I also agree and hope he's right. We need more mainstream/public figures singing its praises or highlighting the revolutionary possibilities of it rather than slandering and slagging it off all the time by fearmongering and associating it with mainly negatives such as its use by criminals etc.

People over the world still do not really get it and most of citizens do not really know WHAT is bitcoin.

We need more time but I like when they talk about Bitcoin in media.

The majority of people may not get it yet, but with more and more headlines like this I think they'll be gently swayed over time.

I really really really hope it does become the financial story of our time. It should, but you know what people are like.

The technology is like the internet before http protocol made it user friendly for average people. Once the bit coin equivalent is in place I expect huge things.

I agree with him. I also hope the rest of the world realises this at some point. Bitcoin could easily become the internet of our generation. Maybe something will come along that betters bitcoin in some way but i expect itll be built on or around the technology of btc.

The financial story of our time? That's it?

Cryptocurrency is also the technology story of the century, and the defining socio-political story of the information age.

I say this with no hyperbole, no exaggeration: Bitcoin is the greatest invention since the internet itself.

Just as the internet did, Bitcoin is going to alter our world in ways most of us can't even yet fathom.

Really, I think it is more about the Blockchain technology (and what will follow) than it is about bitcoin.
But who knows? Bitcoin is more financial and the blockchain is all encompassing.

Over the centuries people have been controlled in just a few ways.
What comes to mind is information and money (and coercion of course). The printing press and recently
the internet changed the monopoly on information and now Bitcoin and cryptos are changing the monopoly
on money. And perhaps more importantly it is getting people to question what is money.

A bit scary when you see bitcoin being inserted like a meme in common culture.

That said, my background was in Justice, Finance and IT Technologies, so it didn't take long to see that Bitcoin (and Cryptocurrencies) will impact our society in ways that are
just too far beyond most's event horizons to see. It is really interesting to explain, at a basic level, bitcoin to IT professionals and such, and most just can't wrap their head
around it. And even those that say they do, don't generally get involved, which is a verification that they don't really get it...

Its about sharing

The TV was on in the background and the bitcoin logo and words caught my attention as they flicked on my screen for half a second. It was the Kevin Newman Live introduction on CTV which flashes many images.  So I asked him what he thinks about bitcoin, and its good to see someone in the media who believe in the technology behind bitcoin being a big innovation. He said its the  financial story of our time.

Here is the entire tweet with the youtube video

But if you dont care for tweets then heres a screen cap of the tweet

and here is the video of the introduction with the bitcoin images. (Keep your eyes in the middle at 0:03 and 0:10)
