its so funny that the moron douche bag that is Kanye West thinks he has a case here. LMFAO. All the dev has to say is that it has no relation to him and stick with that. The sunglasses are worn by thousands of idiots who like those dumbass shutter shades and so are they giving Kayne a bad name. Kayne needs to get off his high horse and find something better to do with his time than to go after some student. He's just going to piss off the hackers which we all know is not going to end well for him.
As far as I can see, Kanye indeed has a case.
Regardless of dropping his last name in the second version of the coin, the devs used his likeness, and even used a little material from one of Kanye's video on their site early on - those are trademark infringements. But aside from all that, we all know who the coin parodied.
I don't understand why the devs continue to antagonize him with their statements, knowing Kanye's character.
If Kanye gets a favorable ruling in NY, he could pursue a judgement in the Netherlands*.
Settlement in the wisest choice here, and I fully expect one to be reached once the gravity of the situation eventually sinks in.
* Kanye might not even need to file a separate trial there. While there are no existing treaty on commercial judgments between the two countries, there is a precedent of a Dutch court awarding an American plaintiff with a judgement made in the U.S (in 2010, Louisiana-based ROYAL CHEMICAL CORPORATION was awarded damages and punitive damages against the defendents, INTERNATIONAL HOLDING BV:
