everyone can say anything in their own opinion. It is for you to do your own research before considering such opinions. But I must point out that many people say the same about palkadot. Some investment can be made and expected in this. But apart from that, it is necessary not to pay much attention to such news.

That is a kind of appreciation and opinion and the other thing is that as an owner of an exchanger he can really picture out the growth of this project.
And of course, those who are investing in Polkadot will simply give some boost to it, and surely we can hear from them that this coin is worth for investment, the next ETH, or even saying the next Bitcoin.

Well, everything is just assumptions, but the fact that we live in this unpredictable market, that be all uncertain.

Before the evidence is there I don't believe if polka dots can overtake Ethereum, I don't think he's Elon Musk who can say then pump coins in the near future. So it needs real proof to see if the coin really does what he says

On an interviews of Kraken going public, Kraken talked about Polkadot. Although he didn’t directly said Polkadot is the next Ethereum. He said, "Polkadot is the next Ethereum, many people think."
What do you think? Will Polkadot be able to replace Ethereum or Ethereum will be there and more powerful with the ETH 2.0?
The interview- https://twitter.com/crypto/status/1377214094567215108?s=19
It seems to me that his statement was left open ended and not at all conclusive. Many people see Polkadot as a great project with Ethereum not having done much, in fact, dropping in popularity due to its crazy fees. Despite this there is a general consensus that Polkadot is not yet ready to replace Ethereum, and by the time it gets close ETH v2 should already be out. So, for me, it is still unclear yet if there's yet any crypto that could overthrow ETH just like that...

Also, not only DOT is competing with ETH right now, but the BSC, ADA and other popular networks.
And in terms of projects building under those networks, I am seeing a lot more under BSC.
How many projects have been built under DOT, if they need to compete with ETH?
And yes, once phase 1 of ETH 2.0 is deployed and they improve their network, some things will change.
That is, if eth can indeed resolve this high fees in their network. And hopefully, be a user-friendly again.

Which means every exchange has their favorites, Kraken is looking at Polkadot and Binance and CZ is advertising their chain as well, so there is too much competition with high profiles influencers trying to promote the chain they think is best for them and the ETH 2.0 upgrade is talked about for a very long time and since i see the end results i cannot make any conclusive decisions whether the upgrade will make any changes at all.

Polkadot is indeed a very good project and many people think that Polkadot will be able to replace Ethereum, but in my opinion there will not be any altcoin that can replace Ethereum including Polkadot, because Ethereum is a very good blockchain (many projects use blockchain from Ethereum), so I am sure Polkadot will not be able to beat or replace Ethereum until whenever, especially if ETH 2.0 is launched then I believe Ethereum will be better than now and will be more popular.

It could well not be about Polkadot being the next ethereum, it prolly could be somewhat of a method to hype the coin, I know Polkadot is already doing great on the network, and thus if it's mentioned more, it could even do better, for example, when Elon tweeted things about Bitcoin and Dogecoin it cause a hype and price appreciation for both coins, that could be the case for Polkadot.

Having said that, I don't think it's in Polkadot's best interest for them to be linked to being the next ethereum cause quite a lot of coins have also carried that tag, and haven't lived up to any positive expectations, Polkadot will be better of focusing on their own ecosystem and developing at their own pace, Eth already has a large community of investor, and with the non-stop improvement of their network like the introduction of eth 2.0, thus it'll be difficult for any other altcoin to usurp them.

It could be right if ethereum still can not fix gas fees, polkadot faster and cheaper then ethereum. It can scale without hard fork and many new feature on it. Ethereum need to move fast for its development or will be left by many developer. Many ethereum candidate out there ; polkadot, BSC and Cardano
Some people may feel doubt if ether can fix its problem soon but the question is why kraken founder was only mentioning DOT while so many ethereum users were moving to the BSC.
We know that kraken as a competitor for binance would not like to mention BSC as the best candidate to be the next ethereum.
It's so funny to see that founder didn't wanna give the fact.

This is my first time to heard that polka can scale without doing any hardfork on its chain. that's pretty interesting.

I gotta say that it's doing really well. For a currency created long after the altcoin craze of 2017 , it is remarkable that it got noticed and is currently #6, also experiencing the best times so far in terms of the price. I haven't looked into this crypto before, but now that I did, I think it's one of those coins that might gain a lot when it comes to the price, but but a platform that is going to replace Ethereum. I think it can grow 2x-5x in terms of the price, but not higher than 10x because that would mean beating Ethereum by marketcap. I do like it that it's an open-sourced project, and it IS created by a former CTO of Ethereum, so I think it has the chance of becoming #3 (right after Bitcoin and Ethereum). Overall, the team looks solid, the project gets a lot of publicity and the dieas behind it are interesting. So it's the one to follow if not the one to invest in.

That's his personal opinion and he could be bias with that, let's just make our own research though, that's the most important. However, looking at the success of Polkadot, there's a huge potential that it could be as poplar as ETH someday but of course, ETH needs to disappoint its supporters while Polkadot continues to feed its supporters with big update.

I think these are just big words to get people's attention. There are many topics like yours) you only attract attention and nothing else. It has been said and written 100 times that Polkadot unites blockchains and does not try to replace or overtake them.
