KnC appear to be legit in my opinion.  I have a small preorder with them.

But Bitfury claims to actually be shipping in the EU with the US to soon follow.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3018498

So if I had to do another per-order today, I'd go with Bitfury.  They actually seem to be setup to ship new orders before the end of the year.  In fact, I may just go and order another 2 or 3 more hashing boards for my unit.  Wink

you meant at end of Aug. for ship out Aug ordered but not at end of year.

If you order from Butfury now, you will not get your order until the end of October... if you're very, very lucky.

KnC appears legitimate from all the available information. But judgment day is approaching! Payment options with Paypal also give added security. Customer service and response to emails is quick, and polite. Bear in mind that those saying that they are a scam could just possibly be working for other companies - I havent seen any evidence of scam myself, work your way through the main KnC miner thread and judge for yourself.

They are definitely not willing to perform a "hit and run" scam, but anyhow every day that passes without them showing a chip and a working prototype, the more likely they will miss the September deadline.

Can someone explain why they are still using a FPGA to simulate their ASIC chip? How can they possibly deliver final units starting next month when they don't have a chip yet? (I could not find pictures of a chip, so I assume it is still in production until they post pics.) I am thinking late October or early November is more realistic assuming all goes well. The other big question is if they can produce the number of units already ordered for it to be worth buying one now from their site. This has been a big problem with BFL, Avalon, and maybe Bitfury resellers very soon. So, I don't know why it would be any different with KNC. Maybe it won't be a problem if KNC does not mine with customer's hardware once it is produced. I believe this is the real delay from BLF and Avalon.

That's my two cents.

Only the folks at KnC "know", but I am of the opinion that they are, indeed, legit.
Of course, I am a nobody who has gotten effed over twice.
(one on a non-delivery of btc, the other on Avalon asic chips)

I am guardedly optimistic.

I find it shameful that only the shysters have been successful up to this point.

Yifu doesn't give a fuck.
Zerlan is putting in time, waiting for Sonny's parole to end.
Friedcat laughs at the suckers that will never achieve ROI.

Maybe these Europeans can show the Chinese and Americans how to run a proper business.

I think bitcoin needs a champion, defending it from the scammers.

They have enough funding through pre-orders to deliver... but so does/did Avalon and BFL and they have both lost all credibility to deliver anything including accurate updates.  Right now people are guardedly optimistic about KnC and some are extremely vocally optimistic (bitcoinarama).

My advice would be to hold off on a KnC purchase until Nov. as they have announced that they will be lowering their pricing  ($7000 -> ~$5000?), and that point it will be clear if they have delivered or not.  It will probably be a mad scrum though when they announce the new pricing so if you want to jump in then, you will have to be quick.

Only in as much as I have visited them and acknowledged their design capability and expectations.

For the sake of those not wishing to visit them, they have posted as much professional info, ref: Linkedin's, Company Details, etc. as desired. ORSoC has more than enough experience, check them out and make up your own mind. For me it made sense to take a trip over there. It's a lot of money at stake, but London to Stockholm is an easy flight.

I certainly wouldn't expect anyone one individual, or group of individuals to make up your own mind, so do what ever research is required that satisfies whatever decision you come to. It's your choice to make.

I think I would say no one knows yet. It is still at a pre-order stage and I do not know if they have delayed anything as of yet.

I believe they have posted a prototype board. So for what it is worth, there it is.
