It is quite understandable. During the past 48 hours, they are witnessing huge volumes (BTC/BCH) and the staff is over-worked and tired. It seems like they didn't had enough time to properly set up everything before the BCH trade started.

I think there are still working on the site with bitcoin cash. Sometimes you can notice the line with Bitcoin cash disappear or is literally replaced by "()" This added with the fact that there are surely thousand of people trying to use the website. With Kraken as you know each time, there is something happening with Bitcoin the site is hardly reachable or down. Coinbase face the same situations in such case

Same as you, personally today I am just tired to use this website. I am hardly able to finish what I wanted to do, without facing an issue on the site. I am not going to get my nerve on the site, once I finish I log out and I am done for today. I don't have much patience
Exact. Every time I load their site I wonder if I will be able to perform what I wanted to log in to.

If I lived from trading, I am sure I would have left Kraken a while ago.

I haven't used them for months already but I have some coins that I kept on their wallet. I hope they are fine. I deposited my coins there just so i can cash out wherever I can access the exchange. Do you think they are hacked?
They are back online.
I think they were undergoing a DDoS attack or just too much traffic. They don't scale their web services' resources when needed nor do they optimize their site to ensure things like these stop happening.

However their trading engine is still buggy.

If you mean the current downtime, they don't seem to have taken the server down intentionally or anything like that. I have been able to reach kraken.com at times (but have been unable to navigate or login) so hopefully it's just that their servers are more overloaded than usual.

Life, Love and Laughter...
It feels like there are some serious problems regarding Kraken and tbh I'm getting a little scared since it's been hours and there's not a word coming from them.  I tweeted them and still waiting for an answer.

Kraken is the best Bitcoin exchange I've ever used or had an account at. I am verified and use my account daily.

However I find that their engine is simply not up to the experience they as an exchange provide. While SEPA transfers (both incoming and outgoing) and Bitcoin payments were sent and received fast, and their support always answered me promptly and in a knowledgeable manner, their engine has been incredibly buggy.

This has made me avoid opening margin positions because I know I won't be able to close them. I lose money even when I am earning money because by the time the position is closed the price has changed.

They don't seem to take this as a serious problem. My theory is that, since people are still trading, they're still earning money so they couldn't care less.
