Wow, thanks for the heads up on Tenkara.  I have been wanting a bamboo rod for a while.  I use a composite now and the action is too much imho.  I would a natural fiber rod so it has more play in it.    I got some good 14-17 inch trouts (rainbow and cut-throats) when I was up there.  Last year I landed a monster 23 incher that made me fight it for a good 20 mins.

Welcome back Dalkore! Hope the fly fishing was good. I'm not very good at it, but I always fly fish when I backpack in the Sierras in the summer. The last few summers I've been getting into Tankara (Japanese) style fly fishing. I love the simplicity of it, and how lightweight the equipment is. I think my entire fishing kit for backpacking maybe weighs around 7 oz at this point (though I haven't actually weighed it). In case you've never heard of it, here's a website that sells Tenkara gear.

http://www.tenkarausa.com/

The video section has some good demonstrations of the style. I guess someone should tell them to accept bitcoins!

I just wanted to say I missed you guys.     Was on the Montana and Idaho border for over a week fly-fishing.   It was hot as hell during the day and cold at night.    We caught many fish and built some great camp fires.  I do love the outdoors.   Now back to work and discourse.
