The best luck I've had was keeping the area toasty with my hot-air station and using the beefy iron to melt directly. Swapped a few plugs on Habaneros, which I can't imagine KNC anything is built more like a giant heatsink than those boards are. Still wasn't really a quick process.
Had this happen on an SP20 a while back, I just snipped the legs on the connector leaving most on the board side and soldered heavy gauge wire directly to them, then ran that to my PSU(server PSU with ring terminals). Ran that way for months until I sold it and I can only assume it's still running that way.
Buy Block erupter cube ASIC 38gh/s miner and you get two compatible PCI-E sockets.
I think, that connectors from Asicminer Cube are not rated at 13A per contact...
I used it for two cubes. No problems with original Y cables.

This is true, I couldn't get the solder on my cube to liquify. I ended up just scraping off the melted plastic and calling it a day.
You'll need to cut off the old plug and heat each leg separately .
I can almost guarantee that your PSU's cables aren't either.
Maybe, but I suppose, that with KNC Y splitter it does not matter...

A couple cubes got burnt up/melted and don't work. I'm guessing I can just replace that pci-e connector on the cube. Anybody run into this? Does anyone know how to go about this? What parts do I need to purchase? I know someone who can solder this stuff on, but part do I need to purchase. Would be much appreciated.
