Yea I got hit by a newbie scammer for $400 using a hacked account, im negative $400 - welcome to the club.

You try to help newbies out and this is what you get in return.

Welp lesson learned

Really makes you lose faith in humanity. I swear three out of four people are looking to scam.

I also had this bundle of joy Smiley
Yep, I'd say at least 3/4 around here.  The irreversible nature of bitcoin just draws them in and then straight to this forum.  But there are definitely ways to keep safe and it doesn't sound like OP was using those ideas.  I wouldn't trade with any newbies here and using escrow is a must unless the person is very trusted, and even then you don't know.

I like to presume that every newbie account is looking to scam.  Never ever send directly to newbies!

@subwoofer12

We should of listen to people who said "If its a reversal payment method, don't sell bitcoins for it"

Well atleast we know now.

Paypal, Payza, Skrill, Google Checkout, bitgold and any payment processor which deals with debit card/banks dont use them to sell bitcoins.

Here is a "Decent" list you can use but remember to use escrow:

okpay (although this company looks shady in my books, My account was hacked and I lost $10, I contacted okpay and they said there is nothing they can do, so gotta say atleast transactions are finale and can not be reversed.)

Country Currency (USD,CAD,Euro etc..) - In person, but make sure it is in a public place, There was a story a localbitcoiner was robbed at gun point.

cashila seems great if you have bitcoins and need money in the bank. (sadly I have no use for it right now, I am from USA, but once my site is done I will have a use for it)

-----

Just make sure the exchange you are using is legit, and don't take the word of a newbie or someone who "vouch" so many times (as in they ask for a vouch copy, or vouch account etc..).

Good luck!

Paypal with newbie? How many scams we have to go through to make everyone see that its a bad idea. For an awesome quote, see KWH's signature
Tagging, Ecua and Sho will do so shortly after they come up

When I traded with Fullbuster, I sent first that was my mistake. So my thinking was if I make him send first instead I'd be safe.

Flawed logic.  Tongue
