The only chance of account recovery is to fulfill their request. Please get in touch with one of these guys @KuCoin Exchange or @TalkStar, or leave your complaint in the official Kucoin thread. I don't know if they can handle it, but I think they can forward your complaint to the team competent regarding ID verification. Publicly written customer complaints are usually quickly dealt with for the sake of reputation.

I can't see how reaching TalkStar with this issue would help, he's currently managing their latest bounty campaign and not part of the core team, community manager, or support. It is not his duty or responsibility to see the outcome of this 2FA issue.

If I may add, before anyone can suggest, I don't think trying to reach them through telegram would help, as evidenced by the screenshot from the neighboring thread below, reaching through telegram would only made them suggest and redirect you to their support team, namely Scott and his colleagues, which so far proves to be ineffective.

However, I agree that a publicly written complaint is a method worth utilizing.

Altcoin447, I dug through their support site and found that you're not alone, there are other people facing the samae issue with sudden 2FA. If you haven't tried the method used by Aaronshippee1, I suggest you to try that.

I don't understand what's the problem of using 2FA, just don't connect it with your phone number, and use some open source app like Aegis or AndOTP.
You can even use some old offline phone without sim card with sole purpose of being used for 2FA.
I don't know what exactly Kucoin is requiring from its customers at the moment, but as far as what you've written I'd say easier said than done.  Some of these exchanges are asking for selfies with people holding their drivers licenses and whatnot, and if you fake that and you end up part of some investigation into tax evasion or whatever....you're screwed.

Kucoin seems to work just fine KYC-less if you're only trading and withdrawing small amounts.  They asked me for KYC docs one time last year and then magically they never asked again.  To this day I have no idea what was up with that.

Hopefully Kucoin isn't going to require KYC docs from all of its customers, but I've been saying for some time that exchanges are going to be forced to do so eventually.  Some warning would be nice, though.

*****This has been going on for weeks and weeks!  Does anyone know how to extract data from another exchange to get them what they want?*****
Seems pretty much self-explanatory from the message they sent you in an email.

1.Upon checking, I show that the information you provided is unqualified. We need the screenshot of other platform which you made transaction with Kucoin(not the screenshot from your email) .Please read the bold sentence below carefully.

For example, I deposited BTC to KuCoin from A platform, then I need to log into A platform and locate the transaction under withdrawal history and take a screenshot. If I sent it from a personal wallet address, then a screenshot of my personal wallet address would also be acceptable.

Log into and exchange or wallet which you used to deposit the funds to Kucoin. Take a screenshot of the transaction history and send it to them.

Many exchanges are now demanding that people must enable 2FA for withdrawing anything from their accounts, and you wont be able to use it without completing that step.
I don't understand what's the problem of using 2FA, just don't connect it with your phone number, and use some open source app like Aegis or AndOTP.

You don't have to extract any data.
Let's say you made a 1btc deposit on Kucoin from Binance. Log into your Binance account, from your transaction history, find that particular transaction and take a screenshot. Make sure your account username and the transaction id are clearly visible on the screenshot, just in case.
If you've made the deposit from your own wallet, open your wallet and take a screenshot of the outgoing transaction.
It doesn't have to be btc, it can be any other coin or token. You just need to prove that you are the one who initiated the transaction.

Make sure to hide any sensitive data that may give them access to your other accounts/wallets.

Hi All,

Has anyone had KuCoin do the following:

- No issues with KuCoin, getting into account with username/password and using trading password
- Then about 6-7 weeks ago, hadn't logged into account for a couple weeks, go to log in and then it says I need to use 2FA?
- (I didn't set it up because I had some issues with another exchange after I switched out my last phone)

1- I never set-up 2FA with KuCoin
2- No one ever said I had to set it up
3- They did not send me an email stating I needed to set-up 2FA in a given period of time
4- So they locked the account and basically had it set to say I needed to sign-up with 2FA
5- I submitted the ID and paperwork with a changing date/number they ask you to write down and take a Selfie with
6- They said it was denied (Note:  I gave them more information about myself then when I first signed up!!!!!!!)
7- They didn't state what was wrong, but gave me the blanket statement below:

Dear Valued KuCoin User,

Thank you for reaching out to KuCoin customer support. (ID # for Request 1286795)

Thank you in advance for your understanding. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know!

*****This has been going on for weeks and weeks!  Does anyone know how to extract data from another exchange to get them what they want?*****

It's insane that KuCoin cannot answer, why I need to put 2FA on my account and why I didn't get an opportunity to log into my account and set it up?  There customer Support does not seem to understand any question you pose to them.....This is the single Worst Exchange I have dealt with to this point!

I have NO Idea what I'm supposed to provide them....Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated!

Scott
