It was a great fight. Probably fight of the year candidate. Way way better than ESPN's Stevenson-Valdez unification fight. I thought Serrano would finish Katie on the following rounds but she failed until the defending champion managed to recover. I had it 95-95 for Katie. 96-94 were acceptable but that 97-93 for Katie was insane.

It could actually go either way it's a great fight and the highest paid for female boxers with this fight we can conclude that women's boxing has finally arrived and they deserve the respect for representing women in this very physical sport.

Quote
A rematch is very possible but Katie already at 35 years old wants her next fight in her hometown. It will be more difficult for Serrano to earn a decision there. If Katie Taylor sticks to boxing rather than her warrior type of fighting then she can win comfortably.

That fight deserves a rematch they could do it again but in Katie's hometown I doubt if Amanda will agree unless the price is right, he cannot afford a second loss against the same fighter, he is also protecting his legacy it should be on neutral ground, Las Vegas is the best place for another historic fight.

Amanda Serrano did a mixed martial arts before with 2 wins and 1 draw do you think that would be advantage? Katie Taylor has a lot of lightweight belts from Olympics games, I am not familiar with these fighters but I think they are both good but Amanda Serrano has a lot of experience from MMA to Boxing I think that is the advantage of her.

It was a good fight but that was to be expected. Rounds 5 and 10 were especially great. I'm surprised they gave it to Taylor though. I thought Amanda probably edged it. Thought it might have been stopped in the 5th as Katie was taking a beating and not really defending herself but kept swinging and didn't look unsteady on her feet, but saved by the bell. I'm sure they will rematch it as there's not many better options for either fighter. I bet Eddie is regretting ducking that 1 million dollar bet with Jake now.

Unified super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer, Top Rank and ESPN's boxing star is another good million dollar fight for Katie.

What a classic fight between the two, in the end it was Katie Taylor, edging Amanda Serrano in a split decision.

Scores were: Benoit Russell (96-94) had Serrano ahead, judges Glenn Feldman (97-93) and Guido Cavalleri (96-93) for Taylor.

Based on numbers the fight seems to be volume vs accuracy, but Taylor's accuracy was enough to win it for the 2 judges.

Irish Kathy Taylor is the undisputed world lightweight champion.  She combines incredible speed and agility with the devastating power of boxing punches.

Amanda Serrano is a recognized champion in seven weight categories.  Amanda Serrano had to gain weight to fight the Irish.  She ate bananas and washed them down with full-fat milk.  She also had to drink thick protein shakes four times a day.  Rapid weight gain is always a very strong stress for the body of a boxer.  This usually affects its speed characteristics.

Amanda Serano is an amazing fighter with very original knockout punches.

However, she failed to knock out the Irish.  Therefore, she lost this fight on April 30th.

I'm not very familiar with women's boxing but a champ woman in 7 division is hard to achieve, she can definitely knock a guy out even in a bar fight. And there's also a 2 division champ. How much did Logan invest in, He must have offer something very big for this fight to happen. He wasn't very successful in offer the MMA fighters so he move to the women's boxing.

Katie Taylor is a less experience between them and is not knockout puncher. High chance of losing.

I am just so excited on this fight.
I hope you are not wrong, choosing your idol to bet on April 30th is indeed Katie Taylor or Amanda, they are both world-class female boxers today, in general everyone knows Amanda from 44 boxing, she is currently still one of the best women's boxing records.

In terms of age, the two of them are not much different in meeting in the ring this time, Katie 35 and Amanda 32, I believe this is a challenge and an opponent to think about before placing a bet. Katie has also won the IBF, WBA, WBC and many others, on the other hand Amanda has also won the world champion for the ninth time.

This time boxing between Katie Taylor vs. Amanda, I personally believe that Amanda is superior to Taylor, but in the ring, April 30th will prove.
Both are exceptionally skillful as Taylor have won already four major titles in boxing, and she is a two-weight world champion and the current undisputed lightweight champion, while Amanda Serrano is considered the unified featherweight world champion.  I guess its hard to predict who will have an edge in the boxing arena because both have the high energy to win, but we'll wait and see who will be the next champion in the ring.

Checked both of their videos and these two female boxers are not backing down and love to go at it toe to toe in the last woman standing style of fighting I'm dead even on who is the better puncher but I'll for Serrano after seeing how good he is in MMA it just means he has endurance and knows how to go inside his opponent's weakness.
I will not miss this fight hopefully I'll get a free link to watch this fight.

It looks strange to me when two women fight against each other although this is sport, after so many tries from different organizations to stop and reduce violence against women worldwide.
Personally I do not see the relationship at all between the two things you mention, after all violence against women is a problem that in some countries could be even considered systemic while boxing is just a sport in which both parties agreed to participate in a contest.

And while boxing is without a doubt a violent sport, such violence is heavily regulated as only some kind of punches are legal while certain body parts are not allowed to be hit by those punches either.

I don't see the violence I see the discipline posses by boxers, you cannot take those punches if you are not in a well-conditioned body and that's what boxing is trying to impress for those who see this as the violence we sport spectators see endurance, agility and what can endure although they are hurting each other we have referees, doctors and of course the boxer's trainers to see that no boxer will be badly hurt.

It's always great and exciting when two champions battle it out for the undisputed title, everything is at stake here these two ladies are battle-tested Serrano is probably one of the GOAT because he both tested boxing and MMA like what Claressa did
I'll go for Serrano in this fight but it's a very even fight for me because they are both great fighters who can take punches and has both knock-out power and skills, the fight could go either it depends on who wants it most.

Check out these compilations of both the latest knockouts and who has the edge

I think that in a sport where two persons fight against each other there is no real favorite because humans can be in different moods, physical condition and mental, this plays a crucial role, whichever of the two is better in all these she most probably is going to win this match.

It's hard to take punches without a boxer's reaction, but it's as good to watch a fight between two boxers who aren't trying to hurt each other like using knockouts that can end a boxer's life. That's why I think a fight between two women will be more violent than a man's!!
So it seems Serrano is more likely to win the fight at Taylor's expense.

Sport is not violence or shouldnt be.   Anyone violent would rank as undisciplined compared to a trained fighter in a sport and should lose.  Its debatable but thats why theres a referee who can stop the fight I guess.    The biggest issue in sports like this is the damage that repeated head blows can do, that applies to many sports not just this one between fighters.

I really like Katie Taylor's instagram clips of her working out and hitting the bag. Her technique, speed and conditioning would be good for a man. Much less a woman. Her comprehension of range and setups are lacking however. I think Serrano could beat her. Its hard to tell where the weight and height discrepancy is, without seeing them stand next to each other. Serrano should be the smaller athlete from the lighter weight division.

I was actually surprised when I first saw Taylor is the underdog. But later I realized that Serrano could be the favorite then. I think Katie lost in her second Persoon fight. She was busting Persoon's face in the early rounds but was clearly gassed-out and beaten in the second half. And Serrano is heavy handed with deep experience. I still end up betting on Katie though, because if the fight becomes close, superstar gets the judges nod.  Cheesy

Hopefully this big fight will also lead to Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall unification fight this year.

As I understand it, Claressa Shields made the transition to MMA in the hope of bigger paydays and recognition.

It wasn't until triller began promoting Serrano that women in boxing were paid decent salaries and were able to co-main big boxing events.

Katie Taylor may be an exception to this, with the irish behind her, as Conor McGregor was.

This coming April 30, fight fans will witness a mouth-watering and the biggest fight in women's boxing. Two future hall of famers will collide in a multi-million dollar fight in the mecca of boxing, the Madison Square Garden. 7 division champion Amanda Serrano, a knockout artist from Puerto Rico will challenge the undisputed, 2 division world champion, and an Olympic gold medalist, the undefeated Katie Taylor of Ireland.

I am just so excited on this fight. This is something very big for women's boxing. Hopefully this big fight will also lead to Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall unification fight this year.
