It's quite cheap to run, and easily scalable due to messages being stored on Telegram and not our own server.
What type of data encryption you are actually using for krotmail, if any?
With recent news sharing anything on telegram servers means that government is getting that combined with users IP addresses and phone numbers.

Yes, but unlike the regular temp mail, this becomes sort of your private temp mail in that usecase, nobody else will have the option to access an already registered email.
Since Telegram has a lot of registered users, I see this as an easy way to create an email, it only takes one simple command once a Telegram account is set up.
Sure, it sounds like a decent alternative for temp email services, but I would not use it for anything serious.
I just don't see the appeal in using another middleman for email addresses, but maybe someone will find this service useful.
How many users you have so far?

As of right now, 3 digit number of unique users, nothing crazy, but server can handle current load with ease.
If load ever drastically increases I will see to it that server will be switched for multiple to run smoothly.

Welp, Telegram is outside of EU/US/Russia and keeps away from court orders.
What do you mean?
Durov was recently arrested in France, that is a part of EU and he is going to be in court soon.
Everything is kept on their servers and we don't know exactly who has the backdoor access to everything now.

I mean Telegram is based out of Dubai at this time.
And yes, Durov was arrested in France, however Telegram claims not to have given out any information in response to any court order, as per their privacy policy.

Krotmail serves as a one-time use type of inbox primarily, one that does not expire after one day.
But if I understand correctly I can currently only receive emails, same like with bunch of temp email services.

you shouldn't use a messenger app designed for phones primarily anyway?
I don't, especially not for any sensitive information.

How can you call krotmail a privacy focused email service when it is working on top of telegram?
Phone number is directly connected with email address, and nothing is encrypted in telegram, except maybe private chats, and that encryption is also questionable.
Telegram standard-privacy is not enough, and situation can only be worse after recent arrest of Durov.

Welp, Telegram is outside of EU/US/Russia and keeps away from court orders.
It also serves encryption, even though it could be questionable, depending on your threat model. If you're worried the CIA is snooping you shouldn't use a messenger app designed for phones primarily anyway?
Krotmail serves as a one-time use type of inbox primarily, one that does not expire after one day. If this is not enough for you, and you're paranoid about the recent incident involving Pavel Durov, perhaps I would personally not recommend you use krotmail, as this is service is not customized to your needs.

Hello,

I've been working on this project called krotmail, it's a Telegram bot that works as an email service.

Since I haven't seen any other email routers on Telegram I thought I'd make my own as a free service.

Krotmail allows you to, through the Telegram bot, register emails on the krotmail.com domain, once an email is received on the registered email it will show up as a Telegram message to the user who registered the email.
Thus allowing for a more convenient way of creating emails intended for one time use or less important stuff. (as there is no smtp server to send emails)

No emails get saved server-side, they are deleted the second they've been forwarded onto Telegram which ensures Telegram standard-privacy.
Krotmail also collects no other data than registered email aliases, telegram chat IDs (to know where to route messages), and (if created) backup keys.

To get started simply message the Telegram bot, "/start". You can also use "/help" to list available commands.

Important note:
This project is new, and there may be unexpected behaviour in the system, for example email attachments are not supported.
Incoming emails are also parsed to remove obnoxious HTML/inline styling in non-plaintext emails as they make the reading experience of emails horrible.

Future plans:
- Allow email attachments to route to Telegram.
- SMTP to reply to and send emails.

I'm happy to cover any concerns or questions regarding krotmail. Smiley
