge room to grow.

ive never been burned buying btc. sure the price has dropped on occasion after a buy but long term it has ALWAYS gone up over my purchase price.

of course it may drop to zero tomorrow but its money i could afford to lose in the 1st place (never invest more that you can afford to lose). its all gravy now.

No one could be sure about what is going to happen so investing only what are afford to "wait" would be the right strategy as of now. I just wonder probably we are heading toward $100k levels in 2017 like how 2013 brought $1200 from $13 but history may repeat but we cannot expect to repeat exactly.

Or we may face corrections which may lead to $1500+ levels again. But we can be sure about fluctuations between $1800 to $2200 levels by next week and I am getting ready for $2000 in bitstamp by Sunday night.

Buying now and keep waiting to find significant profits could be the positive options in front of all of us.

But we can't eliminate the fact that we can ask for ourselves that Buying now would be profitable to us? Should we win for this if we will buy for this current huge price?  Since price for now is little more alerting since its above to its regular all time high and anything bad would possibly happen since bitcoins price for now is prone to be dumped.

But in old saying we can't earn huge if we don't risk huge also thats why its up to the people on how they would deal for this since anything would be possible for risktakers luck.

That's right. I am one of this people who almost every day think "Isn't it too late to buy a bitcoin? The price is so high". I thought the same a year ago when the price was 200$ and today when it's 2000$. Now I feel myself as a fool, cause that time a year ago I had an opportunity to buy couple bitcoins, but now I am constantly no, 2000$ is big money to me. But I decided just to save the part of my bitcoin earnings and let it grow together with the price. I know I will not became a millionaire with this sum. but this is the only way I see to not skip this bitcoin train.

Personally, this is only my strategy. I just buy bitcoin. I put a side a money from my salary to be put in bitcoin as investment. Because you are right, the chances of the price rising is greater and I don't want to wait for a certain price and just buy because I will miss a lot of opportunity. The opportunity is already there, we just have to grab it now and not wait.

The important thing though is that if it goes down and you were right about having the opportunity to buy it at a lower price, it wouldn't matter.  The Bitcoin price has consistently been a collection of giant peaks and troughs since the beginning, getting bigger each time, but what we see as a bear market next time could be even higher than the price now.

It's hard to say whether you could get Bitcoin at a lower price some other time, but it's easy to say that in a few years you won't regret holding it.

these days a lot of my friends are asking me about whether they should invest in bitcoin and is it too late, ...
you can already see a lot of their similar questions on bitcointalk.

of course the first thing to know is to "always invest what you can afford to".

but second thing i say is "just buy bitcoin already".

i know a lot of people who have been waiting and waiting for a long time just for price to reach $#### and then buy bitcoin. and each day they are missing opportunities to buy. and each day that passes they have to pay more or buy less bitcoin with same money.

yes there is a chance of drop, that is why the first rule exists. and besides the chances of rising in long term will always be much higher than the chances of not rising or dropping.

so just make up your mind, either buy now and accept the consequences or stay away now and again accept the consequences.

the world won't stop for you to make a decision, nor will it change to your liking.
