Advice;

- Dump GUIMiner and learn to love CGMiner directly
- Install either Sapphire Trix or MSI Afterburner
- Overclock your cards' GPUs to at least 1130MHz. Downclock memory to 600MHz to save energy and generate less heat

Should yield you a stable ~685MHs hashing on a 7970.

So far, this is the best advice on this thread. CGMiner is awesome. I'm getting these same numbers stable on my 7970 rig.

I second this

Why do you need an AMD FX 8-Core CPU for bitcoin mining?

Check the hardware comparison chart for some suggestions for Bitcoin mining.

Thanks,  I believe my cards are doing just fractionally lower than they are capable of.  I have them now running at approx 575-580 M/hash x 2

I'm running 5 of those same cards and they run stable at 660-675Mh/s for log periods of time.  Yes, you're results are "fractionally" lower, but IMO you could have saved $$$ and bought different cards if you were willing to settle for those numbers.

This should bring you up to 750 kh/s each card brah:

GPU_threads:2
--shaders 2048
worksize:256
intensity: 13
vectors:1
thread concurrency: 8192
You are giving him settings for something that is not bitcoin mining and the opening poster is mining bitcoins on slush's pool, so your settings will not help him.

Ah I see..  those are for litecoin?  Still, thanks to autodidactic, I am interested in litecoin and will give it a trial spin  Smiley

Not a problem. I just didn't want you disheartened by the 560 kh/s that you get at first start. :p

Should look exactly like that. Smiley

Ah, I see..    I am using GUIminer (v2012-12-03) which seems to be a different program to GUIminer-script

but I will dl it and give it a go - will report back with results.

Thanks again  Smiley

Thank you - which file do I have to go into to update that data?

Hi all,

I just set up my modest little mining unit.

My setup is:

Processor:  amd fx 8-core processor  4.00 ghz    8.00gb ram    64bit

Graphics Cards:  gigabyte hd7970 x2

Motherboard - 990FXA-UD3

Power Supply:  750 watt

-----------------------------------

I am running GUIMiner x2 and it is bringing in approx 560 Mhashes x2   (1120 Mhash)

I am using slush's pool

Expected hashrate is not set to anything
Suggested Difficulty is set to 1

---------------------------------------

would appreciate any comments and advice  Smiley
