Hello I am wondering, how does someone come a moderator on these forums or global moderator?

You don't ask for it. This applies to all Internet forums.

If anyone wants to know, we're always on the lookout for people who are online between 3 AM and 7 AM Eastern US time to be moderators. As it is, quite a bit goes unchecked during those times, despite the fact that we still get a surprising amount of posts during that timeframe.
Free reign to post off-topic replies for HOURS!

90% or so of all moderation here is done without us having ever received a report. That's how important it is to just straight up read posts. The best way of proving yourself is to familiarize yourself with the rules (which are pretty much just that a post must be on topic, but there are other things that are more discretionary) and then reporting posts that you come across that violate said rules before a moderator has a chance to see the post. Doing that proves two very important things:
1) You understand the rules and won't abuse your power as a moderator.
2) We don't have enough moderation coverage during the times that you are online.

I was asked to moderate Bitcoin Discussion because of a decent time online, good history of correct reports, and covering a different timezone than the other mods. Got offered Global mod after proving myself to moderate that forum correctly and being able to handle trolls/offtopic and the like well.

You've been registered for nearly a year with 3 days online, and only one report this year so you aren't reading a lot of posts or spend much time here, so I don't see how you could be a very effective mod. If you're going to ask for it you should have a specific plan or idea of how you can help the forum.

You don't ask to become a moderator, you get asked to become a moderator. In other words, don't call us, we'll call you.

Hello I am wondering, how does someone come a moderator on these forums or global moderator?
Lets say I wanted to help out and be a moderator? Could I just ask for it? Or do I have to do something
amazing in contribution to yield that?

As I would like to be a moderator searching for bad posts, deleting them, managing things, I could help out.
Though just curious that's all

Though something to note, moderator takes volunteer work, managing things, I am willing to volunteer,
that's the forums gain and my loss. And perhaps could use another moderator.
