Not sure where to post this or who to go to.

Got scammed for IHome codes.

Any help appreciated. thanks.
No one is going to help you and there is nothing you can do about it. I’m so sorry for you, hope you didn’t lose much. When I was a newbie I also got scammed, but it wasn’t much, just $15, though it pained me then lol but after then, I learned to be more careful and avoid scammers.

There are lots of them in this forum and the best you can do is avoid them. Once you lose your money there is no getting it back, this is not like paypal where you have buyer’s protection.

Yes, it's almost impossible to recover your loses if you got scam in terms of bitcoins and digital currency. In most cases, it is not possible to track the person who did the scam if the mode of transactions is bitcoin or any digital currency. That's why we should be very careful when dealing with transactions in bitcoins.

Reputation section is also a good place for the report, help to others to avoid the scanner and report it everywhere where it is possible.

Crypto scams are increasingly common because this is legit and invites many fraudsters to take action. do reporting on the thread provided even though it is of little value in your opinion, include evidence and chronology of events so that this becomes a shared learning not to be scamed

What exactly happened between the both of you? And by the way there is no way you can get your money back. Bitcoin is not something that can be reversed, once you make payment to the seller you’ve done the payment and there is no getting your money back. The best you can do now is report to the mods and have them block whoever it is, so they wouldn’t scam another person.

Go right to this thread and fill out a proper scam accusation form with all the details and evidence you have.  If the scammer has an account here and your claim is valid, he'll get tagged by DT members--essentially tarnishing his reputation.

There isn't much anyone can do to un-scam you however.  That's the bad news.
Was only $30 but kinda a joke.

Thank you Smiley

measly sum, but fraud is fraud, so you should follow up accordingly to ensure the scammer is kicked out of here.
Scams are not moderated here,so if someone get caught for scamming then they won't get any ban here so we can't make them out of here by posting but when we use our common sense we can identify the scammers and legit ones.

Even if it's $1, still you need to go to that board and put all the details regarding the scammer so that the community will be warned. I'm sure that the scammer is going around and targeting potential victims and your experience with this criminals will put him on the list so that he/she can't scam unsuspecting victims in this forum.

I’m really sorry for you man, the best thing you can do here is report them and tarnish his or her reputation, but I know them, they will still go and create another account and come back to scam people.

You shouldn’t be engaged in any business with just anyone you see here, most people you see here are scammers, I’ve also lost my money to a scammer once, and the bad news is that there is no way you can get your money back, unless the scammer is a nice person and decides to send it back, which is probably not going to happen.

Create the thread and bring the necessary awareness.
He already did made a thread on the Scam Accusation section. The user hasn't been tagged yet.

can u explain what happen?
His mistake was he bought it off from someone using selly and the thread was locked which is a shady combination for anyone selling codes here in the forum.

This is the reason why it's a must to read the sticky threads in every board if you're new to the forum.

On the internet we are all anonymous and some users uses VPN to hide their address and become anonymous and in result most of the people here are doing frauds and illegal works. Well some time ago I tried to purchase here in the forum and ended up being scammed by users and I realized that in every actions you're going to do here should be used an escrow.

It's alright to spends some extra cash rather than getting scammed by fools right? Remember that don't trust anyone here in the internet because you don't know what's the true intention of the people you're talking to.

It really does not matter if its $20 or $5 so far its something that was derived from unwholly activitity denying a legitimate user, its a scam. Aside the fact that you are calling them out for scamming you, you are equally doing someone else a favor from falling victim of such unscrupulous individuals. More so, for the fact they could stoop so low to scam $30, it means they could have scammed more should they have the chance to do so. Create the thread and bring the necessary awareness.
