Is there any exchange that has not committed one offence or the other as far as government and SEC are concerned? They will always find a way to intimidate crypto exchanges or organizations they see to be a challenge to them by putting allegations on them. Government themselves are a big enterprise of money laundering and they can not deny it. Kucoin is still doing fine, I have not noticed any issue with it. It was the same thing they accused Binance of so they can take out the owner and sabotage the exchange.

I have just gone to deposit GBP in Kucoin but there seems to be a problem.

Using the app, i have always gone to assets and then 'Buy Crypto' but when doing so now it only has one payment channel called BANXA and when trying to use this says it does not cover UK.

So can we now no longer  use Kucoin in UK?

Is this something to worry about or not?

New laws can be confusing.  They may have attempted to follow the rules and just missed something.

If the business is profitable, they will probably continue.  If they are losing money, this may be a way out for them.  What was your feeling about them before you read the news?

There has not been much talk about Kucoin since I brought this up 4 weeks ago.

I got most off of my crypto of there just to be safe , just have a couple of investments on there that I cannot send to my cold wallet.

Does seem like they will be ok though.

You store physical gold and people can steal it, you store it in a safe it's still the same, but you can store BTC with the privacy that a seed phrase can store that you know the item is small everyone won't know.

Bad argument, everything can get stolen or confiscated. And under pressure most give away the access.

Kucoin is still fine yesterday tried to make a withdrawal but not in a large amount of withdrawal is still normal only a few minutes of funds can be withdrawn immediately, but still it is not recommended to keep assets too long on the exchange because it is risky.
keeping coins in 3rd party exchanges always is risky. Going back to Gold safest Wink
Exchange is almost the same as the Bank as a third party, not recommended.

One more thing Kucoin has tried to convince users by holding an airdrop affected by the withdrawal delay they will distribute $10 million to customers and that could be a weapon for Kucoin to customers not to leave. Tongue

But you can judge for yourself, because many have suggested that storing assets on the exchange is not safe even though it has a reputation.

A lot easier to sell when my crypto is already on the exchange but of course that comes with risk.
THERE'S NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE, and when eyes started on FTX, it collapsed quickly, so there is no need to risk your coins and trust that everything will be fine.
Kucoin will not be safe if you use it in the United States and will likely be banned in more countries.

This news was made public 5 days ago but still doesn’t seem to be any problems with Kucoin so not sure how serious it is.

I have moved most of my crypto off the exchange now only holding a few on there that I can’t send to my cold wallet as they do no support it.

Never wise to leave too much of your stash on an exchange, 20% is far too much so I’m glad you’ve rectified that now. I think it’s for the best in this scenario especially as often once these rumours start swiroing, sometimes a widespread rug pull isn’t too far away.

I think the idea is to always stay alert that any exchange can have problems, so it's just to be careful that this is possible, so that you don't have that mistaken idea of the user mentioned below.

A lot easier to sell when my crypto is already on the exchange but of course that comes with risk.

It looks fine for now.

I like holding my crypto on my cold wallet I just hope its not a long process when it comes to selling all my crypto over the next 6-12 months.

A lot easier to sell when my crypto is already on the exchange but of course that comes with risk.

Now you have moved most of your funds, just wait for a while to see how things go.

It could go either way 6-ft under or some new management takes over just like Binance, and it's BAU.

They are still suspect of the crime until proven guilty, l don't have much on this issue because I don't know much how legal backing the exchange has and it's operations limitations in certain environment.

I have now moved most of my crypto off Kucoin to my cold wallet just incase.

Annoying having to pay the fees to move my crypto but it is nothing compared what I would lose if the exchange was to fall and I left all my crypto on there.
