Guys, I'm confused... in the lobby of the tournament it is indicated that the initial number of chips is 100,000, and the tournament starts in 13 days.

How then do these guys have more chips than the starting value? [Did these guys win multiple tickets to this tournament?]

Quote

By the way, when will the schedule be announced?

Hi Icopress.
They have played phase tournaments and that's why they have more than initialed number of chips. If you play and win satellites twice or more you will just get  initialed number of chips on the tournament + TM(Tournament Money).

hey guys, maybe I missed some information as I wasn´t much online recently. Have you found an agreement already regarding the tournament conditions?
When we gonna start?

As you've seen others mention, the game is in the lobby for this Sunday. You guys don't have to wait until the last minute to register. There is no late registration in the tourney. May as well register now.

For those who are used to playing poker it will certainly be very interesting at Betnomi too, they have free tournaments which of course will also attract more users to come. But by the way, it looks like Betnomi has changed its appearance too so that it looks more elegant and I like that. About the poker tournaments that have been run so far it is clear that it is something good, although it is difficult to win because there are many more experienced players there, but at least it makes us more eager to continue to improve our skills.

Yes Betnomi is a trusted site and enjoy its games you can use it at your discretion but in addition to this you will be offered a bonus package, which is not less valuable at first although it is only available when earning a deposit. Better poker sites have moved to an entertainment player driven model where you are protected from the site's most experienced players.

This sounds interesting and would love to do a single or more tournament each week. I'm into poker and doing series would be a lot exciting. Betnomi is a trusted site though it will be my first time using it. I've been hearing lotshttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=274.0
of positive feedback about this site though so I don't doubt using it.

You are right regarding trusting Betnomi. I can say from my own experience that this is a site you can trust. Apart from being honest, they are running enormous amount of free rolls currently, and many tournaments with GTD prize pools. Register as soon as possible, and enjoy all the perks. Also, maybe spread the word on the Pilipinas boards. We might need more participants for another Bitcointalk Poker Series to kick off.

Don't worry about it, just contact @sorsis when it comes to withdrawing funds and your issue will be resolved immediately (or you have a question).

The thing is that this is not a public matter, and as you remember, neither from the players of the previous poker series from anyone else, Betnomi did not demand KYC and did not impose restrictions on the withdrawal of funds (due to jurisdiction). You should understand that Betnomi are simply obliged to establish legal standards in order to comply with this or that regulation, but this does not prevent them from being extremely loyal.  Wink

Thank you for this amazing explanation! I feel much better now. Smiley Like many of you guys here, I've been waiting for this Series for many long months, and when I thought I wouldn't be able to participate it was literally killing me.

Of course I could pick something like Betwrong1 and proceed, but if it's just a bug, I'd rather keep my name.

But it turned out there's more. I decided to read Terms and Conditions carefully and here's what I found there:
-snip

It happened to me as well, it seems either they forgot to wipe out the previous data from the old site so it got exported to the new site hence we cant use our usual nickname because it was already 'registered' via the old site or they cant 'delete' the old database for the poker network because its probably a 3rd party poker network

Aside from the restricted countries issue, I think Betnomi is pretty lenient to these things as long as you dont really break any rules or trying to cheat in their site

Thanks! I see now. Smiley Just was worried someone could impersonate me and be asking for loans on the site, or something.

So, I registered under Betwrong1 in the poker section, and going to play a freeroll in 5 minutes. Wish me luck. Smiley

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
This is very frustrating because I want to play in the Series so badly, and now my only hope is that there is a mistake in the Terms and Conditions, and if they were updated I would be able to play.

NOTE: I played in the previous Bitcointalk Poker Series on Betnomi and I won one of them, and then I won a bit more playing poker, and I did successfully withdraw $700 from the site 3 months ago.
Maybe they updated their T&C already after you played on the site. Maybe you can asked yahoo as he might be affiliated to them and asked if you can be whitelisted or something like that, well, it's just my opinion. Wouldn't want to breach the T&C but if there's else will be done then I guess that's it for you.

Last time, you played on 6 pm UTC; that's 11:30 pm here in my local  Undecided I guess I won't be able to participate if that's the time as I have more than a lot of works at that time but if it's earlier than this time, I'm interested to join the Poker Series as I really enjoy playing poker. Will bookmark the thread & wait for an update from you.
I guess the consensus would mostly falls on that period of time. Anyways, just keep an eye here maybe it will be changed later on.

Should be $10 buy-in is fine I guess since we can have a rebuy. What do you guys think? I'm fine with either Sat or Sunday but just look above @1ron1c seems not fine in it. Should be fine if it's always a weekend series since I myself was busy during the weekdays.

I like the 5 minute turbo blind structure. Would 50K chips then put us at like  a "double stack" sort of start - 200BB . Deepstack poker can be a lot of fun so I don't see a problem with it.

Yeah it would be great to play with 200BB stack format. Its kinda pointless to start with 50k starting stack but only 100BB and 5 minutes blind ( 11 levels in an hour ). Some of Betnomi's tournament has 50k starting stack and 100BB format which is kinda weird though

I have sent a couple ideas to the owner regarding the freeroll/freerolls. Waiting on  a response, but the ideas were 1 freeroll fri, sat, or sunday. The 2nd idea was 1 smaller freeroll each day monday-friday to let users get acquianted with the site.

Either way is fine. If you decided to go with the later option then changing the prize of the freerolls to tickets for the weekends game would be nice instead of just straight smaller cash prizes. All of us regulars would definitely use those cash prizes to play the weekend game but some people might just go straightaway to withdraw those

I think it would be alot of extra work for me due to I'd have to keep track of who knocks out who and what each persons bounty is as I don't believe the Betnomi software is coded for all that.
That makes sense, just wasn't sure what was available for a format.

  • Starting time seems most want the same or near it which was 6pm UTC
  • Starting chip amounts, noone seemed to really have an opinion on this. I would like to go with 50k
  • Blinds, I am thinking 5 minute since we will likely have 50k chips
  • Buyin? somewhere between $10 and $20
  • 1 rebuy sounds cool and builds a prizepool so i'm 100% ok with this
  • Day we are playing? Saturday or Sunday?
  • I think we should make sure there is interest for a weekend series before we start making a weekday series.

If we stick with a 6pm UTC or close to it, I am fine with either day. Saturday makes sense for those in timezones where it would be late evening. I can't remember what we did before but 10/15$ seems like what would accomodate most. rebuys can help the prizepool if people choose to fire that second bullet.... when I suck out on them.

I may or may not be able to play next weekend as I'm at work, but will keep an eye out. The plant has become busier than it used to be so a mid shift tourney might not be in the cards for me anymore; woe is me.

Here is what has been decided so far. We are going to do a freeroll 1st, likely next week/weekend. This will allow some new players to try the site out as well as some users to make a little extra for their bankroll.

I have sent a couple ideas to the owner regarding the freeroll/freerolls. Waiting on  a response, but the ideas were 1 freeroll fri, sat, or sunday. If I remember correctly the last time there was a freeroll before the series too, with a nice prize pool from Betnomi! I believe both ideas are good, I prefer 1 freeroll with a higher prize pool, but I guess it would be better to have more of them and check how many people from here are really interested to play poker!

That mean we have about a week to make some crucial decisions on how we want to play and when.

  • Starting time seems most want the same or near it which was 6pm UTC
  • Starting chip amounts, noone seemed to really have an opinion on this. I would like to go with 50k

I like it... almost exactly as before! 50k chips and 5 minutes blinds will make the game more interesting!

I would be interested in a new poker series as well. Wasn't part of it in the past because I mainly played cash games. Things got a bit stale lately, so trying out a tourney should spice things up. As for the buyins it depends a bit on the number of games there will be. I would recommend instead of having a too big buyin, rather add the opportunity to rebuy once or twice. Having more than one bullet makes it more fun for the players and casino still gets their buyins. Will there be twitch broadcasting with commentating again?

I've been playing the Pko games on ACR and they're fun but get you alot of bad calls from users chasing bounty money. I think it would be alot of extra work for me due to I'd have to keep track of who knocks out who and what each persons bounty is as I don't believe the Betnomi software is coded for all that.

There are alot of PKO tournaments running in Betnomi Poker as well so it shouldnt be any issue to arrange one if we all agreed on that ( I've played few of them in the old site ). Besides that, lets use the top ten usual point system even if it is for the PKO tournament to decide the top 9 players for the Grand Finale so it doesnt matter of who knocks out who

I would prefer 5PM but okay with 6PM either, please don't delay more than that. I am fine with any buy-in. Let's go.

Yeah its either 5 or 6PM UTC for me as well. Sticking to the previous schedule would be great

Thanks for the message. I'd be interested in playing again, as always I would only make what my shcedule allows which usually means about half the games. I do think our best bet for trying to accomodate the majority of timezones is to try and go with a Friday Saturday as it would allow most people with jobs not to worry about work the next day, should it be latter in the tournament.

Whatever structure the majority likes is good with me. Here would be my ideal I guess.

8 minute blinds, allow late reg and maybe 1 rebuy should you bust out early. I think it would be neat to play some PKO bounty style games as well. Perhaps that could be part of the sponsored portion to increase the prizepool per tourney. My only ask would be that if there is a Championship format to the series we offer up 2 dates for the participants to decide on for the game.

I am also not opposed to playing a turbo format if we are interested in mixing up th egmaes potentially between weeks. Those are 5 minute blinds generally and can be fun, especially if you start out deepstack.

I want everyone to post their thoughts so we can try to get as many in as we can. Everyone may not be able to play every week but a person can miss a game and still be ok.

There will be for sure a game on the weekend, that seems to be when the most people are off. I would like to see a game throughout the week as well, but that's gonna depend on the interest shown.

Just an FYI, I was given the ok to make this super large if I wanted. Just something to think about, but this could get as large as 5k.
Hmm, ok, no problem @yahoo, thanks for your feedback!!

I also agree and believe that it is more valid and interesting to play at least 1 game over the weekend.

In relation about the time, I think it's interesting to have a vote and that it's an interesting time for everyone.

Previously we were playing around 6pm UTC which was good for some, but not others

This was not comfortable time for me. I would like to play at 7pm UTC, because often i wasn't able to come on 6 pm. And yeah, Friday or Saturday in priority. At Sunday i'm mostly busy.
I think some players could register and show up a little late since chip stacks are decent sized. An hour late wouldn't cost you many chips if the series started at the same time as last. Regardless I will keep your thoughts in mind.

No man, late reg is not an option, because it much harder to play after 30-45 minutes after start. You need to play more fast and aggresive or blinds will take you out. At least, we can try at 6.30 PM (as i remember our games often lasted like 2 hours so it's not a big deal to finish 30-1 hour later)

Late registration available this time? there was an issue before with late registration ( poker series on another site ) as some players think that anyone that joined in later were taking advantage of it to get a better chance of getting to the final table ( reaping more points )

I'm thinking about making it a bigger starting stack, something like 50000 and 8 minute blinds. Thoughts? Maybe 5 min blinds?

8 minutes blinds are okay but totally not with 5 mins blinds as we are playing with probably only 10-15 players so it would only take a while before most people are short stacked which would make the game a little bit boring as most players will be forced to go all in with it. Well this also depends on the BB of the stacks, 200 BB max should be fine I think

BPS again! Just on  time for the third calendar year, it shouldn't be that long between series.  Cool

I think that adding a buyin that allows an opening to a group of players that gives them access to the series can bring better player traffic and in that sense add new schedules, starting chips, levels, etc.

Likewise, maintain the original series with a buyin of between $ 15 and $ 20 with the appropriate changes that are required according to consensus.

I participated in all previous Bitcointalk Poker Series, and I can confirm that a game or two can be missed without a huge damage to your position in the leaderboard. But, of course, the more games you play, the better. Smiley

Just an FYI, I was given the ok to make this super large if I wanted. Just something to think about, but this could get as large as 5k.

You mean, $5k added by Betnomi to the prize pool? That's a big number. Maybe if added to the title, it could get more interest to the thread. Smiley

I suppose we are talking about tourney format. How long is that supposed to last? I guess if there are 10-12 players like last time it can't last long, unless the ratio between the starting stack and the size of the blinds is high (and the speed of the increase not very high).
~

It can last for more than 3 hours even with 10-12 players. Btw, were you playing last time, or were you watching those amazing streams by @Globb0? Those were great times. I remember rewatching the games with my wife later. Globb0 is an awesome commentator, hope he'll join us this time.

~ I suppose that at the end of the tournaments we will also comment hands and plays in the forum, right?

That's right, we were always doing it. Looking at your forum name, I can't wait to be playing with you. Join up! Smiley

Amazing to see that we are talking about another poker series. Hell ya I’m interested. With new year gearing up we should start with this right away.

I have enrolled myself into the previous series few times. Had amazing experiences with the whole team. Few of them names were always on the winning list so had good adrenaline time playing all the time.

Suggestions:
Well two series should be there per week. This increases the chances for everyone to get on board.
Point system should be the same with number of winners should be more. I mean at least there should be some sort of perks for the runners ups too. Just to keep everyone motivated.  Tongue

I was not part of the last series but this time am all in, what a way to start the year with a new poker series I believe the old-time still work for me, or any time within weekends is ok for me am very flexible this period.

I personally haven't tried to play higher than .28/.56 cent blinds but most of the players at that level and below have been terrible. I don't guarantee you'll win every hand or anything like that, after all it is poker. I'm just saying anyone with half a brain about the game could do well. As far as traffic goes, there are 10-15 tables of small stakes running right now.

1k per day I seriously doubt, but maybe 1k over a week or so time I think could be possible. Depends on your skill level and stakes you are in. Omaha games are pretty juicy as well if anyone is an omaha player.

I don't think any tracking software would work on here.

LMAO. I was thinking more like $1K a month. If I was able to earn $1K daily from poker I would'nt be in the Best Change signature campaign earning about $500 a month. I know $1K a month wouldn't be considered to earn a living in the US or many other countries but it's a pretty decent amount considering how tough the game has become in the recent years.

Jokes and considerations aside, can you pass me your affiliate link? I prefer to use it, because if I have known the site has been for you, and so I thank you, although I can not assure you that I will play a lot there. I'll take a look and see.

On the other hand, in principle I am interested in the Poker series. Better on the weekend, although if it was on Wednesday and it doesn't take more than a 2-3 hours I could also do it. I suppose that at the end of the tournaments we will also comment hands and plays in the forum, right?

I suppose we are talking about tourney format. How long is that supposed to last? I guess if there are 10-12 players like last time it can't last long, unless the ratio between the starting stack and the size of the blinds is high (and the speed of the increase not very high).

The last series had 10 minutes blind increase and 20000 chips starting stack so it last well over 2 hours, close to 3 hours until we get a winner ( sometimes its over 3 hours depending on how the heads up goes ) . Well actually it could have been way faster but it was a small community game so everyone pretty much got familiar of how each other play so its kinda hard to trap which is why it kinda last longer

I find it hard to believe what you say. Are you saying that $1K or more can be earned on that site? Is there enough traffic for it all the time?

On the other hand, I guess you can't use Holdem Manager or Poker Tracker, is that correct?

I have played the cash games quite a bit on Betnomi and the players suck. The regulars from our series I think could make a living on the poker from Betnomis site. Just my opinion, but we have some really good players in the series that could do well.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
So... I believe this could be a small problem, but not a very serious one.

Do you believe that it is necessary for us to create some voting regarding the days of the week, time and quantity?

Or can this be defined in the future!!?
Not a problem on my part on what will be the consensus of the many as I said I can adjust to the timing if I can besides I have more time to spare this coming weeks and months.

I guess it's a necessary to vote so that it's neat for those who'll join before the game starts, that's what I think. Better to plan it ahead.

Just an FYI, I was given the ok to make this super large if I wanted. Just something to think about, but this could get as large as 5k.
Well, that's for sure huge. You mean that's the max prize pool they want to sponsor? Not gonna miss this even I'm not a pro poker player, just in it for fun with the forum individuals here.

Looks like I'm in it again if it's the weekend, the time will always be the problem for us Asian people but if it will be on the weekends I might gonna make it? Not familiar with betnomi guys but I'll take a look on the accepted currencies.

I do like that point system from the past, I get the chance to experience it and no complain on that. I'm into both weekends and $8 buy-in, nvm the time I'll be the one to adjust. I think we can get that 20+ attendance.

Some users may have jobs IRL and cannot do the weekday game if we had 1. Whatever we decide to do as far as the series goes, its not gonna be the perfect scenario for all. I just hope we can get a bigger number interested cause the last series was 10-12 people max playing which was disappointing.

Most people that is seemingly showing interest now took part in that and want it to be the same which is why I'm a bit skeptical. I think there is potential to increase the interest in this but things may need to be drastically different.

Do you have any timeframe as of when to launch/start this or just asap? Smiley
No timeframe yet, was considering starting within 2 weeks. Just gaging interest currently.

Im interested though I dont know for sure I will regularly attend or not but certainly if I have the time I cant see why not as I play Poker for fun anyway, send me or post the affiliate link to sign up with please.   Was it Betnomi I played previously and came 2nd or 3rd I think it was, end of series free roll.   I will have to practice a bit and get back upto speed.  I do imagine there is a vast number of casuals who should be practicing and then are more likely to step up and partake properly, some people have a talent and dont know it yet; its not too big a game to (re)learn quite quickly.
I can send you a link here in a few mins. Hopefully you can commit to the whole series.

2 tournaments per week I can definitely not handle! Please just stay with 1 tournament per week on each Sunday.

Totally down for the next series ! I miss having poker with the community

How about 2 per week? Wednesdays and Sundays, I'm in if so.

Lets go ! Im good with twice a week as well

I think we can get that 20+ attendance.

I dont think we can, probably max of 15 if there is alot of interest on this series

Should we stick with $15 for the buy in like the previous series though? even if we decided to go with twice a week, its still not an obligation for everyone to join all the games so some people could always stick with weekend games if they prefer to do so.

I'm in as always, but definitely could not do midweek.

Was thinking we could have two tiers and two games at once:

Low roller $10 and below
high roller $20 and up

Obviously there will be a cap, but I'm open to anything. Sunday UTC does seem to work very well due to Soccer being on at the same time.

wow... interesting topic!

Well, I also believe it could be more valid twice a week. Regarding the time, I don't have much preference (of course this is my opinion)

We need to try to create dates and times that are great for everyone, or most!!

I've been waiting for this for so long that I feel like I'm going to agree to any scenario that's good for the majority. Smiley

Same here! Smiley

I don't have a problem with buy-ins, it will be as the majority says... but when it comes to timing there's no perfect one for me! With two kids everything is different, I don't even know what will happen tonight! Smiley I will try to play and adapt to any timing, but I will probably miss a game or two when things are "critical"! So maybe two games per week sound interesting maybe, I guess I can catch some game every week if not both! Smiley

I stand with Ukraine.
I suggest everyone to write their preferences regading time, tourneys per week and buy-ins; and then, maybe, it will be easier to discuss the final schedule. Here's mine:

1. Starting time:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday - From 5 PM UTC to 8 PM UTC

2. Buy-ins:

If one game per week: $15 - $20
If 2 games per week: $8 - $12

But those are just my preferences. I've been waiting for this for so long that I feel like I'm going to agree to any scenario that's good for the majority. Smiley

Suggestions are always welcome, of course we have to go with majority rules on issues like this. Maybe we could have 2 different series? a weekday 1 and a weekend 1? Whats everyone think?

That could work, but my thinking was.. Run the 2 per week for participants to collect points, just have a small buyin of like $20 per (or even less) which goes towards the final prizepool. Have betnomi only juice the finals, too. Gives some more variance and opportunity but yeah. Let's see what others say too Smiley

As the title states, I am looking to find out how many of you would be interested in participating in a poker series hosted on Betnomi.com? SERIES from the past so that everyone can take a look.

I'd like to know who all might be interested, How much we should make the weekly buyin, and what time we should play each game UTC time? Previously we were playing around 6pm UTC which was good for some, but not others. We would need to agree on a time that might suit everyone as best we can, or we could have each week start at a different time and make it fair across the board for all countries so we all have a shitty start time here and there.

Betnomi would sponsor a prize pool like they have in the past, and each tourney would earn you points towards the final if you place in the top 10. Anyone interested would need to create a new account. Old logins do not work for whatever reasons. I would like interested parties to use my affiliate link, but it is not mandatory. Post here and share your thoughts, I would love to see 20+ in this series.
