Lately the scams are getting really sophisticated if you notice lately lots of phishing app are showing up on google play. Recently my friend fell victim of atomic wallet's phishing app on playstore. A scam reporting site would be really helpful
For this problem, I think someone need to reach its official website first before try to download a wallet, it is not just in google play or in another place. The google play/playstore is not 100% secure, the scammer just need a little money to put their clone wallet in it to trape the victim. As for the website to report a crypto scam indeed it is very helpfull, but I doubt everyone will know it. Also, I haven't checked this site roundly, I can't check it in my smartphone.

Good one for sharing the site. But I wish that there could be several ways by which fraudulent/ponzi crypto schemes can be reported and blacklisted. And for those who have successfully scammed people, if there could be a way to completely freeze such funds and make it nin-cashable, it will help to disincentivize crypto scams. We need to sanitize this space and allow quality projects to thrive.

Hello guys!

A friend of mine just shared this website to me: https://cryptoscamdb.org/report/

It lets you report those websites that are using ponzi and pyramiding schemes, ICO or any crypto-related scams, etc.

I truly believe this would really help us so that newbies and beginners will never fall into these scams.

P.S. If this topic is not appropriate in Altcoin Discussion, feel free to move it to another section. Thank you.

I would love to know what is the action taken when this suspicious projects are reported to this site, do they hold the project owners accountable for any misconduct in the project or they just give the usual warning!
It would have been more satisfying to know the people behind such scam project are being apprehended if possible, this will then reduce the number of scam project we have. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing.

Quote
CryptoScamDB LLC, powered by MyCrypto, Inc., is dedicated to creating a safer cryptospace by educating the public on best security practices, uncovering malicious actors, and exposing scams, as well as providing scam detection services that can be integrated into existing products.

The quote above is what they intend to do according to their mission statement, as much as this may sounds assuring it still lacking in the actual sense of what is happening, there are still large number of scam project around, and I wonder how many crypto lovers will have access to their website or wherever they intend to educate people before falling into victim of scam,
I do appreciate their efforts though, I think the fight is big and will require a combine effort of many such platforms, the crypto community as well to expose all the scam projects and educate the people about them.

Nice site, it's good for all of us to have more similar sites where we can learn about scams and how they operate, it will help
us to recognize traps and to not become victims of scammers!
As I could notice phishing scams dominate on this site, and most of them are about MyEtherWallet. As we can see when we
open that wallet it warns us to check domain and to not write our passwords everywhere, we could get scammed and stay
without coins from wallet.

Yes, even playstore got lured and apps popping up to trick users, it's really annoying especially if you are the one who got victimized.

Which is why we really cannot afford to trust other centralized authorities. Even whitelists are now not so good and can be inflitrated,,, while blacklists are ineffective (I sometimes still get metamask warnings on trusted sites for example). Every man for himself in crypto!

Im not aware of this website but there are already several sites or even threads that do list out scams here on this market but i were to say that this would really be a handful job if we do base
up on the current rate of scams that do exist on this market as of this moment. Also not all newbies will really be that mindful on searching up things when they do invest
thats why these kind of lists are somewhat useless imho since most newbies do only learn to make search when they already experience on losing up money
due to scams.

Any help that can be provided to avoid and to bring noticed to the people especially those newcomers, preventing them to get easily
attached and allow those who already become a victim to report those sites.

Really interesting and useful site. Now he still doesn't show the results of scammers to me, but in the future I think that everything will work. The problem with such sites is that without the support of people, they quickly close, because in one word you can’t do such a tremendous job.

It's cool since its poised to pointing out and reducing crypto scams. However, if anyone can report any project as scam on the site without protocols to checkmate if truly the said project is actually scam, the relevance will be diminished. I think cryptowhalebot aside from the normal whale transaction alerts also notifies on scam transactions and websites, which helps prevent further scam to an extent.

This is good, and of course it’s going to help us in dealing with scam. But people still have to be careful. We can’t dictate all the scam projects, there are many of them being created everyday, more than we can count. So, you will not be able to dictate. I’m saying this based on my personal experience.

I have once seen a website that I know is a scam, and was created by the same people that owns some scam websites I’ve come across. Then I searched for the new website on Google to see if anyone has reported, but no one is talking about it. A newbie can come across it and due to there is no review on them yet, they might fall for it. So most important thing should knowing how to dictate scams.

Nice, this could be the first stop of those people that want to check the websites if they are scam or not. Ether scan also has the label for certain ethereum addresses that has been used for scamming, so these great tools are very helpful for someone who wants to assure that he's dealing with the right address or person.

Those apps can be reported directly to google app so they can remove it.

It is very good. You can also have a relay showing update scam list. There are posts here also listing scam. The list might help to properly develop the platform by copying those scam project mentioned. Scam and accusations sections on BTT is always updated with new scam projects so it is also a resourceful place to get list of scam projects.

A basic question.

How they decide to put a label for some website ICO to labelled the ICO was a scam. This could be same as a website who also labelled some address for some scam attempt and other things. To be honest, still not really helped random guys could be put fake information just because he doesn't like about the project and other things so mark them as scam project.

Is quite easy to see how a scam project, just based on their description, theme website and layout, community and social media for the basic research.

And what will happen to the scam projects or scam artists who are responsible for the criminal acts? Hunt them down? This won't bring scammers down I guess so it's a complete waste of time, I'd rather ignore, unless there is something I'm missing here?

Although the site cannot recover the losses of investors or bounty hunters, I appreciate the site as a scam crypto project discussion site.

for me the scope is wide, not only members in this forum can be involved in discussions, other people who have never joined the crypto community can learn something on the site.

I often see scam projects and to see reports on fraud allegations there have been many that have been arrested by members of this forum so that they know more and discuss there than appeal by reporting on the website and I'm not the one who will follow up on it?

And how it will help to solve those scamming problems, by just reporting to that said site? unless that website has a police power or maybe has a legal connection with any government law enforcement agency etc. otherwise it's also useless like others, scammers are changing tactics and even disguised as a legitimate project some has even a foundation just to show that they are legitimate, Like DigitalBits they don't pay its bounty hunters and continue to hold their KYC data for what purpose! and now they even set up a foundation. how ironic.

A helpful site to aid and warn people on scam projects. But I think you need not to look further as our very own bitcointalk has a forum thread that discussion and verify scam projects as reported by users from different sources. I always check on the thread for new listings and projects to avoid.

I like the idea of spreading the news about scam projects through websites and social media infact I wish crypto is scam free but what can be done after using the website? If all this is just to fill up the website space I'm not interested, actions need to be taken against scammers
Yes, and until now no action has been given to the scammers, they continue to be born and come up with new ideas to trap everyone, so everyone needs to protect themselves from the good offers that are provided by scammers in crypto.

Sharing is caring, this site might really save someone from losing their money but I am nost sure how much scam sites will be reported there.Even in bitcointalk where we have huge active member has less reported scams compared to the overall scam happenings.

When it comes to knowing about scams projects, Ponzi scheme,  pyramiding schemes, and other crypto schemes, you can see them all in this forum in the Scam Accusations section because here I always look if the project that I invest is legit or not. But the site you have shared could still be useful for beginners and other crypto users.
Posting there would be irelevant for those non forum users. I think its good that there are sites that we can report these scam projects. As you can noticed there are projects posted on that section but dont have bitcointalk associate or forum accounts. Means they dont know this place, only users here that seen some scam thread there would be aware. So OP's suggestion is good. Most probably there are other sites like this.

Thanks for sharing, I think robelneo is right, what he mentioned section looks perfect for this topic.

This should be in the project development section, people who got scam should report it to sites like this and of course here in Bitcointalk because many people are looking here in Bitcointalk for projects that look scam and they want to see if projects that they are going to support or will support has a report here.

I have heard of a similar service before i cannot recall the exact name perhaps it was something like cryptopolice, i think we need a comprehensive platform that keeps an eye on all the projects even new projects and also point out  if there is any kind plagiarism or any other red signal or suspicious thing present about it, idea should be to save as many people to fall for scam projects as much possible.
