A small run production is sure expensive. Remember "Das Keyboard" ? It was all black keys with no print. It did cost more than double than an ordinary keyboard. I'm guessing maybe only 10.000 were made, and I don't think the "inventors" got rich. A lose BTC replacement key top would be cool and cheap to make.

Key mapping would be a custom character map and font, not hard to do.

Wut? Das Keyboard is still being made and rather popular, judging by number of mentions in places that I frequent. It cost 13x more than ordinary keyboard (ordinary kb being $10), but if owners are to be trusted, typing experience is infinitely better. It's a little weirdo but what proves more that you're ultimate hacker if not blank keyboard? Pair it with Dvorak layout and your greasy hair and body odor can't repeal chicks fast enough.

Keyboards with Bitcoin symbol would definitely be a statement, but manufacturers probably are not willing yet to do large run. Easier, but more costly way is to go mechanical keyboard route (where you can change keycaps), and just order custom key, see http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/printed-keycap.html.

Or you could just create Autohotkey script to remap keys and call it a day, pick one that suits you:

Code:
; alt + 4
!4::SendInput ฿

; ctrl + 4
^4::SendInput ฿

; shift + 4
+4::SendInput ฿

; ctrl + shift + 4
+^4::SendInput ฿

; alt + b
!b::SendInput ฿

why not just right-alt+B like they did with the euro symbol on right-alt-E?

Can't someone market a keyboard with a BTC on the 6 key? (4 or 5 might also be available in the future).

That would be a powerful message to send and get a lot of geek news attention.

^ is used to much (ie regular expressions).
but you could create a custom KB mapping that had  the thai Baht symbol for SHIFT+6
