I was clearing out an old hard drive and found a load of knc firmware files, including the enablescores that you were looking for sorry.

I've edited my post above with direct links, but have done a folder with all the files in case any one else needs any of them in the future.

ok, I finally got the file I was looking for! All it took was some help from a couple members from this forum and KNC Miner themselves.  Grin I have it hosted here...

https://mega.nz/#!ZZkyjBAB!DKEvvLdjNb43KfdPo8_PheCSp0VYfMqBL_R0fyNTLMM

Use it to enable those pesky disabled cores on your Jupiter modules, and I think on the Saturn's as well.

oh, and one final call out for anyone who had success removing the large VRMs of these modules? I want to make some good modules out of some bad ones I have, and my first attempt at getting those VRMs off didn't go well. I will probable make a new post about this, since I am going a bit off topic now...

it looks like I just found one of my answers on this very forum  Smiley

This was the image I was thinking about for the 8 VRM placement on the Jupiter November modules. Now I can try fixing my cards....

I will email them...I didn't even think to try  Cool if I get something back from them, I will post it here.

also, I will use the temp method if I have to, but if it is a working one, boy that is going to be hot! haha...however, if I remember the image I am looking for correctly, it has the VRM numbered in a crazy way. The particular person providing it mentioned that they were not in a logical order for some reason, but using the temperature method, it won't matter anyways as I will be able to identify the bad ones regardless. thank you!

It may sound obvious but have you tried emailing [email protected] for that enablecores.bin file

If memory serves me correctly, the VRM's are numbered clockwise starting with the left one where the power connects, finishing with the one on the right where the power connects.  I can't remember the firmware for the jupiter it was ages ago, but if it has the option to turn a die off then you could try that then feel the temperature on the VRM's to see the 'cold' one.

just wanted to let anyone reading this that I am still looking for that enablecores.bin file that used to be on the kncminer site...I can't find that file anywhere. I need it now, since I have 2 Jupiter modules with all their cores shut off, and no matter what I do with them they will not come back on. That enablecore files would force them back on no matter what...man I hate computer crashes!  Undecided

on a side note, does anyone have that image of the Jupiter's 8 VRM layout with them numbered by chance? Again, Google is failing me on this one, and I KNOW I have seen it before, possibly on this very site. They look pretty easy to change out, and I have some boards I can take their VRMs off, and make some good boards. thank you!

thank you all for your time on this! all this will help me get a couple more miners up and running smoothly.  Cool If I find that enablecores.bin file again, I will post a link to it here as well, in the interest of sharing the wealth. Wink

I still have a copy of kncminer-1.01.custom.bin which is padrino's custom firmware that incorporates bertmod and adds all the overclocking features.

http://ul.to/u7puc100

Never used the enablecores.bin sorry so can't help on that.

thank you! oh and the enablecores.bin file is to reactivate the miner's cores that get shut off for one reason or another, and will not come back on, even after restarting the miner numerous times. This happens sometimes to my miners, as I like to tweak them for speed and power efficiency, and sometimes I go too far and lock up the miner's cores. This was a very useful file to have basically  Grin...the kncminer website use to have it for download..... Cry

Archived here for Padrino's 1.01 with bertmod and OC.

They removed them, without warning or possibility to retrieve posts/files.  Officially because they felt that support could be provided in better ways via official non-forum communication channels.  Unofficially because KnC. Official BertMod releases are here, but might as well go with later tweaked packages: http://tadn.eu/bertmod/

Archived here for bertmod vanilla packages.

Probably best if you (also) post to the main KnC thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/swedish-asic-miner-company-kncminercom-170332

Here is the enablecores.bin

And found another file, not sure what it does but think it's a knc one as it has their logo as an icon diag-1.0.bin

Where did KNCMiner's Jupiter Support Page and Forums go?? I been out of the mining loop for the past six months, and now I can't find Jupiter stuff anywhere on KNCMiner's website.  Huh  Long story short, my computer crashed recently, and the ONLY things I didn't have backed up anywhere else was all my KNCMiner firmwares/config files/etc.! But now I need all that stuff again to set up a new miner, and it is like KNCMiner erased Jupiter's existence from the Internet. Well I did find one thing...

https://github.com/KnCMiner/images

which just has the stock firmwares...but I am looking for two things specifically...

-latest BertMod firmware...I remembered looking for it last year, and that was a PAIN, but I found it. However, I don't have it anymore and I would like to know where I can find it again.
-Next, the simple, but useful 'enablecores.bin' file. I can not find this file anywhere, Google is definitely failing me on this one! I am guessing someone is going to have to send it to me or host it somewhere...

thanks in advance!
