Honestly, I can't say that I do know of a great application for ethereum smart contracts. Other than these 3 coins I think Monero has potential, and maybe Dogecoin. What other coins are on your radar that are not in the top 100? There are literally over 5 thousand different types of crypto currencies created out of thin air, its insane! Coins fall off the cap every day, in recent years of course regulations have become more strict and the addition of new coins has been less.
My radar says that you, like the majority, choose coins to hold based on market speculation and intuition, not on the potential in the tech behind the project. I can agree with you that Monera is promised coin due to its unique caracteristics  being anonymous, fast, and secure. However, i can't find the reasons why you picked Doge Coin which is almost a useless coin after being left by its community Devs.
I suggest you to take a look at tokens developed at top of Mimble Wimble protocole like Grin, i ensure you that you will be fascinated by them instead of all the shits in the actual market.

I’m curious now that this post has aged a bit what you think of Monero and Doge now? I ended up holding on everything and they’re doing okay. Wish I actually bought Doge when I mentioned in my response to you lol I’ve actually never owned any.

I don't want to comment about XRP, because I have taken a negative viewpoint against that coin ever since I became active in the world of cryptocurrency. But regarding NEO and ADA I'm a bit more optimistic. I am grouping these two currencies together, since they are similar (NEO and ADA). NEO is having one of the best codes and algorithm for any cryptocurrency and although it has dropped out of the top-10 list, I am 100% sure that it will make a comeback sometime in the future.

Eth and Neo are good to hold but XRP is not good investment for me because as you can see the price is not improving unlike ethereum the price is slowly increasing and possible it will reach $300 this year.

Yes, ethereum and neo are good but don't forget xrp can back to increase again. Maybe xrp needs more time to increase and make another ATH after the other altcoin surge, but I think with the price still at a low price, many people want to buy more xrp. Ethereum will have the biggest chance to increase in the next bull run because ethereum has big support so far, but that will depend on how good bitcoin price moves this year.

Diversifying is a good strategy when investing not only in crypto.

For me bitcoin is my top priority when I invest in crypto because btc already prove that its worthy to hold either for short or long term. So I will allocate huge portion to btc in my overall capital.

On the other side eth is top altcoin and like btc it is already here for years and manage to survive in bearish trend thus these two coins are my choices.

maybe I'll take your advice, but I'll change it a little. I might leave ETH to hold, and the rest will be converted to BTC.

If you feel more comfortable holding Eth together with Bitcoin it's better doing that, your own analysis will convert positive results to your investment.

Well, we all have our own perspectives on potential altcoins. so far, I believe ETH will provide a high price for its hold in the future. so, for now, I might hold ETH and leave the others.

Make your decision according to how you manage your research, lower risk as long as you are knowledgeable with the assets that you'll going to support.

It doesn't hurt if you turn the three coins into bitcoin but for me personally will keep holding it and will even continue to buy when there is the right moment, different perceptions about XRP and other coins don't matter if we remain confident because after all, we who do hold and we are ready with the risk. So it is enough to do what we believe because after all the price of each coin in the crypto market will definitely reach an all time high again, be patient.

Just hodl isn't useful nowadays. Considered structured deposits, or staking on eth in the future
It doesn't make sense if you are holding shitcoins but if you are holding ETH, BTC, or any potential coins, it's kinda worthy of it. Of course, we ha choice and that holding are also a matter of the capability we have, but if we don't have patience and can't really manage to keep it, it will always give you trouble.

I understand the high-risk in holding for we don't know what will happen next. But we have an option to take its either a short-term or long-term holding. But for sure, most crypto holders will choose short-term as we know how volatility is getting worse at this time

I of course had to have some of my coins diversified. But more recently I've thought of converting all three of these cryptos I own into BTC & only holding Bitcoin. I do like ETH and think that the smart contracts are great and there is a lot to build on. XRP is completely hated by the crypto community, but even if they deemed it a security the asset would probably still increase in value. NEO is Chinese and could see huge upside if adopted in that region. But Bitcoin, oh man, Bitcoin is going to the freaking moon. I'm convinced. What do you guys think about these 3 cryptos ? Can't wait to see the feedback on this lol.

These two coins have been continuously dumped since the last bull run. There is no accurate calculation of how many investors have lost their funds by investing in these coins. I don't think it will be profitable to hold these two coins. Because investors are now more interested in Bitcoin than altcoin. You may see suddenly pumps and dumps on these coins, but this makes it difficult for you to make a big profit.

As per the basics of investment rule of diversification, you must hold variety of coins so that you can escape if anything unexpectedly happen. Just to stay within the basics investment rules, I am doing like 90% of my investment into bitcoin and only for the rest of 10% I am going for other altcoins. It means I will never suggest anyone to go for holding only bitcoins. But, you may hold bitcoins in major portion of your portfolio.

In this way we may miss out some good coins which will be having rapid growth but at the same time considering how many people are getting disappointed after investing into altcoins, it would be much better to keep our investment for altcoins up to only 10%.

This is sometimes called like taking calculated risk. Yes, we are going as per the diversification rule still we are going risk free as well.

According to the new Weiss rating what was published few days ago the best cryptocurrencies are for now: Ethereum followed by Cardano and IOTA. If you do not know about Weiss rating, they rate cryptocurrencies based on their adoption, development progress, etc.

You did a great decision from converting all into BTC.
Not all have the same courage as yours.

IMO, I would still keep my ETH and XRP.
I would not even hesitate to sell them for something else.
Let's say I have still high hopes to those two that one day it will be more valuable.

I believe the three coins above will be profitable for the future because the transaction volume increases every day, so if we want to invest in altcoin then the three coins are very appropriate, but if you are still in doubt then bitcoin is more appropriate.

XRP volume is much higher than at any time in history plus WhaleAllert tweeted about big transfers from the OTC market to unknow wallets recently. So something is happening, I would closely watch XRP in next few weeks, I am not talking that it is a good coin, but it can provide a good return in a short period of time.

I put ETH and NEO on the table to be consider if I was you. Both clearly have a chance and back up by a huge number of applications and community users. While XPR is going downhill with nothing new to offer and more and more users seem to try to sell their bag and get out.

Portfolios diversification is a good step in the right direction when you do it the right way.

When it comes to eth, xrp, neo, only you can decide if holding is favorable because only you knows when you invested amongst other important details
Yes, the decision in general is really in each of us in terms of choosing tokens for holding, and of course everyone will choose the best so they can benefit in the future, if asked to me personally, all three tokens are equally good for holding, although I often have just two tokens in between, because I rarely buy Neo tokens even though Neo is also a good token.

This is really not a bad choice as of the moment since we aren't experiencing any “altcoin season” during this time I think diversification is non-existent as of the moment and most of the crypto you mentioned is following the movement of the market leader which is Bitcoin. One thing to note in your situation is will it be worth it in terma of cost on selling your altcoins in exchange for BTC? If you don't worry about incurring a little fee and you are looking to manage lesser crypto in your portfolio I think it will be a good choice for you.

I think so too, the alts are following BTC very closely, you rarely see them not paired up nowadays. I think the fee would be minimal. Better to do it on Bittrex or Binance though? Which one has lower fees associated with crypto conversion. Also, this is unfortunately a taxable occurrence according to US regulations 🤦‍♂️ What was I thinking? 🤣  I should have stuck to my gut and stayed with Bitcoin all the way ⚖️.

Yes you are right you this will be a taxable transaction whether it is buying or selling as long as you are trading in the USA, if I am correct you must record 4 transactions here the 3 sell orders you have for ETH, XRP, and NEO and the buy order you will have for BTC not unless your exchange has a pairing BTC on all three of them then you'll just record the 3 sell orders. When it comes to big exchanges I know that they are always at par when it comes to commissions and fees the only difference you need to look for is what exchange is offering a lower price for Bitcoin so you can maximize the money you will gain from selling your altcoins.

IMO, all the 3 altcoins have its potential, you do your research because if I would choose, I would choose to hold all 3, at least if one will pump, you'll be able to enjoy the profit, and at the same time, you will be able to do the diversification of funds which is well recommended when investing.
indeed all three have very good hopes to be able to get a profit you only need to hold only 1 coin, ethereum alone is enough to save and be used for long-term trading methods while for other short-term trading only for XRP which is still possible to make a profit.

Can you put ADA (cardano) on your list?

I've been holding this coin for one month and I've got a huge profit but I'll keep this coin until its price touch another all-time high.

This coin will be held a new event namely Shelley event that will be held in the early of July (7 July) and will make this coin fully decentralized.

I have no patience to see what will happen after this event is passed because you are allowed to stake this coin and you will be rewarded for it.

BTC and ETH oh yes. XRP and NEO NO. For me I believe so much on bitcoin just like any other experience crypto hodlers. BTC still have a lot of potential and there is no year that will past with bitcoin being explicitly discussed even outside the crypto community. With the recent update about Ethereum and upcoming ETH 2.0, I strongly believe much on ETH and I can die to hodl this crypto because it has a lot of potential and with a very active community of developers especially the founder that give updates and future prospects, ETH is definitely going to moon. XRP as you have stated,is not that favorite of most people. The dev behind the coin are always engulf in all sort of scandals and lawsuit which makes the hodlers fearful of what would be the future prospect of the coin. It is being long we had any update regarding NEO, the coin is gradually turning just like the way of WAVE coin

Your idea ain't bad at all and it's also good for those who want in for short period of time, holding NEO and Ethereum isn't bad too but might take longer for these altcoins to reach their ATH again, as for Bitcoin the sky is the limit so if I were you I will surely sell for bitcoin

January 2018

NEO was priced at $159 and in relation to bitcoin it was priced at 0.013 BTC

XRP was priced at $3 and in relation to bitcoin it was priced at 18000 satoshi

ETH had a price of  $1300 and in relation to bitcoin it had a price of 0.09 BTC

June 2020

NEO is priced at $11.59 and in relation to bitcoin it is priced at 0.0012 BTC

XRP is priced at $0.2 and in relation to bitcoin it is priced at 2000 satoshi

ETH is priced at $243 and in relation to bitcoin it is priced at 0.025 BTC

Now look at the Bitcoin case that you will see that your choice to sell all these altcoins to buy bitcoin was the best choice

This is great! Thank you for showing me this. Very stark differences in only 2 years! Yes BTC is obviously the best choice by a landslide.

I have always preferred to hold NEO and Ethereum. But the loss i have gotten from NEO is unbearable.Because of my strong believe i have hold NEO around 100 and i haven’t sold any of them. But it has given the biggest loss of my life.I had bought them around 50-60$ and Now the price per NEO is around 12$.

So i want to say if you don’t want you to be in loss like me,research about project all the time.Don’t believe any project like me like a blind.

I held when it was $180 and everything else was falling. I actually sold my $500 worth of robinhood shares I got from referrals and put it all into NEO at the time and I feel your pain lol. The fact it has gone that high in the past, you would think it would even return to half that price in the future. Which is why I intend to keep my NEO coins. I may liquidate my others into BTC completely though. Could be a great decision, could be a bad one lol I guess i'll take the chance!

Ethereum: considered as a great tool for scammers to create new smart tokens in forms of contracts then promote them using a bounty campaign or a public airdrop to sell it for real money BTC . However, it is still considered as a promoted machine [EVM] and can provide solutions for many existing problems. Ether is a promised token but for a very long term.
Ripple: Another shitty token called xrp created by banks to serve for banks. It is not fully decentralised and those who believe in it are those who still believe in banks. A good token to invest in but always for a short risky term.
NEO: I can't tell that much about it but i think it's a solid tech that requires a lot of knowledge before anyone can judge it. For investment, hold it at your own risk.
That is very interesting information on Ether, where did you learn this?! I’m interested, there is seriously so much to learn, never stop learning!
I have learned this mainly from two boards of this forum; the altcoin announcements board + bounties sub-board and the scam accusation board. Other than creating a token from thin of air, would you please tell me about successful projects you know who use ethereum smart-contracts! Personally, i only believe in bitcoin and some few others who are not in top 100 coinmarketcap. Yes, someone shouldn't stop learning once there is always things to learn.

Honestly, I can't say that I do know of a great application for ethereum smart contracts. Other than these 3 coins I think Monero has potential, and maybe Dogecoin. Coins fall off the cap every day, in recent years of course regulations have become more strict and the addition of new coins has been less. Many of these coins will play some role together to an extent in the future financial system I think. This upcoming bull market in motion we could quite possibly see highs never before seen. That is when many coins will either make it or break it, following BTC.

all altcoins follow the movements of Bitcoin, so now is the right step to exchange our crypto assets with bitcoin, while ETH-XRP and NEO are good coins but it is safer to exchange them to BTC and hold them for the next few decades.

These are the best 3 altcoins in this market, you can keep holding it and wait for the market to go up. As the market goes up, I believe the top altcoins will grow and bring you more profits, diversify your investment and don't focus on one thing.

I think XRP is bad right now, it's better to go with Ethereum and NEO, eth has big updates coming that will benefit all ethereum lovers and also NEO is more like junior Bitcoin to me because it always follows Bitcoin either up or down, NEO is profitable
It's the worst thing to be choosen as our portfolios. I may go for top 100 CMC rather than XRP which is really over rated coin with no usefulness at all. It looks like OP needs to exchange his XRP for ethereum to adjust his portfolios again.

I would probably convert them all to BTC if you are not confident to the rest of the coins but obviously there are many of us supporting ETH when it comes to being an altcoin.  Of course its one of the top in the smartcontract race. Some are also converting their investment to some smartcontracts though, its up to you.  Leave XRP behind. not worth the wait. Look at how much it has been in 10 years.
This one is for real. Eth has bright future, but we have 0 idea when it (eth2.0) will come around, 'til that eth will be somewhere between $200 and $300.
Neo has potential, it is relatively new and fresh so I'd let it stay in your portfolio.
But only god knows why do some people still believe in xrp, it just constantly is falling down

Now look at the Bitcoin case that you will see that your choice to sell all these altcoins to buy bitcoin was the best choice

Measuring my gains/losses for years, I would have around 30% more of my portfolio value just keeping all in BTC (for long), I have learned that alts are only good for short or for their utility, well that is my opinion.

I have the same experience it's good that you have more Bitcoin 50% of your portfolio is good and 50% on all the other coins that you want to add, I still believe in not putting all your eggs in one basket that is to have a fair share of the profit if ever your main coin Bitcoin couldn't deliver your other coins can.

I always have xrp and ethereum in my wallet and been holding them for long now. Did not even try NEO but i have tried BNB and from my own experience they are good for long term hold. Despite of all the altcoins on the market, we shall choose the established and has a potential to stay stronger in this crypto market. With of course proper research and good feedbacks, altcoins can also give us a good profits.

Of all the three you posted. One is not sure, that is NEO u can really tell if it will survive for long again. Recently, ibhave not heard anyone trying to build their token on neo blockchain. This was a coinbthat was suppose to rival  ETH two years back. NEO developers need to work more

ETH can be considered for the long term as well. Yes, many altcoins do have a very short time rise and then it can take a long time to recover or become worthless coins depends upon which coin you are holding it. Also, one should try to buy during the fallen times and not during the highs which leads to another losses.

Holding Bitcoin is the best decision you will ever make mate, but like what you said diversifying is one good way in holding cryptocurrency and i am a fan of ethereum also.
but you must decide at your own risk because we are just here to advice and nothing more.

why not out the 80% in bitcoin and 205 to ETH?what you think?

Bitcoin should be your main portfolio, you can keep all the coins you've mentioned, Eth, Xrp and Neo but when it comes to the one that will likely make you profit, Bitcoin should be the one in your main portfolio, if you have huge funds it's worth adding more, there are coins that will go to the moon probably this year.

Nowadays more people are now coming to the understanding that Bitcoin is the best to hold and it is a good thing, also I think if situation permits holding one or two altcoins is also a good idea but must be trustworthy altcoins. Thus, with this in mind, since you have already started thinking of Bitcoin, then don't wait anymore, I would suggest you let go of XRP and NEO while holding ETH because of what's expected of it then moving the funds gotten from the sale of others to Bitcoin.

I think XRP is bad right now, it's better to go with Ethereum and NEO, eth has big updates coming that will benefit all ethereum lovers and also NEO is more like junior Bitcoin to me because it always follows Bitcoin either up or down, NEO is profitable

if it were me, then I would choose the 3 best coins today, namely bitcoin-ethereum-BNB. Well, I have a reason. the potential for a rise in bitcoin prices has not yet arisen. this is because I feel that every halving takes time to make the price of bitcoin go up. most likely, the increase could reach a price of $ 15k. however, this will affect other altcoin prices. In addition, ethereum will also conduct other developments, namely ETH 2.0. this makes the potential of ethereum quite the same as in 2018, and for BNB, the coin is currently very developing.

Diversification is really a good choose when you are dealing with investment, Though choosing the right project
is hard as it's needed to be accompanied by  good study and research.
With those named coins, XRP being centralized which mostly being doubt for having manipulations it's better to
replaced it with exchange coin like binance.
All in all the decision still with how investors understand projects that they will choose to invest their hard earned
money, the more you understand the more you'll entrust investment.

I'll keep all of it on my portfolio and might even add more Ethereum because of the coming update, XRP has proven it's worth overtime, they even overtaken Ethereum at one point in time, XRP holds a promise among centralized coins, you are right on NEO once they get all the support of Chinese investors it will go to the moon.

Of the 3 Altcoins that OP mentioned 1 namely XRP did not get a good image from crypto fans because XRP centralization, but if I had to choose, ETH would be my favorite besides BTC.
If I have another Altcoin I will think of selling and only holding BTC and ETH because I feel safer with these 2 coins.

Eth and neo is good choice but xrp am not so sure, there have been some rumors about xrp lately that are not very good to investors, some people claim the team are secretly dumping xrp, I also somewhere that xrp will dump to zero and live investors hanging, now this are mere rumors but you know what they say, in every rumors there is an element of truth. So do your due diligence.

almost everyone has one opinion, they will move their assets to btc.
but for some things i prefer eth, one of which is eth price is cheaper than btc price. another reason is eth is able to follow btc, so if btc goes to moon, i'm sure eth will also follow it and eth is able to benefit us at a pretty cheap price.

so for me personally, i will continue to hold eth than others.

From three alternatives from  above, for neo there is still a strong potential to invest first in the future, the Chinese Government plans to apply financial transactions by launching its own digital currency.

For ETH and BTC are still in great demand by most people, all will convert their assets from all coins to BTC or ETH with a variety of strong reasons including me.

Those are good coins to HODL, However, investors have this practice of shifting their portfolio to where it is profitable, so obviously, I would say that bitcoin still takes as the best asset to invest today. I also do love to diversify, but to really maximise your profit, I will honestly go to bitcoin only and wait till alt season starts. Or just left Ethereum, as it has a lot of hype regarding eth2.0 this July (as per their schedule).

A good step is actually to change all the crypto you have to Bitcoin. So to be more focused in one thing, which is bitcoin. But that is only an option, if it still holds all three coins. actually not a problem, because ETH, XRP, NEO are the top coins too. so holding long term also still has potential.

I may suggest you to exchange your ripple coin into the another coin. There was a bunch of good coin outta here that much better than XRP. It has multi billion coins that will be dumped by jed and foundation. YOu should avoid to hold ripple right now.

in my personal opinion, it's better for you to stick to the ETH because I myself am more inclined to like one of these cyrptocurencies in pandemic situations like this I think ETH itself can still increase little by little and hopefully the price will return to the way it used to be slowly

Ripple has very extending financial relationships globally, although XRP is completely separate it is completely synonymous with the federal reserve to the USD. On NEO: They have a lot of other extensions to NEOs platform that are interesting projects, but I don’t know if their goals of being the largest smart contract token and “smart economy” token will come true. It’s hard to tell tho, China is growing exponentially, who is to say that they don’t adopt NEO smart contracts one they have matured to do a whole assortment of tasks that nobody has really thought of. Considering, it is the “Chinese Ethereum”

Bitcoin dominance now is 64.8% as of this moment, converting into BTC is not a bad decision, it is a wise decision. Bitcoin is the safest and most trusted cryptocurrency asset. But the other coins you have mentioned are decent too. But bitcoin is always leading the way. If I were you I will convert it to BTC if you are planning for long term HODL it is much better.  If you still want those altcoins I guess as long as the BTC has more percentage in your asset it's fine.

Sound advice 🙏👊 this is something I contemplate almost daily. But I have yet to make my final decision. I appreciate your comment!

XRP is bad crypto and NEO was even a better choice than XRP. I guess that should keep what you are holding right now or you can stick on NEO but i just suggest you never try to invest or put your money into the XRP as too much inflation that can prevent the pump or create the dump.
although XRP has a bad image in many people but I see XRP can have a very high trading volume and can get into the top 5 altcoins with the most trading volume based on the order of coinmarketcap, at least XRP also has very expensive prices so I still have some assets in XRP, whereas currently there is no NEO in my wallet.

yes, that is true, better to diversify our funds in our portfolio better in order to get more chances. however, in this case, besides Bitcoin, I will exactly refer only Ethereum. Well yeah, I am not big holders or traders soi that only having small amounts as the initial fund. therefore, I prefer to choose ETH, more exact altcoin besides BTC.

I don't want to debate that probably there are fans of XRP or even NEO. this is only my favorite coin, ETH and BTC are the cryptos that I hold mostly.

You are right with your decision. XRP and NEO don't have that kind of market potentiality and can't certainly depend on in the future. But talking about ETH,  NO, I shouldn't have to give up for this but most likely I have to accumulate more while the price is still at a low. And ever since, I already been trusted this coin and so Bitcoin, so keeping them both for either in short -term and long-term holding will be guaranteed to gain rather than to lose.

I prefer staying at Ethereum and XRP , as far as i hold on Ethereum it is not affectex by the Pandemic thus it goes up.
Its a win-win in staying for a longterm for Ethereum.
I'll give a little shot to XRP since it is a widely known altcoin its not bad hoping for it to rewch in a 5$.
It doesnt affect much the price if it was proportion in btc. Just like dogge coin.
