Is there anyway for a standalone knc miner to solo without another computer? I'd like to gamble on solo mining, but don't have the ability to have another server set up.

Not possible. You should setup a the coind in your computer/laptop or vps. Don't go for solopools for many reasons.

The beaglebone on board does not have enough storage for the full block chain which would be required for solo mining. However you could use one of the remote solo mining pool options like solopool.net

Are any of the network solopools trust worthy? Seems like an easy way to scam people...

Simple answer is no. But you could always rent a vps (virtual private server) for £5 a month and palm all the bitcoin at stuff onto that. Or buy a cheap itx low power computer.
